McManus Probe releases results of RBDA inquest- and find Red Bull complicit 

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND - After a week of deliberations, probe spokesperson Claire Williams appealed to the media today to announce the results of the FIA inquest into allegations made by Dakota McManus regarding abuse and neglect in the Red Bull drivers academy. 

The outcome? Red Bull Racing have been found culpable and fined in accordance to FIA sporting regulations. Additionally, the probe has asked that the team also deliver special damages to McManus for an amount that has not been disclosed to the press.

Following McManus' statement, multiple former drivers including Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersari took to Twitter to share their own experiences within Red Bull Racing.

The results of this probe are so so so important today for women in motorsports everywhere. In addition to fining Red Bull and ordering the special damage payment, the FIA has now ordered that any drivers academy who has a young woman as a part of their program will be required to hire a team of women trainers, dieticians and counselors to tailor their training experience to one that properly fits a young female athlete.

This is groundbreaking for motorsports everywhere.

So proud to have been a part of that decision today. It shouldn't have taken a young woman's suffering to bring these changes into effect, but I am glad that they are here. Racing can be cruel to a young girl. But it doesn't have to be cruel any more.
