Allison seemed troubled. You had not one clue what could be dragging your best friend down. Normally no problems ever happened that were bad to affect even the way she spoke to you. But she seemed different, flustered, embarrassed. You didn't notice immediately but it soon became apparent it was a new thing. So you did what any friend would do and asked her about it, and the answer was not at all what you were expecting.
