You woke up to the smell of what seemed to be fire. 

Concerned, you slid out of bed and made your way into the kitchen, where the smell was hailing from. Alas, there you saw your girlfriend standing in front of the stove, clearly in slight distress.

"Rei," you raised an eyebrow, "What are you doing?"

At the sound of your voice, Rei jumped, not expecting you to be awake just yet. Her cheeks flushed pink, clearly embarrassed that whatever she was planning was now spoiled.

"Well.. I was making pancakes.. I wanted to surprise you with breakfast in bed.. You know, for Valentine's Day and stuff," she scratched the back of her neck, "But clearly making pancakes was harder than I had anticipated."

You didn't mean to, but you burst into laughter. You felt bad since it was your girlfriend's misfortune, but you couldn't bring yourself to stop.

"Yah, [name], stop laughing!" She covered her face with her hands, feeling even more embarrassed than she had moments ago, "This is not how today was supposed to go.."

Once you were calmed down, you walked over to Rei and grabbed her hands, removing them from her face so you could look at her, "I'm sorry, baby.. You're just so cute.~" You fake cooed at her, making her playfully roll her eyes.

"Since I ruined your breakfast.. What do you say we go to the diner down the street? Then maybe we can take a walk through the park? How does that sound?" She gave you the cutest smile, which only grew when you nodded.

"Alright, sounds good to me.. Hopefully the chef at the diner doesn't burn my pancakes too." You joked before running off into the bedroom, where Rei chased you.

"Not funny, [name]!"

"I'm sorry baby!"
