[name] sighed as she stared at her phone.

Wonyoung had cancelled on her again, something about helping Liz with something, but Liz had just told her that she was eating out with Rei, so now she's positively confused.

Why was Wonyoung avoiding her?

Could someone else be taking up her attention?

"Shut up, don't think like that." [name] chastises herself, standing up and locking her phone. "She's just busy, that's all."

-

"So wait, Wonyoung lied to you and said she was with Liz when Liz was actually with me?" Rei asked, and [name] nodded. She's talking with Rei and Gaeul, hoping that the older members could maybe help her find out what was going on with her girlfriend.

"Do you want us to talk to her? It's clearly stressing you out." Gaeul said, her tone soft, and [name] shrugged. She doesn't know; really, she doesn't know anymore, and she says as much to the two girls in front of them.

"That's understandable." Rei says, placing a gentle hand on [name]'s arm. [name] huffed. Why was this so difficult?

"Can you just keep an eye on her? I don't want to seem overly possessive, but I'm just worried there's someone else. Someone better.." [name] whispered the last part and both Gaeul and Rei nodded, swearing to keep [name] updated before turning to other topics to distract her.

"Sorry, [name], I'm going to be home late again today." Wonyoung informed [name] after lunch, and she just sighed once again.

Settling down her chopsticks and swallowing the last bite of her food, she shifted her attention to Wonyoung.

"Why?" [name] doesn't like asking. She trusted Wonyoung. So much.

But considering the number of times Wonyoung has cancelled on her recently, she's really starting to get concerned.

"Just, just gotta do something." Wonyoung unusually stuttered, and [name] scoffed. "Sure. Just be honest with me, please." [name] begged, and Wonyoung rolled her eyes, annoyed at her weird behavior.

"I am being honest, though." Wonyoung protested, and [name] scoffed again.

"You're not, though, are you?" [name] finally snapped, and anger flitted across Wonyoung's face, arms crossed over her chest.

"What's your problem today?" Wonyoung asked, and [name] laughed dryly in response. Are you kidding me?

"My problem? My problem is that my girlfriend is constantly canceling on me and coming home late, and I'm starting to think there's someone else." [name] says, words trailing off as she finishes speaking. It hurt to voice the idea again, but she couldn't stop herself.

"Seriously? You think I'd do that?" Wonyoung frowned, clearly hurt, and [name] reverted her attention to the floor.

"I just want honesty..! Otherwise, how could I stop myself from overthinking." [name] desperately said, tears pricking the corner of her eyes. She loved Wonyoung too much.

Wonyoung said nothing as she stood up, and not even thirty seconds later, [name] heard their front door slam, tears quickly falling from her eyes.

"Why? Why did I have to be so stupid?" [name] cried as she thought about their conversation not too long ago.

Had she just ruined everything?

-

"Maybe you would've avoided this if you'd just been honest, Wonyoung." Yujin chastised her, slipping a piece of chocolate past her lips.

Wonyoung just sighed desperately. She should've really been more honest, but she also didn't want to ruin the surprise.

And walking out had definitely only made things worse.

"Will you come with me tomorrow, then?" Wonyoung asked, changing the topic and momentarily pushing aside the heartbreak that was effusing through her.

"Of course. I may think you're stupid for what you did to [name], but you're still my best friend, Wony." Yujin consoled the girl, and Wonyoung weakly smiled. She was glad she had a best friend like Yujin to rely on.

"Thank you, Unnie."

[name] alerted to the ringing of her doorbell and got up from the couch, crossing to the front door, and peering through the peephole. On the other side stands Wonyoung, hiding a rather large box behind her. Without a thought, [name] opened the door.

"Wonyoung." [name] deadpanned, attention quickly diverting to the box on the floor beside Wonyoung's feet. It's got a bunch of holes in it, and [name] found herself confused by it.

"Can I come in? The truth is, I've got a surprise for you; that's why I haven't been with you much." Wonyoung pouted, shy and afraid. Curious, [name] moved from the doorway to allow Wonyoung and the large box in.

Once they settled in the living room, Wonyoung gestured towards the box.

"Open it." She softly said, and [name] sank to her knees in front of the box with a hesitant look. Gently tugging the lid from the box, her confusion trails off into shock as a gasp leaves her lips from the sight before them.

A small golden retriever puppy lies asleep in the box, its soft golden fur rising and falling as it breathes.

"Wony..." [name] trails off, confusion flooding through her again.

"It's for you. You said you get lonely when I'm not here, so I figured a puppy would maybe keep you company." Wonyoung shrugged, joining [name] on the floor, gently taking [name]'s hands in hers.

"Wonyoung. You didn't really have to get me this.. It's wonderful. Thank you." [name] frowned guiltily and faced her girlfriend properly, gently kissing her rosy lips before turning back to look at the puppy.

"I'm sorry for not being more honest with you. I spent so long trying to find the perfect puppy for you that I started neglecting you in turn. I'm really sorry, my love." Wonyoung apologized, her voice gentle, and [name] smiled in response.

"It's okay, I understand and forgive you." [name] smiled softly.

Wonyoung beamed and shifted away, gently picking the puppy up from the box and handing it to [name]. She took the puppy in her arms, was gentle with it, and smiled adoringly.

"Hi cutie.~" [name] cooed at the confused puppy, gently kissing it on its nose, while Wonyoung stood beside her, watching the two interact with love in her eyes.

"Now, what should we name the new member of our family?"
