"I'm sure you know this one." Your professor asked, calling out your name and pointing at a potion nearby. His voice had snapped you out of your thoughts, and you looked down at the familiar potion, steam rising from it. "Amortentia, sir." You held your chin up and confidently said, "The most powerful love potion in existence. It produces a strong infatuation in the drinker." You have answered carefully. "Correct! Now, why don't you go and take a whiff of it? I'll let you all have a sniff. " He gestured towards the steamy potion.

You walked over to the potion and leaned over to smell it.

Cinnamon, a hint of honey, and fresh basil.

You immediately knew who it smelled like.

It was obvious.

You've had a crush on Kim Gaeul ever since third grade. The scent followed you everywhere when you were with her. And honestly, if someone made a candle that smelled exactly like her, you wouldn't mind at all.

Your professor then called out your name once again,

"Sorry. Um, I smell cinnamon, a hint of honey, and fresh basil." You muttered, glancing off to the side where Gaeul was standing. You let out an embarrassed huff, looking away.

"Wonderful!" Your professor clapped his hands together. It took a while for everyone to smell the potion. Everyone but Gaeul. It makes you even more nervous. She probably knew you liked her.

"And Ms. Kim! C'mon, you're the last one. " Your professor motioned for the Hufflepuff to come over, which she did. Gaeul leaned down to sniff at it, and her eyes widened in surprise.

Old books, Vanilla and Jasmine,

The scent filled her mind, and she knew it most definitely smelled like you. "Kim Gaeul?" Your professor waited for the Hufflepuff to respond.

"Oh, Sorry Professor. I smell P-Peppermint, Lavender, and cold air. " She quickly lied, avoiding your gaze. You felt your heart sink, but kept a fake smile on your face, not wanting to worry anyone. Of course, she didn't like you.

You guys were just friends.

It's been a week since you last spoke to Gaeul. Sure, you had tons of friends, but they weren't Gaeul. It's not like you were ignoring her. It was the opposite, actually. She started the day she found out she liked you.

Of course, you didn't know that.

Sometimes, you would sneak out of the dorms and sit by the black lake, letting your tears take over. You didn't know what you did wrong for her to suddenly stop talking to you. You just assumed it was bad.

All you knew was that you wanted your best friend back.

Every time you saw her, she was always with Wonyoung too. Of course, she probably smelled her in the Amortentia, and now they're dating. It would make sense, though. Even though you shared the same fondness for magical creatures, Wonyoung and Gaeul seemed to spend more time nurturing hurt animals.

"You'd be a better girlfriend." Your friends would say and you'd agree. However, the choice isn't yours, it's Gaeul's.

It's not like you can decide who she should love. You can only give your opinion on things. You sighed, sitting in the Great Hall. You were good friends with Wonyoung. Being in Slytherin had nothing to do with it, but since you were good friends, maybe you should go ask her?

You found her wandering around in the Slytherin Common Room. "Wonyoung! Wait up!" You quickly walked over to her. She stopped and turned to you with a curious look. "You're the only one Gaeul's talking to right now. And well, I just want to know if I've done something wrong..." You eagerly looked at her for an answer, any answer. Wonyoung widened her eyes, "No! Of course not! I think she's just..confused..." She said, nervously.

Your curiosity got the better of you, and you asked, "Confused? About what? " You were Gaeul's best friend. She told you everything. But when she didn't tell you everything, you knew not to intrude.

But in this case, you needed to know. It was the reason she was ignoring you.

"It's not really my place to tell you." She awkwardly said, which frustrated you even more about the situation. "But, why don't you go ask her yourself? Just corner her in the library. She's been spending more time in there." Wonyoung shrugged her shoulders casually.

"Thank you, Wonyoung!" You ran out of the common room, ready to find Gaeul and confront her. You just had to know why. But what if she ignored you because she didn't like you back and didn't want to be your friend anymore?

The thought of it scares you. You didn't want to lose her. She was your everything. And you couldn't lose everything. Could you?

You stood in front of the library, lifted your hand to place it on the doorknob. You started shaking, "Okay, relax. Gaeul isn't like that. It's not like she's going to murder you. But... Murdering me is not the worst thing she could do." You took a deep breath and opened the doors, slipping inside. You looked around and spotted a tuft of silver hair behind a bookshelf. You found her sitting at a table, holding up an old book. You snuck up from behind her and threw your arms around her.

She let out a shriek, and you covered her mouth by slapping your hands over it, "Shh!" You hushed into her ear. The tips of her tears turned red, and she stammered something incoherent. You pulled away from her and sat beside her,

"Gaeul. I'm tired of you ignoring me. Please tell me what I did. If... I did something. It's hurting me." You looked into her beautiful brown eyes, which were swirling with emotion. "You did nothing! I just... Well, the reason why I'm ignoring you is that... I r-realized I like you. Like a lot." Gaeul stuttered.

"You...You ignored me because... you like me?" You stared at her in confusion. "Not necessarily. I ignored you because... You deserve someone better than me." She looked down in shame.

You grabbed her cheeks and made her look at you,

"Gaeul. I love you."

You watched as her cheeks turned red, which made you laugh a bit. "I love you because you are so goddamn adorable, and I love how you take care of your creatures. I love your short, silver hair, and your cheeks, and your beautiful, beautiful eyes, and your sweet personality and-"

Gaeul cut you off by pressing her lips against yours, and you blinked. It felt like you were kissing each other for hours until she pulled away and sheepishly smiled.

You pouted at her, "You interrupted me." She laughed, "You had more to say?" She wrapped her arms around you, resting her chin on your shoulder.

"Yup. And I love how dorky you are; it's adorable. You're adorable. I love everything about you. And I hate how other girls are eyeing you from afar because you're mine." You grinned. "I never took you as the possessive type." She whispered in your ear.

"Shut up." You muttered.

"I see you guys made up," Wonyoung said, staring at you guys from beside a bookshelf. You both yelped and stared at her with wide eyes.

"Fortunately we did. Or else I wouldn't have known what to do if I still didn't get to confess my feelings." The silver-haired girl spoke, her eyes never leaving yours. "Well, you have nothing to worry about now because I did all the work!" You cheekily smiled at Gaeul, making her roll her eyes and capture your lips once again.

"Ugh, get a room, lovebirds! Disgusting!" Wonyoung faked a barf, making the two of you laugh once again.
