Twenty Two- The Last Chapter

Spencer appeared back in the basement, looking down. He sighed in relief, running his fingers through his hair. He turned around, looking at the others. They all glanced around.

Fridge smirked, "HELL YES!"

Tillie laughed at his antics.

"Fridge is back."

Bethany held her hands to her stomach, "I will never complain about my own body again." She grabbed her chest, "They're back, oh thank god."

Tillie smiled, "It's good to be back in my own body."

Fridge grinned down at her, "Well hello there gorgeous."

Tillie shook her head, "Don't start."

He walked forward, holding out his arms. She looked at him, as he motioned her forward. She grinned before jumping into his arms. They both stood there, enjoying each other's embrace.

Bethany stopped, "Where's Alex?"

-

The five students walked down the neighborhood street. Tillie motioned for them to stop, "Look guys."

Fridge stood by her, "Is that Freak House?"

They all stared at the massive house. Outside of the entrance of the home, hung different Christmas decorations.

Spencer spoke up, "Do you...?"

"That means, maybe Alex.."

They all watched a silver van pull up outside of the home. Out ran a little girl screaming, "Grandpa!" A grown man got out of the driver's seat, and spoke out. "When you get a second, could you help us dad?"

The man turned, and made eye contact with the teens. "Dad, could you give me a second?"

The man's father nodded.

The man walked over to the group. He stared at each individual. He smiled, "Is that you Bethany?" She grinned.

He pointed at Spencer with thought, "Spencer?"

Spencer laughed.

He looked over at the small redhead, "You must be Ruby." Martha smiled.

He motioned to the tall male, and smaller blonde by him. "That must make you Fridge, and I'm gonna guess Tillie. You look a lot like your cousin." Fridge waved, as Tillie nodded her head.

"I'm so glad to see you guys."

Bethany smiled, "Alex, you made it back."

He nodded, "Yeah I did. The game spit me back out right where I started. So it sent me back to 1996."

Spencer spoke up, "What about your parents and the house?"

Alex motioned, "That's all good."

Bethany responded, "So you're an adult now? Looks like you have a family."

He nodded, and then sent her a grin. "I do yeah." He motioned down to the car seat, "This is my son Andy." The teenagers smiled at the baby."

"My daughter, the one that ran into the house, her name is Bethany. We named her after the person who saved my life."

Bethany smiled genuinely. Tillie patted her on the back, and smiled.

"I'm so stoked to be back."

-

The outside of Brantford High School was filled with the chatter of student life. Everyone talking about what happened over the weekend. Who was dating who, who cheated on who.

Spencer walked up to the school, grinning. Fridge ran up to him, "Hey dude." They fist bumped.

As they walked past, they watched Bethany try to tell her friend about her new found love of nature.

"You want to go backpacking, why?"

Bethany nodded, "Yeah." Bethany waved by to her friend, as she jogged up to the boys.

"Anything interesting happen to you guys?"

They laughed, "Not that I can think of?"

Spencer responded, "Has anyone talked to Martha lately?"

Bethany spoke, "I was texting her this weekend. She was hanging out with Tillie." They all stopped, seeing Tillie and Martha talking in the distance.

Fridge smiled. "There she is."

"Go get your girl."

Spencer jogged over to the girls, Tillie taking that as her cue to leave. Tillie made her way over to Fridge and Bethany.

Fridge leaned down, kissing Tillie on her forehead. "Hey."

Tillie smiled, "Missed you."

"I missed you too."

The three of them watched as Spencer worked up enough courage. He leaned forward, kissing her.

Fridge joked, "He smoldered."

Tillie laughed.

The drums of Jumanji began beating. The group all looked at each other.

-

A bowling ball smashed the gaming system to pieces. Spencer nodded with a grin as Fridge looked at him. The group grabbed their backpacks, and walked off back to school.
