four.

after the whole incident inside the store, seraphina was extremely creeped out by it all. the fact that cal had a gun and was so close to using it scared her.

her uncle was out of town, something to do with an old friends wedding, so she was all alone.

it was around midnight when she decided to go on a bike ride to clear her head, peddling past the park. she was going to stop at rue's, but decided against it.

a black truck drove past and as she rode past it, slightly moving her head to see who was out so late, seraphina nearly fell off of her bike.

cal jacobs stared back at her, eyes squinted as he slowed down. however, she didn't, and instead sped up until she was off the street and down a back alley.

pulling over, she hopped off her bike and tried to catch her breath, but much to her dismay, two peoples voices could be heard near her.

turning her head, ashtray came into view and she cursed to herself as he made eye contact. he was obviously doing a drug deal and when he took notice of you, he hurried it along and began walking to you.

"yo, what's good, ma?" he asked, backpack slung over his shoulder. "i just saw cal fucking jacobs, and he really creeped me out," she breathed out, resting her body against her bike.

"yeah, i been seeing him around a bit. thought he was following me, but i dunno," he shrugged, watching as seraphina put her leg over her bike.

"i better be going," seraphina muttered, eyes trained ahead as she heard ashtray snicker. "it's the middle of the night, let me give you a ride."

"oh, no, i'm fine-"

"seriously, get in the car."

she decided to not argue and walked to the car, ignoring the way ashtray's harsh voice sent shivers down her spine. as he started the car, she put the bike in the trunk and settled in the passenger seat, fastening her seat belt.

at ash's questioning look, she giggled and said, "with the way you drive, i ain't looking to die tonight."

"carry on annoying me and a car crash is the least of your worries."

rolling her eyes, seraphina stared at ash, "wow, i thought we were having a friendly moment there."

he snickered and made eye contact just before driving off, whispering something under his breath that she didn't quite catch.

seraphina leant her head against the window and liked the fact he was driving in silence, no talking or radio on. it was peaceful.

before she knew it, she felt the darkness take her over and she fell asleep, with ashtray next to her rolling his eyes at her asleep figure.

seraphina awoke with a headache, and as she turned over to check her draw for paracetamol, she didn't feel it. opening her eyes, they flickered open and she was met with a boyish room.

"what the fuck?" she whispered, pulling the covers back and stretching her limbs. she had no idea where she was, not remembering anything from the night before.

stepping out into the hallway, everything suddenly became clearer as she saw faye and fez in the living room, smoking a blunt.

"why am i here?" she asked fez, a yawn leaving her throat whilst she asked the question. fez looked up from his spot and smiled at her, explaining that she fell asleep last night.

"i should probably go, but thank ash for me, yeah?" but when she went to leave the house and opened the front door, she gasped and rushed back into the house when she saw who was outside.

"holy shit!"

ashtray, who had been in the back room tending to his grandma, heard seraphina and came out, confusion evident on his face.

"what is it?"

"he's outside, right now."

she didn't need to explain who because he just knew.

"fucking creep," he scoffed, rushing to the couch and grabbing a gun that was stuffed behind it. "yo, fez. i'mma go get this idiot."

"so first, you come to my fuckin' job, asking all these weird ass questions like the feds. then i find you out in front of my house. what the fuck are you doin' man?"

"you're free to call the cops."

"why the fuck would i do that?"

"well, it's either call the cops, let me go or...kill me," cal retorted, voice calm which surprised seraphina. ash had the gun pointed to his head, which most people would not be calm about.

"you don't want the cops involved," seraphina muttered, arms crossed as she stared over at him. cal smirked for a minute and responded, "what makes you think that?"

"what the fuck, man? what's with your family? are you all just a bunch of fucking assholes?"

"you beat up my son."

"yeah, well, he deserved it man. he's a fucking bitch."

"oh, okay tough guy," and before she knew it, ash had hit the gun across his head, causing her to step back from where she was stood, shocked.

"why did you do that?"

"cause you're in no position to talk shit." ash said, gun pointed back at his head. ash hit again and again, going on about how he should ring the cops, knowing full well he wouldn't.

"i told you," seraphina and ashtray both said in unison. faye passed the blunt to seraphina who took a few drags before turning back aroun, eyes watching cal.

"i know you and your drug addict friend, that girl."

"wait, you going on about rue?" seraphina asked, stepping forward and cal looked up, blood dripping down his face.

"yeah, her."

"you're trying to extort my son," he finished, wiping the blood off his face. "what?" fez asked.

"because of what i did to her friend."

"what the fuck are you talking about man?"

"you know, the blonde?"

"who? jewel?" fez asked, eyes squinted as he and everyone else tried to make sense of whatever the fuck cal was going on about.

"look, man, i didn't know she was seventeen," cal groaned and seraphina laughed to herself. "holy crap." she finally had sense of the situation.

cal had sex with jules.

"you tellin' me you had sex with jewel?"

"who's jewel?" faye asked, wondering if she'd ever heard that name. it seemed familiar and seraphina would have told her but she was loving the drama.

"i just want the disc."

"what disc?"

"of jewel and i," he finished and seraphina's eyes widened, a grimace on her face. "yo, you recorded that shit?"

"i didn't know."

"how do you not know you're recording something?" seraphina asked, squatting down and resting on the floor. she didn't listen to what they were saying, instead pulling her phone out her back pocket and seeing she had lots of missed calls of her uncle.

'why the fuck have i been told you were at a drug deal the other night?'

'answer the phone or you're gonna be in big trouble, kid.'

'i swear to god, get your ass home or i'm gonna kill you.'

seraphina groaned and put her phone back in her pocket, looking up to see ash and fez had walked off, leaving her with faye and cal.

"do you and your son-do you like, fuck people together?" faye asked, clearly high and you laughed at her question.

"you definitely do," seraphina smiled, eyes staring at cal who looked pissed. "yo, check it out man," fez said, walking back into the room with ash, who still had his gun.

"i'mma let you walk up out of here on one condition."

"anything," cal said, eyes tired and he sounded it too. ash was back with the gun at his head and seraphina wondered if he would actually kill him.

"you'll keep your bitch ass son, out of my fucking life, and rue's, and jewel's, till the end of fucking time. you understand?"

"i understand."

"now, i don't know shit about no fuckin' disc, man. that's not my problem. now get this motherfucker up outta her, ash."

seraphina stood with them, deciding to leave at the same time. "see you, guys."

they chorused goodbyes and she walked out with ash and cal, who stumbled over to his truck. "want a lift?" ash asked, and she decided against it, knowing her uncle was already pissed as it was.

and if she shown up at the house in a boys car, well, she'd be done for. "nah, but i could do with my bike though," she joked, pushing his shoulder as he walked to the boot.

picking it up, seraphina threw her leg over and sat on the seat, doing a mock salute before peddling away, not noticing how ash smiled brightly at her.
