best girlfriend ever

Reiner Braun protectively held a porcelain cup of tea in his left hand, as well as some pain killers in his right. He walked slowly through the barracks, using his full concentration to not spill a single drop. Reiner used the side of his hip to open the door to the girls dormitory, preparing himself to take care of you for the rest of the day.

However, he was left with a shock at what he witnessed in front of him: you had changed into some fresh clothes. You awkwardly attempted to walk, although you appeared like you were intoxicated. Your back was uncomfortably bent with a fatigued expression, tipsily rocking from side to side.

"Hey, Smith." Reiner's pearly teeth were grinding in frustration as your body flinched at the sound of his agitated voice, "What the hell do you think you're doing out of bed?"

"I left my jacket in the stables after my shift yesterday," You croaked, squinting to see his large silhouette walk closer towards you: "I'm so cold, I need to get that jacket."

"Jesus - I was only gone for five minutes! You're not going anywhere, not in this state." His stocky body tensed as he comfortably balanced his hands on his waist, "I won't let you."

"You won't let me?" Your E/C eyes spun back wards into your skull as you mockingly laughed at the blondes words, "What are you, my mother?"

"That's real' mature, Y/N."

He cringed whilst watching your attempt to walk further, before cursing beneath his breath. Reiner hooked his thick arm around your body, hoisting your body-weight in his arms with surprising ease.

"Bed. Now." He snapped.

You squirmed; you cursed at him angrily, but he ignored your every objection.

"Let me leave!" Your voice childishly whined, feeling Reiner release you from his embrace as he placed you against the soft quilt of your bed: "I need my jacket - do you want me to freeze to death?"

"You can wear my sweatshirt, but you're not leaving this room." He lifted the blanket, allowing you to enter the duvets of your own bed: "I can't let you walk all the way to the stables in good conscience, and I'm sure as hell not walking there myself."

"But, then you'll get cold."

"Aw." The edges of his lips tilted into a fine simper, "Are you seriously worried about me, sweetheart?"

As Reiner carefully pulled the soft blanket up towards your chest, your brows cracked inwards: "I'm being serious, I wouldn't want you to be uncomfortable just for my sake. It's winter - it's already freezing."

"I can live with being a little cold."

The blonde began to reach down towards the bottom of his grey sweatshirt. He laced his fingers around, lifting it up his torso: the sweater caught on his shirt beneath, revealing the lower half of his sharp-abs. You diverted your gaze, not wanting him to catch you staring.

Reiner began to help you get inside of the thick, large sweat shirt: the first thing you noticed was the woody, hint of vanilla aroma that had rubbed off on the fabric. The sweatshirt smelt of Reiner, and you liked that. You buried your face inside of it, sighing gently with relief as your eyes fluttered shut. The warmth of his body still lingered in his clothes, radiating onto you like a blazing fire.

"Thank you, Reiner."

"Don't worry about it."

"No, Reiner. Thank you," You twitched your eyebrows together, your eyes still locked shut as you allowed the warmth of your bedding and his clothes to consume you: "For being so kind to me. Even though I don't understand why."

Reiner relaxed his body beside yours, his shoulder pressed against you: "Why do I need a reason to be nice to you?"

"I genuinely can't remember a single time I've ever been kind to you." Your voice escaped your lips as a rushed whisper, "Even after you saved my life during the battle of Trost, I only thanked Bertholdt. I did that because I wanted to make you angry; I wanted to make you pissed-off with me. I don't know why, I just did."

"I know," Reiner turned his chiseled cheek away from you, "But, if it helps, I can name a few times you've been kind to me. Even when I haven't deserved it."

You scoffed in response, awaiting for Reiner to elaborate.

"You covered for me on my duties whilst I was sick when we were still Cadets," Reiner's broad shrugged with a hint of a plain smile, gently nudging the side of your arm: "And, you let me borrow your notes before our final exam in titan anatomy."

"I only gave you those notes after you agreed to give me a portion of your rations for a week," You groaned, "That's not exactly selfless."

"Still, I appreciated it." The blonde carried on, "And the other day, you insisted on tending to my wound during a mission. Even though, you were far more injured."

"That doesn't make up for how mean I am to you all of the time."

Reiner leaned closer towards you, his fingertips brushing against yours. His thigh was now resting comfortably on yours as he tilted his head downwards towards you.

"Well, I'm not exactly the nicest to you, either." A shiver trickled up your spine at the touch of his skin against yours, your eyes now locking onto his, "And besides, I like that you're a bitch to me."

You briefly smirked, your noses now just an inch apart as you spoke to each other: "Oh, really now?"

"I do," Reiner responded with a confident chuckle, "It keeps me humble. Everyone else believes that I'm this level-headed, perfect, strong person, but I'm not. It's refreshing having someone who sees me for who I really am."

"A jack-ass?" You innocently giggled out loud, bringing your knees up to your chest as Reiner softly sighed at the sight.

"Yeah, a jack-ass."

Laughter filled the room as you both enjoyed the moment, before the door was forcefully opened as a few of your friends returned to the dormitory. They were coming back from breakfast to collect their belongings before heading out to their respective duties.

"I was wondering what you two were doing in here all alone!" Sasha teased you both with a flirty smirk, "You're both under the covers.. how scandalous."

"Please remember to lock the door next time," Ymir scoffed with a cold frown staining on freckled face: "I don't want to walk in on anything.. well, you know."

Reiner's bronze eyes rolled into his skull with a hoarse groan, arching his neck backwards: "We're both fully-clothed, don't be so dramatic."

"Please don't do anything on my bed." Mikasa plainly added with no hint of emotion.

"We aren't going to do anything at all, Mikasa." You replied, watching the girls all give you a sarcastic side-eye in response.

Your body grew ablaze with humiliation as you buried your face in your hands, attempting to hide from the comments of your friends.

"Y/N?" Christa began whilst tightening the laces of her work-boots, "Do you know where the key to the Stables is? Captain Levi told me that you might know."

"Usually, the Scouts on the night time shift leave it beneath a garden-pot outside." You croakily replied, feeling as Reiner Braun protectively drew your body in closer , "I'm sorry that I couldn't help you with stable-duty today."

"Please, just worry about gaining back your strength." The blonde girl sheepishly replied; her kindness was confusing in comparison to her behaviour an hour earlier, "We'll let you get some rest for today. Hopefully, by tomorrow you'll be feeling like yourself again!"

"Hopefully!"

As Christa began to walk away, readying herself to leave alongside the other girls, Reiner sighed beneath his breath.

"I think that Christa is right, you look like you could use some sleep." The blonde began to stand up out of your bed, brushing off his uniform, "Would you like a fresh cup of tea?"

Your eyes slowly darted across the female dormitory, landing on pretty-girl Christa Lenz. She brushed her soft, lusciously long locks off of her petite shoulder whilst cheerfully laughing at what Sasha had said.

"No," You whispered, not wanting your friends to hear you: "Reiner? Go with Christa."

"What?" The blonde male scoffed with disbelief at your suggestion, "But, I'm here to take care of you."

"And, I appreciate your help this morning, so let me repay you." Whilst subtly smiling, you decided to commit a selfless act: "Christa seemed like she could use some help with handling the horses today, you should offer her a hand."

Reiner's copper eyes widened, before glancing towards the beautiful-blonde: "You're sure that you'll be okay?"

Your body fell backwards onto your bed, already beginning to close your eyes as fatigue consumed you: "Leave already."

"You're the best girlfriend ever."

Reiner placed his hand on your cheek, before he gently planted a kiss against your forehead.

"Get some rest, gorgeous." Reiner spoke just loud enough for the girls to hear him, his eyes seriously locked onto yours: "I'll come check on you as soon as possible."

"Reiner!"

"Mhm?" He turned back towards you, raising his slender brow.

"Your sweatshirt. Do you want it back?"

"You can keep it," Reiner objected with a sultry smirk pried on his smooth lips, raising his hand defiantly: "It looks better on you, than it did me. You look pretty."
