sixteen

After I kissed Jules, I didn't really have anyone to talk to about it. And, to be honest, I felt like I wanted to.

I've never reached out to Olivia about stuff like this before. I've never reached out to her about anything. But, I felt like she'd know more about relationship stuff than I did. And, judging by how I'm kind of the only one at East Highland she's had more than five conversations with, I knew she'd be willing to talk to me.

Liv was the kind of person you trusted with these things. She wouldn't tell anyone. She didn't have a reason to unless it was just to be mean, and Liv wasn't mean unless you did something to her. I knew I could talk to her, even if it would be a little weird.

"Holy shit." Olivia said, playing with the straw of her strawberry milkshake.

I asked her to go to this diner off Melville so we could talk. I get it might be kind of corny, but she was down.

"Yeah. Do you know what I should do?" Rue asked her, her chocolate milkshake melting next to her. She hasn't touched it since they got there.

"I think you should talk to her. I know you haven't." Liv told her, putting her shake to the side as well.

"How do you know?" Rue asked.

"Would you have asked me to meet you here if you did?" She questioned. Rue chuckled and started playing with her straw, touching her shake for the first time.

"Thank you. I know this might be kinda fucking weird." Rue said. Liv let out a small laugh.

"It wasn't. But hey, I have to get going. I'm going over to Fez's. Want to come?" She asked. Rue shook her head, pulling out some money from her pocket and counting it.

"I'm okay. I promised my sister I'd help her study." Rue told her.

Which, was a lie. But forgive me, I didn't feel like third wheeling with Fez and Liv. Even though they might deny it, I know they flirt a lot.

"Okay. I'll see you. Oh, and don't worry. I got it." Olivia said, throwing some cash on the table. She got up and walked out before Rue said anything, giving her a smile.

When Olivia got home that night, she got a weird text from BB.

Today
BB 9:13 PM

Yo, you didn't tell me u and my dealer were fucking?

what?

Fezco. You guys are hooking up?

no
where did you hear that

Kat told me

"Fuck." Liv whispered to herself. Her heart started to race, but she focused on the conversation.

talk to me tomorrow

Ok?

And, just like BB said she would, she met up with Olivia during lunch.

"Girl, you got your cherry popped!" BB said, grabbing Liv's hands and jumping up and down. Olivia didn't find it very funny, and she covered BB's mouth to keep her from being too loud.

"Shh! There has been no popping cherries." Liv said, staring at BB and talking quietly.

"Huh?" BB asked.

"Look, I don't know where the fuck Kat got that from but it's not true." She explained.

She didn't like lying, but when she did she was very convincing. She didn't want anyone to find out her and Fezco were even friends. If they knew Olivia Jackson, the girl who had all her shit perfect and figured out was hanging out with the most popular dealer at East Highland, she'd be ruined.

"Oh, shit. Really?" BB asked. Liv nodded.

"Yes! You can't tell anyone. It'd just be a lie." She lied. BB nodded, her eyebrows furrowed. She saw how worried Olivia was about this, and it didn't really make sense to her anyways. Why would Olivia hang out with someone like Fez?

"Okay. Okay, I got you." BB said.

"Good. Do you know where Kat is?" Olivia asked.

"She should be on her way to lunch now. Why?" BB asked, even though she already had an idea.

"I'm gonna fucking kill her." Liv said, kind of talking to herself.

She walked away from BB, BB honestly nervous for Kat. She knew how much power Olivia had in this town. She could pretty much get away with anything she wanted if she handled it right.

Kat saw Liv coming down the hallway angrily, and her eyes got wide. She tried to hurry away, but the hallway was too crowded and she couldn't get away. She was screwed.

Liv wasn't a mean girl. But, when she was mad, she was brutal.

"Okay. Seriously? What the actual fuck is wrong with you?" Liv asked.

"I only told BB." Kat explained, trying to defend herself. Olivia spoke up as soon as Kat finished her sentence. She didn't really care what Kat had to say.

"I get you don't know much about relationships since no guy has ever actually been into you, but they kind of are supposed to remain private between the girl and the guy." Olivia said, talking quickly.

"Olivia, I.." Kat started. Liv cut her off.

"And I get you're sad there's no one who wants to fuck you, because let's be honest, no normal person at this school does. But that doesn't mean you can go around spreading rumors about me fucking someone else. Me and Fez haven't even had sex." Olivia told her. She was talking extremely quickly, and she was very angry. Even though she was talking so fast, though, each word sunk into Kat's mind. She started to tear up.

"I'm sorry." Kat said. Liv shook her head.

"Yeah. Well, that's not fucking good enough." She said. Neither of the girls said anything for a moment, Liv just burning into Kat's eyes.

"I don't know if your jealous of me, pathetic, or just plain stupid, but I'm not gonna say you can't tell anyone else. You can. But if you do, I promise I will fucking ruin you, you're life, and everything you've ever worked for." Olivia said. Her voice was now eerily calm, and she talked slower. Kat didn't let any tears go down her face, but she knew Liv could still see them.

"It's your choice." Liv told her. She looked Kat up and down before walking away. The bell rang, but Kat continued to stand there even after the teens went off to their classes.
