olivia jackson's funeral was beautiful.

fezco and her parent's came together to plan a wonderful, respectful ceremony. everything was decorated with bouquets that consisted of white roses and pink flowers. her body was buried in a white and gold casket, right outside of st. matt's church, the same church mr. and mrs. jackson got married in.

everyone from east highland had showed, and the high school kids were a little taken back at how fancy the food and scenery was. at the viewing, champagne was served by waiters and little cocktail foods were open to eat.

mrs. jackson gave a wonderful eulogy.

fezco wanted to talk, but olivia's parents wouldn't let him.

lots of people had very nice things to say. they talked about how great she was, and how far olivia would've gone in her life. her parents were proud. fezco was devastated. i was guilty. and the rest of her friends were shocked.

because, let's face it, no one expected olivia jackson to die of an overdose, and for a random friend her parents didn't even know she had to find her in her bathtub.

liv's parents got out of east highland for good and settled down in crema, italy, a town liv had always wanted to visit.

nate and cassie moved in together after cassie got pregnant. they had their problems, but were making it work for the baby. maddy found someone else and owned her own nail and tanning salon. kat stopped making videos online, broke up with ethan, and became a lawyer. she lived by herself in an apartment in new york city. jules, who also lived in new york city, ran her own clothing line. elliot modeled for jules' clothes and helped promote her business. ayson stayed with christina, the girl he told to screw fezco. turns out, they were good for each other.

fezco got out of the drug dealing business and went back to school for his bachelor's degree. he ended up marrying lexi, a small town girl who became a director. they lived in the hills with ashtray around where olivia's old house used to be.

i got sober. it took a lot of shit, but i did. and, even though me and jules weren't together anymore, we were still good friends. i decided to go to nursing school like my dad wanted me to. i wanted to help people like him as best i could.

everyone had moved on with their lives. and, eventually, olivia jackson just became a sad story parents would tell to their kids to get them to not fall into peer pressure at parties. "don't do drugs. you don't want to end up like her."

at least, that's how olivia hoped things would be after she od'd.

because she expected to die.

she did die.

"hello, ma'am. i'm happy to see you up. could you tell me your name?" dr. gonzalez asked, smiling down at the girl in the hospital bed. there was a monitor beeping next to her. she had cords and plugs attached to her body, and was incredibly confused.

"um...olivia. olivia jackson."

but only for a second.

dr. gonzalez wrote something down on his paper that was attached to a clipboard.

"and you're date of birth?" he asked.

olivia looked around the room. there wasn't much sunlight, only one window that was half covered with blinds. in the corner of the room, there was a bouquet of flowers sitting there.

white roses with other pink flowers inside.

"what happened?" olivia asked. the doctor wrote something else down, then put his clipboard behind his back.

"i understand this might be confusing, but your body needs time to get things out of your system. your friends can come in for now, but a nurse will be in shortly. i'm glad to see you're okay. it's a miracle you're awake, ms. jackson. my guess; you're guardian angel saved you. and if you're not a believer, maybe you just got lucky." the doctor explained.

he adjusted his glasses on his head and gave olivia one last look before leaving the room. he whispered something to someone outside, leaving the door open.

then, rue walked in.

"rue? what's going on?" liv asked, sitting up. she found it hard to move, and she didn't know if it was just because she was really high from what the doctor's gave her or just sore.

"how are you feeling?" rue asked, shutting the door. liv shrugged.

"i would feel a lot better if i knew what happened." she said.

rue sighed and sat down on the bed by olivia's feet. she stared down at the ground.

"i wanted to apologize for not answering your phone calls in person. so, i went to your house. when you didn't answer the door and i saw your car was outside, i felt like something was wrong. so i climbed in your bedroom window and looked around the house. when i opened the bathroom door, i saw you laying in your bathtub. at first you didn't do anything. then i tried my best to give cpr and you kept seizing, so i called fezco and we took you to the hospital." rue explained.

olivia's face didn't change as she listened to her friend. she remembered running a bath, and then she fell asleep and went swimming. and even though it was beautiful, that was all that happened.

"where's fezco?" olivia asked next. rue pointed over to the flowers that were on the counter.

"he, uh, went out and got you those earlier. now he's downstairs in the cafeteria getting us water." she went on.

liv nodded, but stopped and started to shake her head.

"rue, i..i'm so sorrry." she tried. rue cut her off by leaning onto her and giving liv a hug. they nuzzled their heads into each other's necks, both girls crying.

"i'm just happy you're okay." rue said.

liv's overdose brought up a lot of baggage for rue. she knew what liv was going through, and it was kind of an eye opener for how gia felt. she loved olivia, and hated to see how she put herself and her body through that.

at the same time, she understood why she did.

rue pulled away and wiped her own face before wiping liv's. they both laughed at how ridiculous they looked.

they then stared at each other, their faces close. before either of them said or did anything, a new person was standing in the doorway.

it was fezco, two bottles of water in his hand.

rue got up quickly and looked at fez, then at liv, then back at fez again.

"i'll let you guys talk." she said, leaving the room. she shut the door behind her, fez walking in.

he put the bottles of water on the counter next to the flowers be brought. then, he sat in a chair that was facing the bed liv was laying on, waiting a moment before speaking.

"you scared the shit of out me."

"i know." olivia nodded.

"you told me you'd be fine."

"i know." she nodded again.

fezco leaned forward and put his head in his hands. olivia stared at him, hoping he would say something positive after all the negative.

"i can't...i can't loose you, liv. i don't think you understand that." he said.

"you lost me when you told me you didn't want to be with me." olivia shook her head yet again. she would cross her arms, but they were too heavy and there were too many cords.

"it's not that i don't want to be with you, it's that i can't." fez defended.

olivia looked away from him. she didn't have the strength, physically or mentally, to deal with any of this right now.

"but it was wrong of me to push you out of my life completely." fezco went on, slightly thinking to himself. olivia turned back at him and gave him a tired look.

"what are you saying?" she asked.

"i'm saying i want my best friend back. and we don't have to be dating or nothing, but, after this i'm realizing how much i truly can't live without you."

olivia thought for a second. she started tearing up, and fez could see from across the room. he got up and started walking toward the hospital bed.

"come here." he said, engulfing liv's body into a hug. he was careful because he knew she was fragile and delicate with the situation that had happened.

he sat up by her chest on the bed, holding olivia as she had her face at his chest. he placed his head on top of her, stroking her hair.

"we'll start over. okay?" he asked.

she nodded.

"okay."

rue watched them from outside the room, looking through a window. she quickly wiped a tear from her cheek, looking away.
