night three ;

august 12
7:56 p.m.

"we just keep bumping into each other don't we?" a familiar voice spoke from behind her.

the brown-haired girl turned, "oh, hello."

"hey hey," he waved back, making his way towards her.

"what're buying?"

"eggs."

"that's it?"

"... uh, that's all i need, so yeah."

"i see, are you going to cook something tonight?"

she silently stared up at the boy, what's up with him? they were strangers who met twice and he's already talking to her like they were friends.

"yeah," she nodded.

"oh, what are you cooking?"

"fried noodles."

"you like noodles?"

"yes."

"me too! i think they're much better than rice, i mean hey, there's many..."

the two of them continued talking as they walked around the grocery store. sometime during the conversation, the girl had absentmindedly followed the boy around.

she had only came here to get some eggs, but by the end of the day, her basket was filled with three packets of potato chips, some chocolate buns, two bars of candy, a huge packet of chocolate marshmallow, two cans of coke, a tub of ice cream and a box of strawberries.

she didn't even remember putting them in there.

"what's wrong?" the boy asked as they paid for their items.

"i... don't have enough money..." the girl looked down at the floor, feeling a little ashamed.

"oh, don't worry, i can pay for you," the boy offered, handing the cashier his credit card.

"i'll pay you back tomorrow, sorry," she sighed.

"it's no problem, i mean, you only came here for eggs and ended up with all that because of me," he smiled, "that's my bad."

what a nice smile he had. it looked so genuine.

"thank you," she thanked the boy as he paid for her items.

the two walked out of the store with plastic bags in their hands.

"do you need help carrying those?" the boy offered.

"no, it's fine. i'll be going now," she gave him a slight bow.

"oh, okay then, i'll see you tomorrow," he waved back at her as she disappeared from his sight.

tomorrow? what made him so sure they were going to meet again tomorrow?

for the first time in a while, the girl looked forward to waking up the next day.

there. a small change in her life.
