The doorbell rang when we were still eating breakfast.

"That should be Yoohyeon," I said. "Can I open the door?"

My mother nodded, so I stood up and walked towards the front door.

Yoohyeon smiled at me widely as I opened it.

"Sorry. I'm a bit early," she said.

"It's okay. Come in." I stepped aside and Yoohyeon entered the house.

She followed me to the Dining room.

"I'm sorry. I hope I'm not interrupting something," she said when she saw that the table was still set.

"You aren't," my mom said with a smile.

"I just need to change, then I'm ready," I said.

I quickly rushed to my room to change my clothes, then I re-entered the dining room.

"Alright, I'm ready."

"Let's go then," Yoohyeon smiled.

I hugged everyone except for Jaehyun who was flawlessly ignoring everything.

"Goodbye," I said.

"Have fun," my mother said.

"Thanks."

With that I followed Yoohyeon outside where a black car was already waiting for us.

"One question," I said. "Why are all the cars of rich people black?"

Yoohyeon shrugged. "I guess because it's inconspicuous."

We reached the car and she opened the door for me.

"What a gentleman," I chuckled while placing myself on the seat.

Yoohyeon looked offended. "Excuse me? Do I look like a boy?"

"What a gentlewoman," I corrected myself.

"That's right."

She closed the door and walked around the car to sit down beside me. The chauffeur started the engine.

"We will drive for a few minutes now," Yoohyeon said. "My house is more on the outskirts."

"It's okay," I smiled. "We can talk."

"Sure. What about?"

"I don't know."

"That's bad."

"Kinda."

It was quiet for a minute.

"So.... What does your dad do for a living?" I asked to build up a conversation.

"He is the CEO of a big company," Yoohyeon replied proudly.

"Really? What company?"

"Shinhan Financial Group," she said. "Banks and so on. I have no clue of that stuff."

"You're not that CEO type, are you?"

"Nope. Not in the slightest. But he still wants me to take over the company."

"But you'd rather keep singing, right?"

"I thought of becoming an Idol," Yoohyeon said. "But my dad doesn't support that."

"That's sad. I think you'd do well as an Idol, actually."

"He said I could continue singing and stuff, as long as I don't do it under a company."

"Why don't you just do it?" I said with a mischievous smile.

"I would never," the black haired girl admitted. "I love my dad. And when he says I can't do that, I won't do that. I don't want him to be disappointed in me. So I'll do what he wants, even though I won't be happy with it."

"But you can't live with something that doesn't make you happy!" I argued.

"That's right." Yoohyeon looked outside of the window. "But I am the last one that could if it should stay as a family enterprise. He doesn't want to give it to anyone else. So I understand that. And I don't want to dissapoint him."

"Makes sense," I said.

"What about you? What do you want to do?" she asked.

"Actually I have no clue. I thought of opening a cafรฉ but I need money for that and we're not exactly rich."

"If I was you, I'd start by working in a cafรฉ first and save money."

"I thought of that too but I don't feel like it anymore."

"You don't feel like opening a cafรฉ?"

"Not really. That was a childhood dream," I said.

"Well, I'd be a regular."

I laughed. "My mom had a cafรฉ, but she gave it to her brother."

"Why don't you start working there?"

"It's sadly located in Daejeon. I don't feel the urge to go back."

"You're from Daejeon? That's cool. My hometown is boring."

"The only thing that's happening there are crimes," I disagreed.

"That's more than in Incheon. There's just nothing."

"Incheon? I always wanted to go there."

"Don't do that. It's boring."

"But there are many things. I looked on the Internet. What about Songdo Central Park? Or the Chinatown? Songwol-dong Fairy Tale Village? That doesn't sound boring at all," I listed.

"Well..."

"Then why do you say nothing is happening there?" I wondered.

"Because it's true. There's nothing exciting. The people are boring. The city is boring. The Central Park is boring-"

"It's okay, I got it. I will still go there," I chuckled. "You're just trying to save yourself right now."

"Kinda. Anyways, we arrived," she changed the topic skillfully when the car stopped. "I'll open the door for you."

Yoohyeon quickly got out of the car and walked around it, looking at me offended when she saw that I was already standing beside it.

"Alright," she said, pouting and turning away. "Come with me."

I chuckled and followed her.

Her house was a big mid-century building, painted in a warm sandy - beige like tone. It was surrounded by a small plot full of flowers and other plants.

"That looks beautiful," I said amazed.

"Thanks."

I caught up with Yoohyeon and linked my arm with hers. I saw that she smiled a little.

She unlocked the front door and dragged me inside with her.

"Wow," I said, looking around.

We were standing in an entrance hall which was a bit bigger than my bedroom and filled with antique things: Paintings, candle holders, vases and so on. There was even a chandelier hanging on the ceiling.

Yoohyeon covered my eyes with her hand.

"Don't look at all this like that. I don't like it. It's too much," she complained.

"Well, I think it looks good."

"If you think so... Put your shoes in there." She pointed at a small shoe cabinet beside the front door.

I did what she said and followed her through the door which led to a huge living room.

"Damn," I said.

"Don't curse!" Yoohyeon whispered in a warning tone. "My father is severe religious."

"Oh."

"What was that word?" a deep voice spoke and a middle aged man walked around the egde.

"I'm sorry," I immediately apologised.

"Is that your friend you wanted to bring?" the man asked Yoohyeon.

"Yes."

"Well, she has to learn some rules here in this house," the man said and laughed as if he just told a joke.

"I'm always willing to learn, Mr. Kim," I said smiling.

"Oh, just call me Daesang." Yoohyeon's father walked towards us and held out his hand to me.

"And you are?" he said when I shook his hand.

"Minji."

"Well then, nice to meet you, Minji. How did you meet my daughter?" he asked.

"I'm her boyfriend's sister," I replied.

"I could already guess that! You look similar to him." Daesang laughed again. I just smiled awkwardly.

"If you excuse us, dad," Yoohyeon threw in, "then we will go upstairs now."

"Sure, sure. Have fun," the man smiled warmly. "But don't dissapoint God."

"Dad! She's a friend!"

He laughed again.

"Let's go upstairs," Yoohyeon said with red cheeks.

I chuckled when she dragged me towards her room.

"Gosh, this man!" she said while closing the door.

"That's a cool room!" I said.

I looked around. There was a big bed, a desk, a huge wardrobe and many posters on the wall.

"You like Ed Sheeran, do you?"

"Yeah! He's my favourite singer! I even went to one of his concerts. Wait! I gotta show you something!"

Yoohyeon walked up to a bookshelf and took something from it.

"A signed CD!"

I pointed at a poster. "That poster is also signed."

"Yep! And this one here is too." Out of nowhere she held a guitar in her hands.

"That guitar looks expensive," I noticed.

"It was," Yoohyeon grinned.

"So you can play it?"

"Yes! But I only play songs from Ed Sheeran on it, because they're kinda easy to play."

"Well, I'm listening."

"You want me to sing?"

"Sure, why not?" I asked. "That what I came here for." I chuckled.

"Wait! That's not what we talked about!"

I laughed. "Well, that's ONE reason why I'm here."

"Good. Don't think I'll sit here all day and sing for you."

"I'd never think that."

"Okay... Which song should I sing?"

"The only Ed Sheeran song I know is Perfect," I said.

"Alright! Then I'll sing that song!" She sounded excited. "Uhm... You can sit on the bed." Yoohyeon pointed at it.

I sat on the bed and waited for her to get ready.

"Perfect is my favourite song from Ed Sheeran! I already covered it on YouTube," she said while placing herself on a chair and preparing her guitar.

"I saw it. Actually I don't really like that song. But when you sing it, I'll defenitly like it."

She smiled. "Thank you..."

Then she started to sing, when after the second verse her voice suddenly cracked.

"Ah sh-" Yoohyeon coughed and I laughed.

She glared at me. "Don't laugh."

"I'm sorry," I chuckled. "But that sounded funny."

"I will go and get me a glass of water. Do you want anything too?"

I shook my head. "No, thanks."

She left the room and returned after a minute. "Alright, we can continue."

After that I didn't even realise how fast the time passed by. We spent the day laughing, Yoohyeon singing, me trying to sing and she even laughed at me when my voice cracked.

"See, that was karma," she laughed.

"Well, there's one big difference," I disagreed. "You are singing way longer than me."

"Mistakes happens to the best," she pouted.

"Don't pout."

"Why not?" She pouted.

"That's unfair. You're distracting me."

Yoohyeon laughed at that. "Distracting from what?"

"From trying to sing."

"Alright, I'll try not to."

"Can you sing songs by Alan Walker?" I changed the theme.

"Only one song. The rest is too hard for me."

"What song?"

"Faded. But only because I can relate to that a lot right now." She averted her eyes on the ground.

"Oh, that sounds sad."

"It is, but I don't want to bother you with my problems. You've got your own."

"Do you really think you are bothering me?"

Yoohyeon smiled a little. "Most people I told are bothered by that."

"I am not."

"Do you really want me to tell you that?"

"You can tell me anything if you want."

"What tells me you are not some kind of psychopath?" She chuckled.

I raised an eyebrow. "Do I look like a psychopath?"

"Hmm, let me think about that," she joked. I glared at her.

"So, what is it? I'm curious."

"You know what this song is about?"

"About missing a person?"

"Right."

"And?"

"Well, I sang that song a lot after my brother died," Yoohyeon said. She bit her lower lip.

"Oh. I'm sorry..."

"You don't need to," she smiled. "That's why we moved here. My father said Incheon holds to many memories. It's been five months since he died."

"That's... Not long," I noticed.

"Not really. But I learned to live with it."

"May I ask how he died?"

"He had cancer. When the doctors noticed it was already to late and they couldn't help him anymore. He was only eleven..." She wiped a tear away.

I didn't dare to ask further because it looked like it wouldn't be a good idea. So it was quiet for a minute.

"Anyways, wanna continue?" Yoohyeon asked.

"What's the time?"

She looked on her phone. "Oh. It's already 8pm! How did time go by so fast?"

"Then I think it's time for me to go home."

"Yeah..."

We both stood up and she pressed a little button beside the door before leaving the room. In the living room we met her father.

"Who do my eyes see? You're still alive?" he joked.

Yoohyeon just glared at him.

"Woah, it's okay. No need to kill me."

"I will bring her home," his daughter explained and pointed at me.

Daesang stood up from the couch and came over to us.

"Well, then goodbye," he said, shaking my hand. "You can come over anytime again, if you want to. It was a pleasure to meet you."

"I sure will, if Yoohyeon wants to." I smiled politely.

"One question," I said as we left the mansion. "How old is your father? He looks very young."

"Thirty-five," Yoohyeon replied. "Yes, he was nineteen when I was born."

"Oh, that's really young. My father was almost thirty."

"Oof," she made. "I hope I am not that old when I have kids." She chuckled.

I grinned. "So you want kids?" I asked as we entered the car.

"I'm not sure yet. From what everyone tells about pregnancy I don't think I want that."

"Plus, you're only fifteen. I think it's not necessary that you think about that now."

"Exactly."

We spend the rest of the ride in silence. This time I waited for Yoohyeon to open my door.

"Goodbye then," I said and she smiled.

"Goodbye."

"I'll text you."

"Yeah."

I pecked her cheek and turned around to enter my house.

When I did, my father was just leaving the bathroom.

"Hello, my darling," he greeted me.

"Hi, dad."

"And? How was it?"

"It was fun. But I am tired."

"Then good night. But be quiet, Siyeon is already sleeping."

"Alright, good night," I said and hugged him shortly before making my way upstairs.

I opened and closed the door of my room quietly and turned on the nightlight.

Siyeon had curled up herself on the left side of the bed, facing the wall.

I looked at her for a few seconds.

She looks so vulnerable, I thought and smiled a little.

Then I changed into my pajamas and layed down beside her.

I thought for a second before I wrapped my right arm around her.

I stared after Minji amazedly until she disappeared behind the door.

Then I brought my hand to my cheek and smiled. Why did my heart beat so fast?

I slowly turned around and got into the car.

My god, what did this girl do to me?, I thought. I leaned back and stared at the chauffeurs head.

I spend the ride lost in my thoughts.

Would she like me back?

I slightly shook my head to get rid of this thought. But it just didn't want to go.

What a nonsense. You're her friend, you dumbass, my inner voice said. She will never see you as more than that. She's as straight as a line.

I clenched my fists. Wow, live's unfair.

I got out of the car and walked up to my house, going straight to my room.

My phone was still on the desk, so I took it and layed on my bed. As I switched it on, I saw that I had three missing calls and five new messages from Jaehyun.

What does he want now?

Jaehyun
