chapter two

FUCK, I GREW WINGS?!
hard on yourself - charlie puth, blackbear

"Obaa-san, what are you doing?"

Big grey doe eyes peered over the brown wooden table placed on the floor. A little girl dressed in a traditional kimono was seated with her hands on her lap as she stared at the delicate and skillful fingers making something. The fingers that her eyes followed moved like it was in a dancing routine, elegant and sharp, entrancing the young one for a few minutes.

The two people were situated in a traditional Japanese home, hardwood floors and sitting pillows in the living room as the clear skies and sunlight brought life into the house.

"My, I'm just making a yukata, my love," an angelic voice echoed the room. It sounded gentle and wise but held a slightly stern tone. The young girl felt safe when she heard the voice. She felt like she was being protected from the heavens as the older woman continued stitching and designing the cloth at hand.

The curious girl's eyes began to steer away from the entrancing motions, moving towards the white feathers at the back of the old woman. Her fingers delicately touched the small ones as they were the fluffiest. The wings began to flutter slightly, some tickling the little girl's face causing her to giggle and sneeze.

The next hour was spent like that - the older woman stitching in precision while the younger one kept her company, playing with her wings now and then.

"Finished, what do you think, Aiko?" The older woman held up the clothing. It was made of expensive silk but what caught the girl's interest was the art shown made by the very hands beside her. What looked like white fluffy feathers etched across the black yukata, floating from each other.

"Pretty!" The little girl exclaimed.

"Like obaa-san!" She added before pointing her chubby fingers to the soft white wings behind her grandmother's back. The grandmother laughed before petting the child.

"Don't flatter my heart like that, my love. I'm already so old," she replied, folding her creation before placing it aside. The two moved to sit formally sitting next to each other, facing their open garden and the bright blue sky.

"Obaa-san is always pretty, like mama! I want wings too like you," the little girl smiled, her eyes shaped like the crescent moon as she looked at her grandmother. Her grandmother gave her a closed smile, but her smile never reached her eyes. She began to fluff her wings, smaller feathers dropping from the base.

Glowing white feathers began to dance around the air, falling ever so slowly towards the little girl as she stood and ran into the garden to play with them. The feathers fell fast but moved slowly around the child when they tried to touch them.

"You might get it one day, my love. With or without it, you will also look the most beautiful to my eyes. No matter what because you're my angel,"

Pain. That was what Aiko felt when her mind was coming to senses and her eyes were fluttering open to see her grey ceiling. Her back was aching like there was a bone that needed to be cracked and her muscles were cramped and sore. Her vision was blurry at first before she sat up and rubbed her eyes to get rid of her sleepiness. She turned her head to see that she woke up earlier than normal but she can't go back to sleep once she's woken up.

That's weird...it's been so long since I've dreamt of obaa-san after her death.

Slowly, she checked her phone on social media and her text messages before getting ready for school. Her light footsteps bounced to the bathroom, humming a song as she stepped in and got ready to shower. She walked past her mirror bathroom, glancing at her reflection that shows her tired face and blinding white wings at her back.

She shrugged and went into the shower before gasping and running back to the small mirror. Her fingers gripped the sink, telling her that it was real as she stared back at herself, feathers and wings occupying the whole mirror and bathroom space behind her.

"W-wings? What the fuck?" She whispered. Her pupils dilating in shock as her whole body shook. Her fingers slowly raised, shaking as she softly touches the new body part at her back. The feathers that made contact with her fingers, fluttered, causing Aiko to shiver at the new feeling.

"This must be a dream...I must be dreaming," she whispered again, now bringing her shaky fingers to her cheeks and pinching it which left a red pulsing mark.

"Ow! That's hurts, oh god. Oh my god, oh no that means, FUCK!"Β  She mumbled before shouting. Her whole body went cold as she moved around, trying to see the thing behind her back with her very own eyes. That failed, however, when the feathers started shaking as well like it sensed her fear and worry. The situation made all the bottles and bathroom essentials near her fall to the floor when the wings pushed them off the shelf. Tears were slowly brought into her eyes.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?" She shouted, panting.

Aiko was in a lot of confusion. This had to be fake, this must be a dream was what she kept telling herself but her muscles and back were screaming at her with the truth. There are no such dreams with this much pain and realism. Aiko was about to have another panic attack before a knock sounded.

"Aiko, dear, are you okay? I heard a loud bang from below. Did you fall?" Her mother's honey voice muffled through the door.

Mom! No, wait should I tell her? Should I not? No, I can fix this, I think I can, this has to be something like a villain quirk or anything. It doesn't make sense but fuck I just grew wings overnight so common sense is out of the window.

"I-I'm fine! Uh I-I mean I think I'm sick so I won't be able to go to school today. Y-yeah you know, uhm high fever, bird flu- I mean cold flu!" She explained as she struggled to pick up everything that fell but every time she placed it and went back down again, her wings would make them fall again.

"Oh no, do you want me to take you to the doctor? I'm sending Ryo to school now but I can accompany you once I reach home," her mother worriedly stated.

"NO! Wait! As in it's fine! I'll go by myself, big girl you know haha! Just turned 18! Goddammit this shampoo bottle I will end your life if you keep dropping," she grits her teeth but tears were falling like rain droplets onto the floor. Her mother reluctantly agreed before her footsteps receded and their front door closed.

Aiko took a deep breath before calming herself. She knew that worrying wouldn't make it go away so she had to put logic into the situation.

After a few minutes of silence, Aiko quickly rinsed herself with a wet towel (because she knew wet wings was a big no) and opened the bathroom door to peek in her house. Noting that no one was home, she rushed to her bed and quickly changed.

But that failed.

Because her favorite fatgum merchandise shirt was torn to pieces because she couldn't fit her wings in it. Her eyes widened in bewilderment before she pouted in sadness.

"My baby...fatgum...I'm so sorry...that was limited edition too.." she sulked.

How in the hell am I suppose to wear my clothes?? Am I supposed to go naked now?

She looked at her full-body mirror in her room. Her wings were undeniably large for her stature. It was one and a half arm's length and was sweeping the floor with its height. Now, her wings were bunched up like a letter M. She scratched her head and rubbed her face.

God fucking damn it (Dave)

A/N: If you got this reference, you're my best friend

She sat on her bed, mind running for a few minutes until she facepalmed. How dumb could she be? She's not the only one with wings, there were others with demon wings, animal wings! She grabbed her phone and typed in 'How to wear clothes with wings' on Goooogle. Some results showed a shirt with wings but one particular article caught her interest.

A burning question from our very own hot #3 hero, Hawks! How does he wear his clothes when he has wings?

How convenient. God must be laughing at me right now.

She clicked onto it to see a wordy article with the very birdman himself planted as the thumbnail. His eyes shined with mischief but Aiko felt like he was laughing at her - like he was saying "how sad, you have to read this because you grew wings". She grumbled before scrolling to read it.

Fans have been dying to know the answer and have constantly been requesting us to ask the very own winged hero, Hawks, on how he wears his clothes. When prompted, he joked around saying "sometimes I don't wear anything at all, it's the best that way", which made many fans and most of the public swoon at his flirtatious comment.

Then, he stated that he used to cut holes from old shirts when his wings were smaller so that he could fit in but stopped for a week when he realized, he's not a great fashion designer! He laughed as he said that some of the holes he had cut were too big that others could see his whole back.

Imagine how hot that was with his back muscles shown to the public!

Presently, he announced that thanks to "Inclusive", a renowned fashion brand made to include every quirk, anatomy, and species on earth, they have helped to create a fashion line in collaboration with our very own Hawks. So, for winged people like our precious #3 hero, this line is just for you!

Check out the link below where the collaboration ranges from shirts and dresses to winter jackets and jumpsuits!

Check out our other link below to see our other interview moments with Hawks where he talks about his love life and his ideal type!

Aiko hummed and nodded in agreement, cutting up holes in shirts, huh?

Alright, the plan for today. Cut holes in the shirt, then run to the city to the Inclusive store and get as much shit as I can. Then panic and stress out about how to get rid of this.

With a goal in mind, she got to work. It wasn't hard for Aiko to cut holes through her old metal band shirt since she could roughly guess the measurement of her new body part. Once done, she looked over her results, satisfied that her holes were somewhat symmetric and neat.

After an hour of struggling to put on her shirt with her wings, she thanked the gods when she has managed to do so. Once she was all set, she grabbed her wallet and phone (even wearing her new necklace!) before fast pacing to the city located a few blocks away. She jolted in surprise when her phone dinged signaling a notification.

wannabe e-girl:

The grey-haired girl felt like vomiting as she placed her phone away. She never lied to her friends, not even her mother this morning. How long could she keep up with the lie when the very thing behind her is as large as Mount Fuji?

The short teenager huffed in annoyance. She had been walking around the city for 30 minutes and she couldn't find the shop 'Inclusive'. She knew it was in the central area but she hadn't shopped in months, probably a year because the school had taken up her time. She turned another corner, following the cement pathway and quiet road.

Aiko was glad that today was a weekday, which meant that no one was out in public much - also meaning no one would judge her for her wings and how she was shaking so much from the leftover panic this morning. Aiko wasn't used to her wings so naturally, she was worried about the public looking - staring - at her.

She was used to the attention but not that kind of attention. She turned another corner, almost wanting to give up when the bright sign 'INCLUSIVE' came into view. She squealed in happiness before running in, wanting to change into decent clothes as soon as possible.

Little did she know, there was a bored hero on patrol, shopping for clothes in there as well.

Some things you should know:

> Aiko literally means 'my love' or 'beloved'. So imagine how her first day in the UA was when everyone was teasing her about calling her their lover or wife.

> Aiko is one year older than the Big 3! She was held a year back in middle school because she had bad grades. Ever since then, she has topped her classes because she didn't want to disappoint her mother again.

> Ryo's quirk hasn't been developed yet but his mother sees signs that he would take his father's quirk instead (will come about in later chapters)

> Aizawa and Hayato first met during the parent-teacher conference in her second year where Aiko was troubled. They clicked in an instant - they're literally the definition of "opposites attract"

This one is a little shorter than the previous one, I hope it's fine! I've planned what to do for each chapter so her quirk explanation and much more will be coming soon :)
