chapter five

HER TRANSFER
you know it - colony house

"What do you mean I'll be getting a transferred student?"

The chimera poured himself an Earl Grey tea for both himself and the teacher on the couch. They were situated in his office after school as he had called upon one of his trusty staff for an important discussion.

"I understand that it's the middle of the school year but I think this transferred student deserves to be in the UA. A second chance. She's a little misguided in her life but I believe you can pave the way clearer for her. Once she knows her future, I'm sure she'll be one of the greatest hero known to mankind," the Principal explained as he placed sugar cubes in his drink.

The sleepy man eyed his superior. The being in front of him was smart - more intelligent than any average man on Earth - so his words were credible but he couldn't push away the thought that there was some underlying purpose in his actions.

"I'm a teacher. Not a babysitter or a career counselor. I still disagree with this special treatment you are giving this student. What makes her so special that even you are bending the tradition the UA has?" He questioned, touching the rim of teacup on the table.

After a sip, he got his answers.

"She came from Ketsubutsu Academy High School. She was recommended to join the UA in the beginning but rejected due to personal reasons. When she went to KAH, her attitude and lack of interest to study caused some difficulties."

Aizawa eyed the Principal.

"So, I say we take her in after talking to the head of the school. You expelled a student this semester right?"

"Yeah...he wasn't putting in any effort. Why should we guide this rebellious student then if she's the same like the one I expelled?"

"Great! She can replace him. For the latter, I wish to guide her for she's...the daughter of Chi No Sensi - the former Blood Warrior," the Principal stated as he placed his cup on the table. His eyes were locked onto his drink. Aizawa's eyes turned to saucers, his mouth agape. He had placed his cup down as well, shocked to hear the name Nezu had voiced out.

"You don't mean...the legendary combat fighter? The one that rivalled All Might when he was in his prime?!"

The small creature nodded in solemn. Aizawa was speechless to say the least. The legendary Blood Warrior was an anonymous hero that bears a powerful quirk known to mankind during Aizawa's teenage years. Strong was an understatement to describe her - no, she was like a god. Her very own name could cause shivers and fear to every villain out there. She was so powerful that crime rates decreased to almost a single number when she patrol certain areas, and even if there were large scale attacks, it would end in an instant if she was there.

However, years ago, she suddenly disappeared after one particular fight and was never seen again. The name Blood Warrior was then only recognised as a myth; a history that seemed impossible. After her disappearance, crime rates went up 80% causing the balance between heroes and villains to almost be upscaled if it weren't for All Might working 24/7 for months on end.

"You must be joking...how did you know it's their child? She remained to be anonymous and unidentified her whole career. The only thing we knew about her was her long hair and feminine voice - which the public interpreted to be a female," Aizawa exasperated. His fingers were slightly shaking. He used to look up to Blood Warrior. Him and many other heroes was inspired to keep fighting like her.

"I received a letter of recommendation from them. They had everything in detail, even some information that only Blood Warrior would know," he nodded, smiling at the sleepy man.

He had came into contact with the strong hero beforehand when she was still in the hero industry so he would've known if it was a fraud.

"Still...that student hasn't taken the entrance exam. I want to gauge their strength before letting them transfer. Even if she studied in KHA, she missed out on a lot of lessons we taught the students in the first year," Aizawa explained after calming down. As much as he wanted to fanboy about his hero, he needed to get his priorities straight.

"Spoken like a true teacher, Aizawa. Very well, I will arrange the test by tomorrow and have you and the other teachers spectate on Saturday. We will test her everything we have taught for every first year and from there, we will decide if she is worthy,"

Aizawa nodded in agreement, sipping on the tea before grabbing his sleeping bag beside him. "Good. If she's not as good as you say, I will not hesitate to expel her as well,"

Nezu laughed a little before greeting the man goodbye. He was excited to have this student because he knows that in the future when she has matured and have been taught the correct ways, she would be as powerful, if not - more, than her own mother.

โ€” โฆ โ€”

"The test will commence in 10 seconds, Natsume-chan!" The principal announced through the microphone. His voice echoed around the testing area. Besides him, the teachers had been gathered in the same glass box to view the whole test. Some were excited while others were confused. Aizawa squinted his eyes to analyse the student before him, standing lazily at the center of the testing area.

The information about the transfer student being Blood Warrior's offspring was unbeknownst to the other teachers. Currently, only Aizawa and Nezu knew about it since Aizawa was going to be her homeroom teacher.

An alarm blared throughout the place but the lone figure just stood still. Aizawa could tell that they were either tired or lazy because of their posture. From his position, he could see that her eyes were lifeless, she had no determination nor will that showed in her eyes.

Aizawa side glanced at his superior who was sitting in his scarf. A smile was planted to his face as he drank from his small teacup. Beforehand, Nezu had briefed on all the teachers regarding the test.

The transfer student will be tested on standard rescue: rescuing 50 civilians. Combat: fighting zero-points robots and 4 low rated criminals with quirks he had requested from the HSPC.

Strategy: She will be notified of where the "hostages" will be held and must fight every zero-pointer robots while strategically finding a way to detonate bombs located around the arena randomly, as well as fighting the 4 criminals in combat.

Teamwork: The student will have to take random orders during the test from police robots and authority to see if they are cooperative.

If the criminals won within the time limit and the bomb is set off, they would be given probational period instead of finishing off their prison sentences. This would make them motivational than ever to defeat the student.

Aizawa sweat dropped at the side of his face. Nezu was sadistic in this test and he wasn't joking when he said he would crammed every lesson in the first year to this assessment.

This is going to be interesting...

โ€” โฆ โ€”

The last alarm rang through the arena. The student yawned while stretching their used limbs. Around her laid dozens of huge robots, dummies and even human beings who were groaning in pain. She sighed before shouting into the air.

"Oi, plushie! Is it done already? The arcade is gonna close soon and I want to beat my high score at the shooting game!"

"Yes Natsume-chan, that is all. Have a great weekend ahead and we will notify you if you made it," he answered. Then the iron gates opened for her to walk out but she spoke once again.

"I don't care if I get in or not. I only came because you bribed me with those food vouchers," She lazily waved at the glass box knowing he was in there before walking out.

Aizawa let out a tired sigh. Everyone in the room could tell that she wasn't interested in the UA but agreed that she was one strong individual. Now, he understood what his superior had said.

She was like a raw diamond that needs to be polished. If she is strong in her raw form, she could dominate the world in her refined state - add in ultimate moves, shape her creative thinking skills, increase her combat and teamwork and she could be the ideal hero everyone looks up to.

"Well then, let us start our discussion. Please let me know how you would like to assess her," the small creature said as he smiled and hung on to Aizawa's scarf. They looked at each other and the debate began.

It took them an hour to finalise her statistics and their decision if she was worthy to be transferred to the UA. Usually, it would've taken them 10 minutes for an average student but since this was a special case, they thought out carefully. In the end, they viewed her results.

โ€” โฆ โ€”

Power / Endurance: 5/6 [A+]

She has amazing power capabilities. Her raw power is at par with a Pro Hero as she could take any enemy down. It seems like her quirk can destruct any form or element given to her. She seemed to be vague about her quirk that even KHA doesn't know about it. Although I see her rarely using any defensive moves, she excels in combat and quirk usage.

Speed: 4/6 [B+]

Her speed is higher than average but still slower. When looking at her reaction time on the simultaneous attacks on her, she slows down after a long fight. Even when she saves the dummies, she lacks in speed to rescue them. But comparing her to my current students, she is still one of the fastest.

Technique: 6/6 [S+]

It seems like she has a grasp on what her quirk can do and can't do during combat and rescue missions. She's got good technique and works her way around fights when it doesn't go her way. Although some of her moves are predictable, she compensated them with her power and strategic thinking. I wonder...you must've trained a lot for you to be this strong.

Intelligence: 6/6 [S+]

She definitely excelled in this area. Everyone can see that she has quick thinking - taking in the risks, chances, probabilities and scenarios. I don't know how she managed to do it but if she can continue to hone this skill, she will be great on any field. She's able to think of an immediate solutions in every villainous or rescue scenario we gave her. She even took into consideration the smallest details and found loop holes in Nezu's plan...something only one or two of us can do. It's almost as if she saw through Nezu transparently.

Leadership / Cooperativeness: 1/6 [F]

It was such a mess to see this. She couldn't even talk properly to the robot police we assigned her to stating that she doesn't take orders from a piece of machine. She even went to say "all cops are bad"...not to mention, she even mocked him while taking down the villain and doesn't take his words or strategy into mind. If she were to be transferred, she must improve on her teamwork or all her other skills will be worthless.

She will be transferred.

The group nodded in agreement. Aizawa banged his head against the wooden desk in the meeting. He was going to have a hard time controlling this student and he doesn't know where to start. He could hear words of comfort from his colleagues but he knew they were only empty words.

I don't get paid enough for this...

โ€” โฆ โ€”

Two days. It only took Aizawa two days of patience before he came barging into Nezu's office demanding that he expel the new student, Natsume Aiko.

"I want her gone now! She's reckless which puts everyone in danger, undeniably stubborn that she doesn't listen to a thing that I say and she skips almost every class on her timetable! We shouldn't have let her transferred, Nezu!"

Nezu looked up from his paperwork. He had never seen Aizawa seething in anger so he chuckled. He wondered what Aiko must have done to have him break the last straw.

(She had placed ice in his sleeping bag when he wasn't looking. Now he has to endure the coldness because all his other sleeping bags were being washed.)

"I mean...Ectoplasm says she's been paying attention to his class and even answering all his questions correctly. Are you sure she's as what you said?" Nezu asked. He only wanted to see Aizawa's explosive reaction for his own amusement- something he doesn't see at all.

Aizawa grumbled and mumbled under his breath, something along the lines of 'biasness'ย  and 'favourtism'. Nezu could see him gripping his precious sleeping bag in anger.

"How is that even possible?! That girl is the reincarnation of the devil. I gave her detention not once or twice but three times! In the span of two days! Two, Nezu! She's skipped every class but Ectoplasm's!" Aizawa raised his voice and two fingers as he spoke to his superior. He had never been this angry before as a teacher. Usually, he would be in control but the second year transfer student seemed to care less. Not even after Aizawa had tried to scare her with his usual tactics.

"Hmm...that is troublesome...but I know you can do it, Aizawa!" Nezu exclaimed cheerfully before going back to his paperwork. Aizawa twitched his eyes in anger and went into his sleeping bag, wanting to hop out of the office.

Once Nezu was determined on something, nothing will change his mind.

"I heard from a little bird how Ectoplasm made Aiko a good student in his class..." Nezu trailed off, his eyes still on his paperwork but he internally chuckled when he saw his staff stop before the door. Aizawa's ears perked.

"...What did he do?"

"Hmm on her first day, she rebelled against him just like she did to you but he put her in her position. Let's her know who the teacher is. Now, she respects him just as he respects her. Maybe you could learn from that, Aizawa,"

Aizawa clicked his tongue before hopping out.

โ€” โฆ โ€”

"Let's make a deal. If I win against you, you must be a good student. Attend all classes, pay attention, don't rebel against teachers , do your work and all that shit," Aizawa talked to the grey haired girl. Aiko rolled her eyes.

She was tired of the UA, of everyone, and every hero that she saw. They were fake to her and no one really cares about saving the public. They just wanted attention, fame, money. If they did, her father wouldn't have left her family alone, struggling for years to survive.

She shouldn't have come to class but Aizawa had caught her before Ectoplasm's class ended causing her to be in this situation.

"Oh yeah? And what do I get? I don't really trust this shitty school's system anyways. Who lets sleeping beauty become a teacher?"

Aizawa's eye twitched. She had been calling him nicknames instead of the formal 'sensei'. If it weren't for Nezu, she would've been gone from the very first lesson.

"You can do whatever you want if you win. Skip class, skip school altogether," he replied sternly. He knew what he was doing was technically against the school rules but if what Nezu had implied just now, this was kind of acceptable. (It's not.)

The bearded man could see a speck of light shining through her eyes. He was curious. Why? Why was she acting so rebellious? She could be a great hero if she puts in effort. If he could find out the main reason, maybe he could help her. Then he remembered what Nezu had said to him.

"She's a little misguided in her life but I believe you can pave the way clearer for her"

"Deal." She cockily said as she crossed her arms. She had never gone up against a Pro Hero so this was exciting to her. If anything, she was going to win. She would have her freedom, she could do whatever she wants! As a bonus, she could beat up her teacher!

She doesn't understand why her mom always wanted her to come to UA. She doesn't see the point of being a hero. She was just going to work a normal full-time job to support her family and finally let her mom retire. Being a hero is just society's standard and view of being successful but she won't succumb to that mindset. Not when her useless dad who claims to be a hero had saved or rescued his own family anyways.

โ€” โฆ โ€”

Hahaha I still haven't revealed her quirk...maybe a sneak peek soon?

I see Aiko's relationship with Ectoplasm to be like Iwaizumi and Kyotani from HAIKYUU! I find it so funny about the scene like who's the alpha.

Fact!

Ectoplasm actually showed dominance by having a battle of wits with Aiko in her first class with him! All the remarks and retorts Aiko had against him was countered before she could even retort back to him. He even shut her down before she could plan a prank against him - backfiring it against her instead with his own clone.

This was all done in one class period. Ectoplasm had assigned one clone to teach and the others to put Aiko in place.

From there, she respected him as a teacher (and a prankster)
