"One...two...three!" In unison the boys threw
sticks set ablaze onto the bonfire causing it to erupt into flames. The blue flames licked at the stones keeping the fire enclosed. Chuck pursed his lips.

"Do you like campfires?" He questioned softly.
I looked at him.

"Oh yeah. I love em." He turned his head in interest. My voice raised an octave. "I mean what's better than arson." My lips turning up into a smile. Chuck smiled with me laughing.

"I like you. You're like Minho but nicer." I put my hand in his fluffy curls and tousled them to the side patting him like a dog.

"Thanks kid." I chuckled. He piped up.

"You're crazy, you're not even that much older than I am."

"As if." I scoffed. He stood up brushing himself off.

"I'm gonna go get us something to eat." He paused thinking for a moment. "If Fry'll even let me in the kitchen."

"Oookay don't be a stranger." I said in a sing song voice. I watched him carefully as he stalked away. I couldn't put my finger on it but I felt drawn to Chuck, like I'd known him a long time ago before all of this.

He heavily reminded me of someone. I felt compelled to protect him, care for him even.
Hot breath bounced on the back of my neck. I whipped my head around to find a boy. Not just any boy, that one boy from the gathering.
The one who said those vile things. He had washed out pale skin and a crop of red hair that lay flat on him.

(AUTHOR SIDE NOTE: I LOVE REDHEADS, BUT I JUST RANDOMIZED MANZ APPEARANCE )

"Hey there cutie." He winked at me. His breath, that was comparable to a dogs, was uncomfortably close to my face. I was absolutely speechless. This guy was unbelievable.

He took the liberty of sitting next to me. My face started heating up and I clenched my fists. He stuck out a hand. "I'm Victor, I'm keeper of the baggers." I glared at it, not bothering to touch him.

"Okay then I guess you don't like handshakes." I stared ahead at the fire looking around for an escape. Maybe he would just give up and leave. His face got closer to me. "Look I guess you must've been PMSing pretty bad back at the homestead, so I decided to forgive you."

I glared coldly at him trying to will him away. God where the hell is Chuck? Victors mouth went right next to my ear, the skin on my neck burned. "I have a few ideas on how you could make it up to me." His hand slid onto my thigh.

I swatted it away quickly and shot up so I was standing above him. Turning, I took my hand, found his face and shoved him backwards so that he toppled onto the grass.

"You should really take a shower." I spat. "You smell like shit." I spun around and stormed off shoving people out of my way. While I was weaving my way through the crowd I ran face first into someone's chest. Looking up I realized exactly who it was. Gally. His eyes widened and his eyebrows furrowed.

"You." He pointed his finger in my face. "You were behind the bathroom." I rolled my eyes.

"So. I wasn't even the one who knocked on the window." He looked almost comical when he was mad.

"I know it wasn't you." He said, emphasizing the you. "It was that stupid slopper Chuck. I saw his fat face in the window." I glowered at him. No one was going to talk about Chuck like that. "Where is he?" He questioned gruffly. I looked right into his eyes.

"I don't know, and I don't have time for this." I said pushing past him. Whoops and hollers erupted from the crowd of boys that had surrounded us.

"Ooooh Gally just got told off!"

"Gally are you gonna take that?!" Somebody blocked me from leaving pushing me towards Gally.

"Fight her Gally!" I turned to face Gally. He glanced at me quickly then looked away.

"No I don't fight girls." He said turning around.
"She'd get hurt anyways." A fire flared up inside me. He was probably right but I didn't care I sure as hell wasn't going to just walk away.

I'd look like a weak little girl. Who knows, maybe I was but I didn't give a shit. The adrenaline still pumping in me from my encounter with Victor. I taunted him.

"What. Are you afraid of a girl?" I traipsed around the circle that had been made. He looked back at me. "If you're not scared then do it." I spat. "Fight. Me." He moved his jaw around with his hand and let his palms fall to his side.

"Okay then. Don't say I didn't warn you." He circled around the boys keeping us enclosed.
"The rules of the game are simple." He paused. "I'll even go easy on you this time." I scoffed.

"Oh please." He continued.

"I'll try to push you out of the circle and all you have to do is try to last more than five seconds." He was so sure of himself, it infuriated me. Someone shouted from the crowd.

"Hey take it easy on her Gally!" The air was filled with laughters as the boys chattered on.

"Yeah we don't want damaged goods!" My blood started to boil but I focused on Gally. He turned one of his eyebrows up.

"You ready?" I nodded sharply. Gally came towards me I waited until the very last second then I ducked and scampered across the other side of the circle. This caused him to lose his balance I swiftly found myself behind him and gave him a small push causing him to tumble to the ground. He turned himself around looking up at me in shock. I grinned smugly.

"Sorry Gally." My voice laced in false innocence. "I'll try to take it easier on you next time." I turned to walk away but Gally grabbed at my ankle dragging me to the floor. I shot back up and as he started to get back on his feet. I grabbed at his wrists pushing him back down with untapped brutal force until I had him pinned to the ground.

"Nice try" I smirked. Cheers and guffaws echoed across the glade. I let him go and stalked off, my heart pounding.

I weaved through clusters of boys till I found the brisk night air again. I let out a long breath I didn't even know I was holding and put my back against the end of the kitchen. I crumpled down into the grass.
