(26 days till the next Greenie)

We stood in front of a door in the homestead. Newt had set me up with a tooth and hair brush, deodorant, blankets, a pillow, and a sleeping bag. I had changed into the pair of pajamas he had given me earlier and I was ready to drift away to dream-world. Newt pulled out a spare of keys and sorted through them till he found the one he was looking for. He muttered to himself.

"Ah ha. There it is." He jiggled it into the doors knob till it broke open. Mustiness invaded the air and dust floated all around. Newt stepped in and pulled on a small chain that seemed to be connected to the ceiling. A light filled the dank closet, he turned to me motioning for me to come in. "Come on now, nothins gonna bite you." He paused thinking to himself. "Unless Winstons in here." I cracked a smile at his joke.

"He kinda does look like he'd bite." He laughed.

"I swear it's not as bad as it looks. Just come on in, I'll give you the whole tour."Β  I stepped in slowly taking the place in as I did so. Boxes cluttered the entire place. Some full with sharp threatening knives and others with underwear. The differences were comical. I carefully moved around the boxes until I reached Newt who was already unlocking another door.

"Are you taking me to your evil lair?" I asked playfully. He chuckled and opened the door. I followed him into the darkness. He crouched on the floor playing around with, by the shadows outline, a lamp. Newt spoke as he tried striking the lamp on.

"This is a supply closet, only a few of us lucky shanks know about it. I don't really know what it's for exactly but we figured we keep it empty." The lamp illuminated the very small room. Newt stood up once again. "Good thing we did to, maybe we sensed your arrival."

"Yeah, good thing..." I paused and looked at Newt. "Am I supposed to sleep here?" I questioned.

"That's the plan." He grabbed my sleeping bag and laid it on the floor. I clutched onto my pillow protectively. "You're really lucky y'know, not everyone gets to sleep inside like you." He flashed me a smile. "Well then, you seem like you're all set up now so I'll leave you be." I widened my eyes.

"Wait you're just gonna leave me here?!" I glanced at the cobwebs that clung to every corner. Out of breath he placed his hand on my shoulder.

"Pretty much." He turned to leave.

"Wait Newt!" He continued onward toward the door.

"Sweet dreams Greenie. Don't let the Grievers bite." My pillow fell to my side.

"What!?" He had already closed the door locking me in my dark prison. I huffed to myself and turned to my sleeping bag. I slipped into it, it welcomed me with softness and warmth. Sighing I pressed my face against my downy pillow.

I might as well try to get some sleep. My eyes felt so heavy, it felt like someone was dragging them down. So much had happened, it was as if I'd lived a week in a day. Information overloaded and swam through my brain. I was inside of a place.

I had no idea what was outside the walls holding us in, or perhaps they were keeping something out. Who knows. Someone already didn't like me. I'm sure Gally wasn't in any rush to hold hands and skip with me. I did win him in that game though. Yeah that felt pretty good. Maybe tomorrow I can...maybe...

------------------------

Someone was shaking me. Their voice was muffled. I ignored them and pushed my face further into the pillow blocking out their voice. My pillow was stolen from under me along with my sleeping bag, leaving me writhing against cold cement floor.

"Hey!" I grumbled swatting at nothing. My vision started to clear and my eyes focused on Newts face. "Ugh gross go away." I groaned.

"Good morning Greenie!" He said a little too cheerfully, almost as if he relished my struggle in waking up. "You get to work with Winston today!"

"The biter!?" Newt grinned annoyingly and ripped my blankets away.

"Who else?" I squinted my eyes at him menacingly.

"You, are a monster." He laughed.

"Just helping you up to this beautiful morning in the glade."

"Beautiful my ass." I sneered grabbing my pillow back. My head had just met my pillow when I felt Newts hot stupid breath next to my ear.

"Don't make me do this Greenie." I lifted my head a tad.

"Wha-" My ankles had been grabbed, Newt started pulling me away from my beautiful pillow. I reached out for it fighting to stay in my cozy room. "Noooo!" This continued until we stopped at the open door. Defeated I clambered clumsily on to my two feet. I huffed at Newt and he pushed me out of the closet locking the door behind us. Turning back to me with a smile plastered on his face he said cheerily.

"Brand new morning, brand new start Greenie." I shot daggers into him with my eyes and croaked.

"You are a Sadist." He burst out laughing like a maniac and motioned for me to follow him.
I trudged out the door and was met with bright almost sterile sunlight. I hissed and put my hands up like a vampire burning up. Newt rolled his eyes at me.

"Oh quit bein' so bloody dramatic." He grabbed my wrist and dragged me towards the outdoor eating area. He finally let go when we arrived at one of the wooden tables. "Sit." He ordered like I was a dog. I begrudgingly sat down and laid my head on the table hoping to catch a few minutes of sleep.

"Damn girl you look even hotter in the morning." Not even looking up at Victor I spat.

"I will rip your throat out with my bare hands and feed it to the dogs. Go away." I heard a swift.

"Oookay." I was satisfied when I heard his footseps as he walked away. I smiled and finally adjusted my eyes to the morning's light, lifting my head up. A tray of food was dropped and clattered in front of me.

"Eat up Greenie." Newt sat across from me with his own tray. It looked decent enough. Fry had made pancakes topped with fruit, scrambled eggs, and bacon. I picked the bacon up roughly and chomped on it, tearing pieces off one by one.

"You're awfully chipper." I looked him up and down. Newt grinned.

"Who wouldn't be on this fine morning."

"Freak." I grumbled. Newt's stupid smirk showed his amusement.

"Speaking of freaks here comes one right now." Winston approached the table with his food and sat next to Newt.

"Hey guys." Winston stopped for a second. "Er, guy and girl?" I gulped down my orange juice then pointed at Winston with my fork.

"You've got nice teeth." Newt spit his juice out coughing from laughter.

"That." He pounded the table with his fist to stop from choking. "Is not funny Greenie." I let out a smirk.

"Well it made you laugh, so you must have shit taste in humor." I bit off a piece of pancake and smiled at him in a way I knew would be annoying.
