"Stile: an arrangement of steps that allows people but not animals, to climb over a fence." Scott read out loud as he, Sawyer, Lydia and Anakin sat in the library in front of a laptop. "Yeah, somehow I don't think this is the 'Stiles' we're looking for." Lydia said and Sawyer was quiet as she stared at the word "stiles" on the laptop.

"Maybe Malia has found something." Scott suggested, making Sawyer sigh and shake her head, "No. She's been taking a make-up test all morning." She said. Almost the second she said that a coyote howl sounded throughout the school making everyone look up while Sawyer pursed her lips slightly.

"I'm gonna assume that means the test isn't going well." Sawyer said and they all looked at each other before getting up and walking out the library. Scott, Sawyer and Anakin instantly made a beeline for the basement while Lydia went to check on her mom real quick.

They ran down into the basement to find Malia in coyote form growling at them from the corner of the room. "Malia, it's okay. You're safe." Scott said calmly but Malia kept growling as Lydia, Natalie and Stilinski walked in. "I'm not gonna hurt you." Scott said calmly again and Malia just let out a couple more growls, "I think she's calming down." Scott said and Sawyer just looked at him with raised eyebrows as Malia snapped at him.

Stilinski on the other hand lookee a little scared of Malia's growling, "Maybe you should growl back?" He suggested. Malia growls one more time, making Natalie and Stilinski jump a bit while Stilinski looked at Scott desperately, "Scott, you're the Alpha. Can you just make her a little more docile?" Stilinski asked but Sawyer sighed and shook her head.

"She's not the problem. We are. This is her territory and we're invading it, especially with Anakin here. We need to get out of here." Sawyer said and Malia started barking as Scott nodded in agreement, "Yeah, c'mon." He said and all of them moved off to the side.

"Malia came here to get through the full moons. Then we got to the lake house." Lydia said, making Natalie look at her confused. "I thought you said a wild animal got in the lake house." She asked and Lydia looked at her mother exasperatedly, "Just be happy for the things I don't tell you." She said and Sawyer nodded slightly.

They turned their attention to Malia as she slowly transformed back into her human form. Stilinski quickly looked away while Natalie looked slightly shocked and the others dont even look bothered. "It's alright. I'm okay." Malia said and Natalie sighed in relief before walking over to give Malia her clothes back while Stilinski looked at Scott, Sawyer and Lydia questioningly.

"Got any idea on what made her shift?" He asked and they all sighed, "She's under a lot of pressure." Scott said and Sawyer nodded. "School, her life after graduation." She said, "Her mom trying to kill her." Lydia added making Sawyer nod while Scott looked at them.

"That shouldn't make her shift... Could it be connected to Stiles?" Scott asked as he turned to the girls, making Lydia sigh softly, "Hard to tell since we don't know what a 'Stiles' is." She said. Sawyer was quiet for a moment as she glanced down before her father spoke up.

"It's a he." He said, making them look at him in both shock and confusion while Sawyer didn't seem shocked at all, "Who?" Scott asked. "Stiles. It's a family nickname. I never used it, but... my father did." Stilinski said before looking at Sawyer, "I'm surprised you forgot about it." He said and Sawyer sighed softly and shoul her head.

"I didn't forget..."

Sawyer, Anakin, Lydia, Scott and Stilinski are seated in the living room as Claudia walked and handed her husband a box. "Thanks, honey." Stilinski said and Claudia hummed, gently patting her daughter's shoulder as she sat down next to Stilinski before he started explaining about his father's life.

"He was an army engineer." He said as he took out a photo of his father and handed it to Scott, "He ended the war, one bridge at a time." Stilinski said and Scott looked up at him. "He went by Stiles." Scott said as he glanced at the girls, Sawyer looking down at the ground the whole time.

"So what's this got to do with the Wild Hunt?" Stilinki asked and Scott looked over at Lydia and Sawyer making Sawyer sigh, "We think that somebody was taken from us." She said. "Any idea who?" Her father asked and Scott slightly shook his head, "The Ghost Riders would have erased our memories."

"Well. That's convenient."

"We found a clue." Lydia said, making them look over at her, "The word 'stiles'." Sawyer said and Claudia sighed slightly. "And that's why you wanna talk to Elias?" She asked and they nodded, "Maybe he could help us figure it out. Maybe he knows who we're looking for." Scott said.

"Now this is someone your age?" Stilinski asked and Scott nodded, "Yeah, I... I think he was our friend. Maybe he was our best friend." Scott said, looking at Sawyer who sighed. "Actually, I feel like he's more important than a friend to me, obviously not Lydia important." Sawyer said but her father doesn't look just as hopeful as the teenagers.

"I guarantee my father can't help you." Stilinski sighed and stood up while Scott handed him the photo back, "Can we try?" Scott asked. "Scott, he lives in a nursing house three towns over. He hasn't received visits for years." Stilinski said and Claudia looked at her daughter, "Sawyer, I'm surprised you're even okay with the idea." She said and Sawyer just sighed softly and looked away from her mother.

That's when she saw elderly woman walking through the living room, making her furrow her brows slightly. Sawyer glanced over at everyone else only to notice that she was the only person seeing her.

The woman stopped and turned towards Sawyer before speaking, "The following stops have been canceled." She said and Sawyer started hearing the sound of a train again. "The following stops have been canceled." The woman said again before she started walking down the hall and Sawyer turned to the others.

"I'm gonna be right back..." She said and Claudia nodded, "Okay." She said before Sawyer quickly got up and followed the old woman down the hall. She turned the corner to find the lady staring at an empty wall, "Why are you here?" Sawyer asked but the old lady didn't say or do anything and instead just stared at the wall as Sawyer walked up to her.

"Is there something you wanted to tell me?" Sawyer asked and the lady just kept staring at the wall, never answering any of Sawyer's questions, "What stop has been canceled?" She asked. She started to reach out to grab the lady's shoulder but someone calling her name made her spin around.

"Sawyer? Are you going to be coming back?" Claudia called out and Sawyer turned back to where the old lady was standing only to find her not there anymore making her sigh and close her eyes for a moment. "Hey." Someone said, making Sawyer turn around again to see Lydia walking down the hall, "You okay?" She asked and Sawyer just shook her head slightly as Lydia grabbed her hands.

"I keep hearing a damn train and seeing people." Sawyer said and Lydia nodded slightly as she glanced around. "We're going to figure it out, even if you're dad doesnt give up permission to talk to your grandfather." Lydia said and Sawyer sighed softly as she glanced down for a moment, "Yeah, I'm not so sure talking to him is a good idea." She said, making Lydia furrow her brows.

"Why?" She asked and Sawyer just shook her head slightly, "We should go back to the living room." Sawyer said. Lydia looked at her worriedly before Sawyer pulled her back out to the living room where Scott was still trying to convince Stilinski.

"You're not hearing me. Trust me... you don't wanna talk to him." Stilinski said as Sawyer and Lydia walked back into the room, "We just need a few minutes." Scott said and Stilinski shook his head. "Scott. My father can't help you." Stilinski said as both he and Scott were now standing, "Just a few questions. Five minutes!"

Stilinski's exasperation reached its peak and he spoke to Scott in a sharp tone, "It's not possible for you to just talk to this guy! Okay? Just find another way." Stilinski said as the girls walked over. "But what if this is the only way?" Scott asked and Claudia cut the discussion to side with her husband, "Scott. You have your answer."

"Sheriff, please."

"Scott!" Claudia said as she stood up making Scott sigh softly, "The answer's no." Stilinski said making Scott and Lydia share a frustrated look while Sawyer just glanced down at Anakin.

Scott, Sawyer, Lydia and Malia walk up to the nursing home and stop outside, "I can't believe we're about to break into a nursing home." Scott said and Sawyer started at the doors before shaking her head slightly. "Maybe we shouldn't do this. You know, the nurses probably aren't going to let us visit him this late." Sawyer said nervously but Malia just shrugged slightly.

"After the orderlies of Eichen House, pretty sure we can handle some nurses." She said before she walked into the nursing house where she found the head male nurse on a call. "I've gotta go. Someone is coming." The Nurse said as he ended the call and turned to Malia, "Hi. There's something I can do-" He asked but Malia just grabbed his head and slammed it on the table. He fell to the ground before dragging him into a closet.

The four teenagers walked into one of the sitting rooms where Elias Stilinski was listening to old trumpet music. The sound of their footsteps made him turn around to look at him. "Yes? Oh, is it time for my medicine?" He asked and Malia shook her head, "We don't have your medicine." She said and Elias sighs in understanding and turns around.

"Are you Elias Stilinski?" Lydia asked, making him turn to her, "I am." He said before Lydia walked toward Elias. "I'm Lydia Martin. Do you know who I am?" She asked and he furrowed his brows, looking at her in confusion, "Should I?" He asked, making her frown slightly as Scott walked forward.

"Mr. Stilinski, we're looking for someone who might be named Stiles. And you went by the name in the army, right?" He asked and Elias nodded, "Yes. Those were the best years of my life." He said. Sawyer was about to say something but Malia spoke up first.

"Do you know any of us?" Malia asked and Elias looked at her slightly crazy, "Of course I do. How could I forget my own son?" He asked, looking at Scott making him frown in confusion. "Your son?" He asked and Sawyer sighed softly as she glanced at him.

"Elias, what year is it?" She asked, making him look at her, "1976. My son's birthday is next week." He said, making her nod slightly before she turned to her friends. "Yeah, he has dementia." She said, making Scott's eyes widen slightly, turning to Elias with a slight frown.

"Is it time for my medicine?"

"Scott McCall?" Elias asked after a few minutes of them explaining who they are and Scott nodded making Elias shake his head. "No, no, no. You're my son." He said and Malia stepped forward slightly, "Keep it down, old guy. You'll wake up the other old people." She said before she started eating peas from Elias' dinner making Sawyer, Lydia and Scott look at her weird while Elias looked uncomfortable with Malia's behavior.

"I don't like her." He said and Sawyer sighed softly before sitting down at the table, "Your son is the Sheriff of Beacon Hills." She said calmly and he looked at her confused. "Sheriff? No, no, no. I was in the army." He said, making Malia sigh frustratingly, "Use your claws, Scott." She said and Scott shook his head.

"It could kill him." He said and Malia shrugged slightly, "I get that but we're running out of time." She said and Scott just sighed softly. "I can't." He said and Malia, both impatient and frustrated, flicked out her claws and went toward Elias but Scott stopped her by grabbing her wrist. "We are not hurting him." He said before letting her go.

"Young lady." Elias said, making Malia look over at him, "You need to clip those nails." He said and she sighed softly and stepped back.

Not long later, Elias started getting more and more agitated because of Scott, Sawyer, Lydia and Malia's presence. "You shouldn't be here. If you don't leave, I have to report you." He said, making Scott look at the girls wide eyed, "Uh... What's wrong with him?" He said and Sawyer glanced out the window and sighed.

"The sun went down." She said, making Scott and Malia look at her confused, "So..." Scott asked as Elias started becoming even more agitated and groaned in anger. "He's sundowning. It's when patients with dementia lose their faculties after the sun goes down." Lydia explained.

"I don't wanna talk to you anymore!"

"So what do we do?" Malia asked and Sawyer sighed and shook her head slightly, "Wait until the sun comes back up." She said making Malia look at her crazy. "We can't wait that long." She said and Scott nodded, "There's gotta be something we can do to keep him quiet."

"Leave. Leave. Leave. Leave."

"I can calm him down." Malia suggested making Scott and Sawyer instantly turn to her. "No!" They both said at the same time before Lydia turned to Elias, grabbing some of the papers on the table. "Elias look at the equations. Look. It's a binomial of probability. What's P?" Lydia asked as Elias looked down at the papers.

"Probability of success?" He asked and she nodded, "Right. And what means N minus K?" She asked and he thought for a moment before answering. "Number of trials minus the number of successes." He said and Lydia chuckled slightly and nodded, while Malia looked at them confused.

"What's with math?" Malia asked and Lydia glanced up at them "It helps Dementia patients concentration." She said before looking back at Elias. "And this one?" Lydia asked, pointing at another equation, "That's... um... Conditional probability." Elias answered before standing up while Lydia sat down next to Sawyer.

"Let's find the moment of inertia." She said but Elias didn't answer right away making her look up at him, "Elias?" She asked and he squinted at them.

"That's Mr. Stilinski. Just who the hell do you think you are?" Elias asked, making Sawyer suck in a deep breath as she mindlessly grabbed Lydia's hand.

"You know Scott isn't your son?" Lydia asked and Elias looked at her like she was stupid, "Of course I know that. Are brains getting smaller with the skirts?" He asked, making Sawyer look up. "Seriously? You can't take the one moment you remember every, to not act like a dick?" Sawyer asked, making her grandfather look at her before smiling.

"Sawyer! You've grown since the last time I saw you." He said before noticing Sawyer and Lydia's intertwined fingers, "Although being the family disgrace hasn't changed." He said, making Scott and Lydia look at Elias shocked while Sawyer uncomfortably sat back, moving her hands under the table while Malia growled lowly.

"Malia. It's okay." Scott said, making Elias turn to him, "So you're that McCall kid." He said and Scott looked up at him surprised. "You know me?" He asked, "Sawyer used to talk about you a lot and I know your dad. He couldn't hold his liquor, and certainly couldn't keep that wedding ring on his finger. A beautiful lady walking by and poof, that ring just disappeared like magic." He said, making Scott look at him shocked.

"Do you know all of us?" Lydia asked, making Elias look at her first a second before recognizing her, "Hey. You're Natalie Martin's daughter. Am I right? You look like her. She was pretty once too." He said, making Sawyer look up. "You can shut up now." Sawyer said but her grandfather didn't even look at her as he chuckled, "She also liked to talk like she was the smartest person in her room." He said before Malia lost her patience completely, flicked out her claws and started to step forward before Sawyer quickly stood up and stopped her.

"Calm down, Malia." Sawyer said, making Malia take a deep breath and step back before Sawyer looked at her grandfather. "We came here to see if you'd be able to help us figure something out. Obviously not because all you care about is being an asshole." Sawyer said and Elias chuckled.

"Come on Sawyer, you know I'm just joking around-" He started to say but she cut him off, "No. Even with your dementia brain, right now you know that we're not in the 50s or the 60s or the 70s, your 'jokes' aren't funny. I mean- what next? You gonna tell me I'm gonna go to hell again?" Sawyer asked and Elias was about to say something but someone else did first.

"Enough!" Someone yelled, making them all turn around to see Stilinski standing next to the equally-angry nurse that Malia locked in the closet. "Sheriff, we..." He started to say but Stilinski's expression is the one that shows how he couldn't be more disappointed with them. "I explicitly told you not to come here. And who attacked a staff member?" He asked and the nurse pointed at Malia, "That's her." He said and Malia let out a low growl.

"What were you thinking?" Stilinski asked and Sawyer just looked down while Elias started to walk around the table, "Noah, we were just having a nice conversation." He said but Stilinski ignores his father and turns to Sawyer, Lydia. Scott and Malia with an instruction. "The four of you, out. Now." He said and they nodded before walking off.

Sheriff starts to follow Scott, Sawyer, Lydia and Malia to the station, making Elias get angry toward his son for not noticing him. "That's right! Act like I'm not even here. Go crawling back to your dead wife, your gay daughter and your loser son!" Elias yelled, making Stilinski turn to his father with a confused look, "What did you say?" He asked but before Elias could answer, he instantly went back to his confused state.

"Is it... time... for my medicine?"

Scott, Sawyer, Lydia and Malia stand around the holding cells in the station getting scolded by a disappointed Natalie. "We know this looks bad-" Scott said making Natalie scoff slightly, "It doesn't look bad, Scott. It is bad." She said and Scott made a sheepish face before Natalie ranted on the severity of the situation.

"You've broken into a nursing home, you harassed a dementia patient and beat up a nurse. This could affect the rest of your lives! Especially you, Malia. They're talking felony assault!" Natalie said and Malia shook her head slightly. "I didn't beat him up. I could have, but I chose not to." She said, making Sawyer raise her eyebrows and nod slowly, "Believe it or not, that's Progress." She mumbled before Stilinski walked in.

"By some miracle, the nurse decided to drop the charges. They're free to go." He said before looking at his daughter. "Come with me." He said and Sawyer took a deep breath, before turning to Lydia and was about to say something but her father spoke up first.

"Now." He said sternly, making her purse her lips, "Right." She said before quickly kissing Lydia's cheek and following her father out the room. They walked into his office where Claudia stood with Anakin, making Sawyer groan slightly. "You snitch on me to mom?" She asked dramatically as she sat down in a chair while her mother gave her a look.

"We'll talk about this at home." She said, making Sawyer slide down the chair a bit with a frown as Claudia turned to her husband. "You had a long day, sheriff. Are you ready?" She asked as she grabbed Stilinski's jacket, "All I wanted was for this day to end." Stilinski sighed, making Claudia chuckle.

"Let me take you away from all this. Crime, mayhem, those kids." She said and Sawyer looked at her offended, "Hey! I'm one of those kids!" She said, and her mother chuckled and shook her head slightly.

"You had second thoughts?" Stilinski asked, looking at his wife who gave him a confused look. "About having more kids." He said and Claudia smiled softly and shook her not, "Not once, I have all I need here. I think we have our hands full with Sawyer and Anakin." She said and Sawyer pouted slightly.

"I still want a little brother..." She mumbled as she petted Anakin.

Sawyer laid on her bed next to Anakin when her door opened, making her look up as Lydia walked in. "Hey, surprised your mom let you out of the house." Sawyer said as she sat up and Lydia shrugged slightly, "I might have snuck out." Lydia said, making Sawyer hum slightly and raise her eyebrows.

"Lydia Martin becoming a rebel. This moment will go down in history." Sawyer said, making Lydia give her an amused look before sitting down in front of her. They were quiet for a moment before Lydia grabbed Sawyer's hand.

"So your grandpa is homophobic..." Lydia said and Sawyer sucked in a deep breath before nodding, "Yeah." She said. "And that's why you started saying talking to him would be a bad idea." Lydia said and Sawyer nodded, "My dad and my grandfather never had the best relationship. There was a time where Elias pushed my dad into a glass table when he was trying to go for my grandma. My dad still has a piece of glass in his shoulder." Sawyer said.

"But despite that, my dad never wanted to deprive us of knowing our grandparents so he let us have a relationship with Elias. At the start it was good, my mom would be the one to take us to see him and my dad would just stay back. That was until I started realizing I like girls, which was at a pretty young age." Sawyer explained before sighing softly.

"My parents were instantly very supportive, but my grandfather was not... No eleven-year-old should have to hear her grandfather call her the f slur, even when she didn't even know what it ment yet." She said and Lydia was quiet for a moment as she just squeezed Sawyer's hand, before furrowing her brows slightly.

"Sawyer?" She asked, making Sawyer look at her, "You kept saying 'us' and 'our'." Lydia said. "What?" Sawyer asked, looking at Lydia confused, "You said 'deprive us', 'let us', 'take us', 'our grandparents'." Lydia said, making Sawyer furrow her brows, "I did?" She asked and Lydia nodded.

Before either of them could say anything else, there was a knock at the door, making them look over as Stilinski walked in. He smiled at Lydia before sitting down on Sawyer's desk chair, "I'm assuming you told her everything about your grandpa?" He asked and she nodded, "Mostly." She said and he sighed softly.

"You know, my father told me something that's been bothering me all day. Something about memories." Stilinski said, making the girls look at him confused, "What do you mean?" Lydia asked. "Have you had a dream... that is so real, you thought it was a memory?" Stilinski asked and Sawyer nodded, "Many, many times." She said.

"Okay. In this dream, I'm laying in the bed with Claudia, it's a couple of weeks before we move away from college. And we talk about the future and kids, and what we'll call them. And I tell her, if we have a daughter, I want to name her after her aunt." He said, gesturing to Sawyer, who smiled softly.

"But if we have a son, I wanna name him after her father. She laughs at me and says, 'Why would you wanna settle a couple of poor kids names like that'?" Stilinski said and chuckled slightly before continuing.

"Then I tell her: 'Because your aunt is an amazing woman, someone I'd want my kids to be able to look up to and because your father is a great father. Kind of father I wish I had, the kind I hoped to be. At that point of the dream, she smiles, kisses me and says: "It's okay. We'll name them that, but it won't matter. They'll just be called Sawyer and Stiles anyway"." He said making Sawyer and Lydia look at each other with slightly wide eyes.
