Chapter Fifty-Nine
💰 A Promise Too The Dead 💰

Sawyer groaned and tightly closed her eyes when Lydia threw her curtains open. "Get up!" Lydia said and Sawyer just hummed tiredly, putting her blanket over her head. "Sawyer, come on." Lydia said while petting Anakin's head and Sawyer made no movement, making Lydia roll her eyes before pulling Sawyer's blanket down. 

"Wake up." Lydia said and Sawyer groaned, "It's too early." She mumbled as she glanced at her alarm clock, making Lydia raise her eyebrows. "You're the one who said we should go get breakfast before school, meaning wake up earlier than normal." Lydia said and Sawyer sighed, "Do you do this to all your girlfriends or boyfriends?" Sawyer asked and Lydia gave her a look. 

"It was your idea." Lydia said and Sawyer dramatically groaned, "Yeah, I know but I wanna put the blame on someone else." She said as she sat up, making Lydia roll her eyes. "Come on, I want to go get breakfast." Lydia said and Sawyer stared at her for a moment, "Do you want to go so badly because you're hungry, or are you trying to distract yourself from last night?" Sawyer asked, making Lydia pause for a moment. 

"Are you okay? I mean, it's not everyday where I get a call from Derek in the middle of the night telling me that my girlfriend walked all the way to his loft in the pouring rain to scream at him... You feel it too, don't you?" Sawyer asked and Lydia sighed softly, "Like the Deadpool might be over but not everything is over." Lydia said and Sawyer nodded. 

"Yeah..." She said before sighing and standing up, "But whether everything is over or not, breakfast with my girlfriend does sound nice." Sawyer said as she walked up to Lydia, making Lydia smile at her. "I'd kiss you, but morning breath." Sawyer said and Lydia hummed slightly, "How thoughtful of you." She said and Sawyer smiled at her before walking away to change.

"Lydia! Sawyer!" Malia said, making them look over at her, "Look! I passed!" Malia said happily showing them her grades test making Sawyer smile proudly, "C-minus! Nice." She said and Malia smiled. 

"Lydia's notes are great when they're not written in code." Malia said and the second she said that Coach walked up and set a graded test down that had an F on it making her frown. "Disappointed, Malia- profoundly disappointed." He said, making Malia sigh looking over at Sawyer and Lydia, "I'll send you my notes." Lydia said. 

Lydia and Sawyer turned back around and glanced up at the board that ready "Networth at time of death" making their faces fall slightly as they both started to get a bad feeling. "It's over. The computers are off. No more assassins. No more murders. No one's dying." Kira said when she noticed the look on their faces. 

"Not yet."

"Drop what you're doing- I'm taking you three out to dinner." Stilinski said as he walked into Stiles' room making Stiles look up from his homework and Sawyer and Malia look up from the math work Sawyer was trying to help Malia with. Anakin was laying on the bed with his head on Malia's back. 

"Dad, I don't think a man of your debts should be treating anyone to anything..." Stiles said, pursing his lips. "Well, there's one debt we no longer have to worry about." Stilinski said, handing Stiles a piece of paper, "What is that?" Sawyer asked as Stiles grabbed it. 

"A letter of apology from Eichen House." Stilinski said as Stiles handed it to Sawyer, "Apparently, they've decided to forgive our debt due to... Well, the two of you and Lydia almost getting murdered." Stilinski said, making Malia's eyes widen. "They can do that?" She asked and Stilinski smiled, "They can do it, and they did it." He said. 

"I've never been so happy to have almost been murdered!" Sawyer said happily reaching over to high five her brother who laughed. 'Well, we're not out of it yet, but... We're going to be okay. And, at least for the moment, I can afford to take my kids and their girlfriends out to dinner. So, Sawyer call Lydia and ask if she'd like to join us." Stilinski said and Sawyer pulled out her phone. 

"Malia, what's your favorite food?" He asked as Malia started closing all their books. "Deer." Malia said, making all of them look at her weird for a moment, before remembering that Malia was a coyote most of her life. "Pizza." Sawyer said slowly, "She likes pizza." Stiles said and Malia smiled sheepishly.

"Everything's fine. I got a text from him this morning, and he said he might be a little late." Stiles said as he, Sawyer, Anakin and Liam walked into the locker room, "Well, how late is late? Is he always late? We're playing Davenford Prep again, and this time it's an actual game. He shouldn't be late!" Liam stressed and Coach turned to them. 

"Who shouldn't be late?" He asked, making the three of them look at him wide eyed and sighed. "Scott and Kira." Liam said and Sawyer nodded, "They might be slightly late." She said and Coach looked at them weird. 

"Slightly late is still late. What are they doing?" He asked and Stiles squinted slightly, "They're doing something that's going to make them slightly late.." Stiles said slowly. "What could Scott and Kira be doing right now that's more important than playing in the first game?" Coach asked. 

It was quite for a few seconds as Stiles and Sawyer glanced at each other with raised eyebrows while Liam looked like an awkward little kid watching a movie with their parents when a sex scene comes on. "Oh, Coach..." Stiles and Sawyer both mumbled, making Coach furrow his brows. 

A few minutes later the team was dressed and everyone was out on the field and Anakin sat with Stilinski and Malia on the bleachers. "They're still not here." Liam said after glancing around making Sawyer and Stiles look at him, "Okay, what's really going on? Are you nervous about the full moon? It's not for another twenty-four hours." Stiles asked and Liam sighed and looked up at the moon. 

"Liam, you're gonna be fine. Just try not to kill anyone on the field." Sawyer said, making him look over at her, "You guys aren't worried?" He asked and Stiles and Sawyer looked at each other. "Okay, I'm mildly concerned. Mildly." Stiles said before he and Sawyee both pulled out their phones to text Scott.  

"We're gonna lose without him."  

"No, we're not! We can be just as good without Scott, okay? I've been practicing. Let me tell you something, I'm getting good- really good." Stiles said and Sawyer scoffed lightly. "Was that really supposed to be believable?" She asked, making her brother give her a look, "Is it so hard to just pretend to be a supportive sister?" He asked and she shrugged slightly. 

"Come out as gay or bi or whatever and I'll support you with my whole heart, come out as a good Lacrosse player though..." She trailed off as she made a face, making Stiles squint at her. "I'm gonna remember this the next time you want something from me." He said and she raised her eyebrows, "I never want anything from you." She said, making him roll his eyes. 

The game hadn't even been going on for two minutes before Stiles started getting hit in the head with a ball and tripping over his own feet. About three Devenford Prep players trampled him, making Sawyer sigh and shake her head before running over to him. 

"You get why I didn't believe you?" She asked and Stiles rolled his eyes, "I'm gonna call Scott." He said and she nodded. "Probably the best idea." She said and he ran off the field while she stayed back. A little while later Sawyer managed to score a goal before a ref called a time out. 

"All right. Neither of them are answering. I gotta go see what's going on." Stiles said as Sawyer and Liam ran over to them. "You're leaving? What are you going to tell Coach?" Liam asked as Stiles started to grab his stuff. They looked over at Coach to see him start having a slight mental breakdown.  

"Let's just not tell him anything." She said and Stiles nodded in agreement before the twins went over to their father, Malia and Anakin and started explaining everything. "Want me to stay here if he shows up?" Malia asked and Sawyer nodded. "Please." She said and Malia nodded before Sawyer, Stiles and Stilinski walked off.

"What the hell happened?" Stiles asked as he, Sawyer, their father and Anakin walked into the loft. Furniture was smashed all over the place and glass littered the floor from the broken window and a few broken light bulbs. "It was supposed to be a date." Derek said as they glanced around. 

"They were both here?" Stilinski asked, "And they're both gone." Braeden said before Sawyer's phone rang. "Hey-" She started to say but Lydia cut her off, "Scott's been taken." Lydia said over the phone and Sawyer sighed.

"Scott and Kira. We just don't know where." She said, "Mexico. And, if you want to save his life, that's where you're going, too." Deaton said, making everyone glance at each other.
