Chapter Thirty-Six
⊚ Lunar Eclipse ⊚

Scott, Allison and Sawyer suddenly burst up from the water in the steel tubs, gasping for breath. Fingers wrapping around the sides of the tub, Sawyer sucked in a deep breath before wiping her face off. 

The three of them glanced around slightly as they carefully got out of the tubs. They stood in a large white room, completely empty except for them, the tubs and a very large tree stump that seemed like it was growing right out of the tiled floors. And without a word being spoken, the three teens slowly walked over to the stump. 

Scott walked up to the stump, looking down at the numerous rings of the tree before looking at his tattoo. Scott reached a hand out to the rings on the base of the tree stump. The moment he touched the wood with his fingertips, his eyes closed and all of the sudden it was like they were all sucked into a vision. 

Sawyer now stood in the middle of the woods, making her furrowed her brows slightly. "We're seriously doing this?" She heard someone ask, making her turn around to see her, Stiles and Scott walking through the woods. "You're the one always bitching that nothing ever happens in this town." Past Sawyer said before patting Scott's shoulder. 

"I was trying to get a good night's sleep before practice tomorrow." Past Scott said before present glanced around before going to follow them. 

"Stiles! Sawyer! Wait up!" Scott called out before he quickly took a hit from his inhaler before scrambling to catch up with them. "Stiles! Sawyer!" Scott called out and the twins finally heard the last attempt to call their names. 

But the split second of distraction caused the nearby K9 officer to start barking at them, scaring the both of them so much they fell backwards onto the ground. The deputy with the search dog immediately points his flashlight at past Stiles and Sawyer as they try to recover from the shock. 

"Hold it right there!" 

Present Sawyer watched as her father walked up to past her and Stiles. "Hang on, hang on... These little delinquents belongs to me." He said and Stiles, trying to play it cool, nodded at him, "Dad, how are you doing?" He asked while Present Sawyer walked past some trees. 

"Now, young man and woman, I'm gonna walk you back to your car..." Stilinski said before pulling past Sawyer and Stiles away. Present Sawyer backed up slightly as she watched them, before the back of her leg hit something, making her turn around. 

Behind her sat the large tree stump, the Nemeton. Sawyer stared at it for a moment before lightly touching the surface before everything around her suddenly disappeared. 

Now she stood back in the large room from before, except now, all the lights were out. Well, all except for one, one that was directly above the Nemeton. Sawyer slowly walked up to the Nemeton before noticing a fox sitting on top of it, with a game of Go in front of it. 

"The more you have of it, the less you see. What is it?" Sawyer heard a voice say in a whisper, making her furrowed her brows. "Darkness." She said and immediately after, the light above her turned off, sending her into nothing but darkness.

Back in the animal clinic, Scott, Sawyer and Allison's eyes snapped open and they lurch up, surging back to consciousness, making Stiles, Lydia, Deaton and Isaac quickly get up. Water splashes across the floor as they each grasp for the edges of the steel tub, pulling themselves up. "I saw it- I know where it is." Scott said as one-by-one they scramble out of the tubs, soaking wet. 

"It was the night we were looking for the body." Scott said and Sawyer nodded, "The night you were bit by Peter." She said. "I was there too. In the car with my mother. We almost hit someone." Allison said and Scott looked at her, "It was me-you almost hit me" He said before looking at the others. 

"We can find it." Scott said making Deaton, Stiles, Isaac and Lydia share looks far less hopeful. "What?" Sawyer said and Isaac sighed, "You guys were out a long time." He said and Scott looked to the windows to see that it's still night. "How long is a long time?" Sawyer asked worriedly and Deaton glanced at everyone before sighing, "Sixteen hours." He said, making their eyes widen. 

"We've been in the water for sixteen hours?" Scott asked and Deaton nodded, "And the full moon rises in less than four."

Towel pulled tight around her shoulders, Sawyer shook her head at Scott, "No, dude. You're not going back to them." She said and Scott shook his head, "I made a deal with Deucalion." He said. "Anybody else thinks that sounds a lot like "deal with the Devil." I don't know about you guys, but I've heard that situation doesn't usually come with a happy ending." Stiles argued, making his sister nod in agreement, "Why's it matter anyway?" Isaac asked. 

"Because I still don't think we can beat Jennifer without their help." Scott said, glancing around at all of them, "He trusts you more than any of us. Tell him he's wrong." Allison said, looking over at Deaton. "I'm not so sure he is. Circumstances like this sometimes require you to align yourself with people you'd normally consider enemies." Deaton said 

"We're supposed to trust him? The guy who calls himself Death, destroyer of worlds." Isaac said and Deaton shrugged, "I wouldn't trust him, no. But you could certainly use him to your advantage. Deucalion may be the enemy, but he could also be the bait." Deaton said. 

The sound of the front door opening interrupts them. Following Deaton, they look out to the waiting room to see Ethan standing just behind the gate. "I'm looking for Lydia and Sawyer." He says and they stepped out from behind the others. "What do you want?" Lydia asked and he sighed slightly. "I need your guy's help." He said, making Sawyer raise her eyebrows, "With what?" 

"Stopping my brother and Kali from killing Derek."

Lydia and Sawyer] by his side, Ethan tentatively approaches Derek. Behind them, Peter and Cora keep a careful eye on the Alpha Pack twin. "We know about the lunar eclipse. So don't think Kali's going to sit around waiting for it to level the playing field. She's coming. And my brother is coming with her." Ethan explained and Peter nodded, "Good enough for me. Derek, let's get you out of here." 

"You want me to run?" Derek asked, looking at Peter like he was crazy. "No, I want you to stay and get slaughtered by an Alpha with a psychotic foot fetish." Peter said sarcastically, "Of course, I want you to run. Sprint, gallop, leap your way the hell out of this town." 

"If you want to fight and die for something, fine with me. But do it for something meaningful." Cora said and Derek looked at her and raised his eyebrows slightly, "How do you know I'm going to lose?" He asked. 

"We don't... But, I'll bet they have an idea. Don't you, girls?" Peter said, making Lydia and Sawyer look at him. "I don't know anything." Lydia said and Peter raised his eyebrows, "But you both feel something, don't you?" Peter asked, making the girls glance at each other. 

"What do you feel?" Derek asked and Sawyer took a deep breath before sighing, "I feel like... like we're standing in a graveyard."

The alarm to the loft went off before Kali broke the box, turning to look at Sawyer, Lydia and Ethan who stood by the table. "Where is he?" Kali demanded and Sawyer glanced at Lydia and Ethan before shrugging slightly. 

"I think he said he was heading out to do some shopping, run a few errands... The usual werewolf afternoon... Or the usual to a werewolf who actually has a life." Sawyer said, making Kali raise her eyebrows, "Who do you think you're talking to?" Kali said and Lydia raised her eyebrows slightly. 

"Someone in desperate need of a pedicure. I'd be happy to give you a referral." Lydia said and Kali let out a low growl taking a step forward until Aiden growled, making her stop and turn to him.  "Oh really?" Kali asked, walking over to him, "Did someone take their assignments too seriously?" Kali asked, making Sawyer furrowed her brows slightly. 

"Assignments? Plural?" She asked, glancing at Lydia for a moment, "They're not the problem." Aiden said, making Kali glare at her, taking a step forward. "Maybe the problem is where your loyalties lie." Kali said, "Oh, God... Is this about to get really violent?" Lydia asked and Ethan nodded. 

"Probably." He said then all of the sudden the skylight above shattered making Ethan grab Sawyer and Lydia, pulling them off to the side as the body falls to the floor but lands solidly on two feet. Jennifer flipped her hair back as she looked up, before slowly standing up, her eyes never leaving Kali, "So... Who wants to go first?" She asked. 

Kali growled before quickly moving to kick Jennifer, who instantly dodged it making Kali waste no time throwing a roundhouse kick which Jennifer also dodged. Jennifer smirked as Kali went to kick her again, but Jennifer just ducked down, making Kali's foot over her head.

Jennifer threw her hand out making Kali go flying back. Aiden let out a growl as he walked around Jennifer making her turn to him. He swiped at her with his clawed hand but she dodged it before pushing him to the ground. Ethan got up, quickly taking off his jacket and running towards Aiden who ripped his shirt off while Sawyer pulled Lydia behind her. 

The twins grabbed each other's arms and started to merge as Jennifer walked over to them. She grabbed them by their necks and pulled them apart before throwing them into opposite walls. Jennifer turned to Kali, who quickly got up, Jennifer smirked darkly while Kali stared at her for a moment. 

"That's right, Kali... Look at me. Look at my face. Do you know what it takes to be able to look like this? To be able to look normal?" Jennifer asked and Kali shook her head slightly, "I don't care." She said. "It takes power. Power like this." Jennifer said as she slowly raised her hands up and all the glass around her rose as well. "I-I should've-" Kali started to say as Jennifer made all the glass point at her, "I should've ripped your head off!" Kali yelled. 

Jennifer let out a scream before thrusting her arms out and all the glass went flying towards Kali. Sawyer's eyes widened as Lydia gripped onto her as most of the glass embedded themselves into Kali. 

Jennifer slowly turned to Sawyer and Lydia, making Sawyer protectively grab Lydia's arm. A low growl made Jennifer look over to see the now merged twins standing off to the side making her tilt her head slightly. They walked towards her and swiped at her but she quickly ducked before spinning around, grabbing their neck before snapping it making Sawyer flinch slightly. 

"What's the line Coach likes to say? The bigger they are...?" She asked, looking at the girls. "What do you want from us?" Lydia asked in a slight whisper as she pressed her back against a pillar, "I want you to do what you do best, Lydia..." 

"I want you to scream." Jennifer said before all of the sudden her true face appeared. The decimated face of the Darach, making Lydia scream. A powerful shriek that travels up through the shattered glass of the loft and into the night.

Stunned, Derek gazes on Jennifer and the aftermath of the loft while Cora stood with Sawyer and Lydia, Sawyer who had a protective arm around Lydia. "You did this for me?" He asked skeptically as Jennifer shook her head, "For us. For anyone who's ever been their victim-" Jennifer said and Derek cut her off. 

"Stop talking to me like a politician. Stop trying to convince me of your cause!" Derek said angrily and she shrugged, "Fine. I'll convince you of someone else's- Scott's. You can save his mother, Stiles and Sawyer's father." She said, making Sawyer look up. Derek glanced back at Sawyer for a moment before taking a deep breath.

"How?" He asked and she started walking towards him, "I need a guardian... And that's a role that can either be filled by the three parents I was forced to take, or by you." She said and he sighed and shook his head. "I can't help you. I'm not even an Alpha anymore." He said and she shook her head. 

"All I need is for you to help me get Deucalion in the right place at the right time." She said and Derek shook his head slightly, "You just killed three of them on your own. What do you need me for?" He asked. "You haven't seen him at his strongest- I have. And, if he's got Scott with him, I don't stand a chance unless I have you." She said. 

"Derek, don't trust her." Cora said, making Derek glance over at her, "I have the eclipse in my favor. But, the moon's only gonna be in the earth's umbral shadow for fifteen minutes. That's the extent of my window. There's no decision to struggle with-- help me kill him, and the others live. Just help me." Jennifer said, making Derek look at her conflicted. 

⊚ 

"We have to get going. Guys, we can get help-" Cora said as she and Sawyer helped Lydia up and started walking towards the door, "From who?" Lydia asked and Cora shook her head. "I don't know, but we can't stay here." Cora said but then the slight sound of cracking made them stop and loom over at the twins to see them separated. Cora listened for a moment before her eyes widened. 

"They're alive." Cora said looking down at the twins, Sawyer was about to walk over to them but stopped when her eyes clouded over. She started seeing flashes of the storm, a cellar with Stilinski, Melissa, Argent, Allison and Isaac collapsing, and then the jeep crashing. 

Once her eyes went back to normal, Sawyer started backing up slightly. "Get them to Deaton's he'll be able to them." Sawyer said as she quickly ran towards the door, "Where are you going?" Lydia asked, making Sawyer stop in the doorway and look back at her. 

"My brother's in trouble..."

Sawyer anxiously tapped her finger against her steering wheel as she drove down the road, occasionally glancing up at the storm. She glanced over at the side of the road before quickly pressing down on the breaks when she saw the jeep. 

She quickly got out and ran over to the jeep, glancing at the front that hit a tree as she ripped open the driver side door. "Stiles!" Sawyer said, climbing into the jeep slightly, grabbing her brother's arms, "Hey, Stiles. Wake up." She said, shaking him slightly. 

"Stiles!" Sawyer yelled, lightly hitting his cheek and he slowly started to wake up, making her close her eyes and sigh in relief. "Are you okay? How's your neck?" Sawyer asked and Stiles groaned slightly, "I'm fine." He said. 

"Do you think you need a hospital or do you think you can help me save dad and the others? Cause the cellar they're in is going to collapse from the storm and I have no idea how much time we have." Sawyer said and Stiles took a moment before taking a deep breath and looking at his sister. 

"Let's go."

Isaac, Allison, and the parents desperately try to push back against the walls and beams supporting the ceiling even as the very structure of the root cellar appears to be collapsing in on them. 

The walls and ceiling continue their collapse, closing in on the group. Stripped of his supernatural power, Isaac buckles under the weight. "I can't hold it- I can't do it!" He yelled and Stilinski slipped in beside him to help. Argent, Allison and Melissa follow, hands and backs pressed against the beam. 

Suddenly feet hit the floor of the cellar and an aluminum baseball bat slides under the beam just as it drops down another inch. Astonishingly, it holds. Stilinski turns to find Stiles and Sawyer kneeling right next to him. He looks at the bat, then to his kids with a smile, "I told you aluminum was better than wood." He said. With a relieved smile, Stilinski wraps an arm around the twins while everyone else chuckled. 

A few minutes later Stiles pulls his ringing phone out of his pocket and puts it to his ear, "Scott?" 

"Hey, are you okay?" 

"Yeah, we're okay. We're all okay. How about you? You okay?" 

"Sort of." 

"You think you can come get us?" 

"Yeah, of course." 

"Great! Okay. Um, uh... Bring a ladder." Stiles said, making everyone laugh softly. 

⊚ 

Scott walked into the school and glanced around before noticing Lydia leaning against her locker, on her phone. Across the hall Ethan and Danny walked out of a class, holding hands. 

Allison and Isaac were walking down the stairs while Allison laughed at something Isaac said. Stiles walked up and patted Scott's shoulder while Sawyer threw her arm around Scott's shoulders making Scott look at him before they smiled at each other. 

Sawyer looked down the hall before noticing Lydia, the strawberry blonde girl looked up, her eyes instantly connecting with Sawyer's. They stared at each other for a moment before Lydia smiled softly, making Sawyer smile back.

So, I'm going to have to take a break from posting for a few days because I'm not done writing season 3B and I want to be done with it before I start posting any of it.

Not gonna lie, I got behind on writing because there was a bunch of stuff and watched/binged watched in the last few days (those being Multiverse Of Madness, Ms. Marvel, The Umbrella Academy and season 4 of Legacies)
