Chapter One
๐Ÿบ Wolf Moon ๐Ÿบ

Scott McCall sat on his bed in his room, wearing only a pair of gym shorts, as he re-threads the laces on his lacrosse stick. Once he determined that the net on his stick is secure and loose enough, he tossed the stick on his bed before walking toward the bathroom door, where he had a bar mounted on the lintel.

After doing a series of chin-ups, Scott goes into the bathroom, where he brushes his teeth and washes his face before bed. Suddenly a noise sounded outside making him pause to listen for danger. He quickly slipped on a shirt and a red hoodie before grabbing a baseball back and slowly walking out the house.

All of the sudden a figure falls off the roof, hanging by their feet making Scott scream and was about to hit the person until he noticed it was Stiles Stilinski, his best friend who was also screaming.

"Stiles, what the hell are you doing?!" Scott yelled and Stiles looked at his best friend in exasperation. "You weren't answering your phone!" Stiles said before all of the sudden a girl popped out of the bushes in front of the porch making Scott jump back, letting out a small scream.

"Sawyer!" Scott said, making the girl, Sawyer Stilinski, laugh as she climbed over the railing of the porch. Stiles and Sawyer are twins and they're probably the most chaotic twins someone could ever meet. Stiles had a buzz cut while Sawyer's hair reached her shoulder with bangs framing her forehead.

"Why do you have a bat?" Sawyer asked and Scott rolled his eyes and lowered the bat. "I thought you were a predator!" He said, making Stiles squint at him, "A pre... Wha?" He asked before scoffing lightly.

"Look, I know it's late, but you gotta hear this. I saw my dad leave twenty minutes ago. Dispatch called- they're bringing in every officer from the Beacon Department, and even state police." Stiles said and Scott furrowed his brows, "For what?" He asked and Sawyer smiled.

"Two joggers found a body in the woods." She said before Stiles got down, "What, a dead body?" Scott asked as Stiles stood up. "No, a body of water." He said sarcastically, "Yes, dumbass, a dead body!" He said before climbing over the railing onto the porch.

"You mean, like, murdered?" Scott asked and Sawyer shrugged slightly, "Nobody knows yet. Just that it was a girl, probably in her twenties." She said and Scott frowned. "Hold on, if they found the body, then what are they looking for?" Scott asked and the twins looked at him with excitement, "That's the best part- they only found half." Stiles

"We're going." Sawyer and Stiles both said at the same time.

Minutes later the two pull into the preserve in Stiles' teal blue Jeep, illuminating the sign warning against entry after dark with the Jeep's headlights. "We're seriously doing this?" Scott asked as they climbed out of the jeep, "You're the one always bitching that nothing ever happens in this town." Sawyer said before patting Scott's shoulder and walking into the woods.

"I was trying to get a good night's sleep before practice tomorrow." Scott said while following behind Stiles, "Right, 'cause sitting on the bench is such a grueling effort." Stiles said sarcastically. "No, because I'm playing this year. In fact, I'm making first line." Scott said.

"Hey, that's the spirit! Everyone should totally have a dream, even a pathetically unrealistic one." Sawyer said, making Scott chuckle and shake his head while Stiles gave his sister a look. "You're one to talk." Stiles said, making Sawyer look at him crazy, "I'm first line unlike you two." She said and Stiles raised his eyebrows.

"You've never made a single goal at a game." He said and she shrugged, "Because I have social anxiety and the crowd makes me nervous!" She said. "Then why are you even on the team?" He asked and she squinted at him, "Why are you when all you do is sit the bench? And hey, I make the most goals during practice. The team doesn't care if I don't make goals as long as I play defense and pass the ball." Sawyer said before sticking her tongue out at him.

"Just out of curiosity, which half of the body are we looking for?" Scott asked and Stiles furrowed his brows slightly, "Huh! I didn't even think about that." He said and Scott nodded slowly.

"And, uh... what if whoever killed the body is still out here?" Scott asked and Sawyer pursed her lips, "Also something I didn't think about." She said as she pointed at him and Scott rolled his eyes in amusement as the three started to hike up a hill. "It's comforting to know you've both planned this out with your usual attention to detail." Scott said and the twins nodded, "I know." They both said at the same time.

Scott's breathing starts to become rapid, shallow, and wheezy as the three continue up the hill, with Scott struggling to keep up with the twins' quick pace. "Maybe the severe asthmatic should be the one holding the flashlight, huh?" Scott asked as he leaned his back against a nearby tree while he pulled his inhaler out of his pocket. However, when Stiles and Sawyer keep pushing on, Scott continues to make his way up the hill after him.

When they see a handful of people ahead of them waving flashlights around as part of the search, the three dive behind a large fallen tree branch as they plan their next move, turning off the flashlight so they don't attract attention. Unfortunately for them, Stiles' impatience eventually wins out as he jumped up and ran toward the action.

"Come on!" Stiles said before running off making Sawyer quickly follow while Scott, still wheezing, tries to stop the twins, to no avail. "Stiles! Sawyer! Wait up!" Scott called out before he quickly took a hit from his inhaler before scrambling to catch up with him. He tries his best to call after his best friend without also alerting anyone else that they are there, "Stiles! Sawyer!"

The twins finally heard the last attempt to call their names, but the split second of distraction caused the nearby K9 officer to start barking at them, scaring the both of them so much they fell backwards onto the ground. The deputy with the search dog immediately points his flashlight at Stiles and Sawyer as they try to recover from the shock.

"Hold it right there!"

Scott, several meters behind him, quickly hides behind a nearby tree, pressing his back to it and closing his eyes as though it will keep him from being seen. "Hang on, hang on..." A voice said as the twins stood to their feet, shielding their eyes from the bright flashlight held toward them by the deputy.

"These little delinquents belongs to me." Sheriff Stilinski said and Stiles, trying to play it cool, nodded at him, "Dad, how are you doing?" He asked and Stilinski raised his eyebrows. "So, do you two, uh, listen in to all of my phone calls?" He asked and Sawyer shook her head, "No... Not the boring ones." She said and Stilinski sighed and nodded slightly.

"Now, where's your usual partner in crime?" He asked as he glanced around, "Who, Scott? Scott's home. He said he wanted to get a good night's sleep for the first day back at school tomorrow. It's just us... In the woods... Alone..." Stiles said awkwardly and Sawyer nodded in agreement.

It is obvious that Stilinski doesn't buy what Stiles is saying, and he lifts his flashlight and tries to get a look around to find Scott, who is still hiding behind the tree. "Scott, you out there? Scott?" Stilinski called out and waited for a moment before sighing and looking back at the kids and looking around slightly.

"Did you bring Anakin?" He asked, making Sawyer's eyes widen slightly, "No..." She said, making him sigh. "Sawyer!" He said and Sawyer nodded, "I know! But I haven't had a panic attack in months." She said and her father just gave her a look. "Still supposed to bring him with you in case you do." He said before he roughly grabbed his kids by their shoulders, steering them toward the entrance to the preserve.

"Now, young man and woman, I'm gonna walk you back to your car... And then we are gonna have a conversation about something called 'invasion of privacy'."

As the twins and the Stilinski leave, Scott closes his eyes and hits the back of his head on the tree, mouthing "Damn!" under his breath when he realizes that by hiding himself, he lost his way home. Scott waits until the coast is clear before heading in the opposite direction through the woods, following the same path he and Stiles took to get there.

Thunder and lightning flickers overhead as Scott carefully makes his way back, pulling up the hood to his sweatshirt to try to keep his head dry from the steady rain. It's evident that he's unnerved by the sounds of the forest animals around him, but when he makes it to a foggy clearing, he becomes unnerved by the fact that it falls totally silent.

He pulls his inhaler out of his hoodie once again and shakes it, intending to take another hit when suddenly, a herd of deer begin frantically stampeding toward him, trampling him over and causing his inhaler to fly several meters away.

Once the deer have cleared out, Scott, still in shock, gets to his feet and starts looking for his inhaler using his cell phone as a light source. He's about to search through a pile of dead leaves when he's startled when he instead uncovers the top half of the body that Stiles had told him about- young, with dark hair and very clearly bisected at the waist.

The shock of this sight stuns him so badly that he loses his balance and tumbles down the hill behind him and into a ravine. Scott, shaken, stands to his feet with a groan, using a fallen tree trunk to help himself up due to the aches and pains caused by his fall.

He makes his way quickly through the woods, wanting nothing more than to get out of there as soon as possible, when all of the sudden, a growl heard behind him causes him to freeze in fear. He slowly turns around, only to find a large, bestial wolf with glowing red eyes standing before him.

Scott barely has time to gasp before the beast leaped toward him, causing him to fall backward onto the ground. Though Scott attempts to crawl away, the wolf grabs him by the ankles and pulls him backwards before viciously biting him on his side, causing Scott to roar in pain.

Panicked, Scott scrambles through the woods, tripping and tumbling all the way as he desperately tries to evade whatever bit him. When Scott finally makes it to the nearest road, he stops just before being hit by someone driving a burgundy SUV, who manages to swerve away from him just in the nick of time. Finally more or less safe, Scott takes a moment to lift the hem of his hoodie up, examining the large bite wound on his hip with horror as the rain continues to pour down around him.

Suddenly, a loud wolf howl is heard from in the woods making Scott glance back at the woods as he breathed heavily.

๐Ÿบ

Scott rode his bike through the school parking lot, where he jumped off just as he made it to the bike rack in front of the school. He takes off his helmet and hangs it on the handlebars, adjusting his backpack with his lacrosse stick strapped to the back just as Jackson Whittemore, driving a silver Porsche, pulls into the parking spot next to him.

Jackson gets out of the car, hitting Scott in the back with the door before shooting him a nasty look. "Dude! Watch the paint job." He said and Scott looked at him with an offended expression, but before they could interact further, someone called out. "Yo, Jackson! Let's go, bro." Jackson walks away without another word, though he does turn his head back to shoot Scott a glare before he leaves.

"Okay, let's see this thing." Sawyer said, clapping her hands slightly as Scott walked up to her and Stiles. Next to Sawyer sat Sawyer's psychiatric service dog, Anakin. He is a four-year-old golden retriever with only one eye and a Star Wars theme service dog vest.

Scott lifts up his shirt to show them his bite wound, which is covered with gauze and tape that has a small amount of blood leaking through. "Ooh!" Stiles said as he poked the bandage making Scott flinch, "Whoa!"

Scott pulls his shirt back down as the two resume their walk into the school. "It was too dark to see much, but I'm pretty sure it was a wolf." Scott said and Sawyer looked at Scott with raised eyebrows, "A wolf bit you?" She asked and Scott nodded, making Stiles shake his head.

"No, not a chance." He said and Scott raised his eyebrows, "I heard a wolf howling." Scott said and the twins scoffed and shook their heads. "No, you didn't." They both said and Scott rolled his eyes, "What do you mean, 'No, I didn't'? How do you know what I heard?" He asked

"Because California doesn't have wolves, okay? Not in, like, sixty years." Sawyer said and Scott looked at her surprised as the three stopped by the staircase. "Really?" Scott asked as Stiles turned to face him, "Yes, really. There are no wolves in California." He said and Scott nodded slightly.

"All right. Well, if you don't believe me about the wolf, then you're definitely not gonna believe me about when I tell you I found the body." Scott said, making Stiles' and Sawyer's eyes widened in excitement, "You- are you kidding me?" He asked and Scott shook his head. "No, man, I wish. I'm gonna have nightmares for a month." Scott said and Stiles laughed.

"Oh, god, that is freakin' awesome. I mean, this is seriously gonna be the best thing that's happened to this town since..." Stiles started to say but trailed off when he saw Sawyer staring off in the distance not paying attention to them at all. He followed his line of sight to see Lydia Martin getting out of her car making him roll his eyes dramatically.

"Since my sister used to actually pay attention to her brother and friend instead of staring at her childhood crush. Sawyer!" Stiles said dramatically, making her turn to them wide eyed. "What?" She asked and he squinted at her, "Scott. Bite. Dead body. Pay attention." He said and she shrugged slightly.

"I was listening." She said and Scott raised his eyebrows, "You were staring at Lydia." He said, making her eyes widen. "No I wasn't." She said, "Yes, you were." Both boys said, making her frown at them as Lydia started to walk past them.

Sawyer just watched her walk past before letting out a deep breath while Scott raised his eyebrows. "Why don't you just try talking to her?" Scott asked making Sawyer give him a look, "I'm an anxiety and ADHD filled geek with you as a best friend and Stiles as a brother. Pretty sure those say a lot on their own." Sawyer said, making them look at her offended as she just shrugged and started to walk away.

๐Ÿบ

Scott, Stiles, Sawyer and Anakin walked their first period English class and took their seats, Sawyer taking the last seat in the row so Anakin isn't in anyone's way. "As you all know, there indeed was a body found in the woods last night." Mr. Curtis said and Scott looked back at Stiles and Sawyer, who sat next to each other, as they winked at him knowingly.

"And I am sure your eager little minds are coming up with various macabre scenarios as to what happened. But I am here to tell you that the police have a suspect in custody." He said, making Scott glance back at the twins who both shrugged. "Which means your undivided attention can be given to the syllabus outlining the semester on your desks." Mr. Curtis said, making most of the students groan.

A few minutes later, the vice principal walked into the classroom with the girl following behind. "Class, this is our new student, Allison Argent." The principal said, "Please do your best to make her feel welcome." The principal said before walking out. Allison, who looks nervous, smiles weakly before finding the only open seat in the class, which just happens to be the seat behind Scott.

Scott, having heard Allison's conversation with her mother earlier, knows that she forgot a pen and offers her one of his own. Allison looks surprised by the gesture, but smiles at him gratefully. "Thanks." She said as she grabbed it. Scott smiles before turning back around in his seat so she can't see him blush. Mr. Curtis picks up where he left off as Allison looks confused by this interaction.

๐Ÿบ

After class ends, the students file out and go to their lockers. Scott's locker is across the hallway and several meters down from Allison. Allison closed her locker and turned around before Scott caught her eye and she smiled at him before Lydia Martin walked up to her.

Scott continued to watch them from afar and eavesdrop on them with his newly-enhanced hearing as Stiles, Sawyer and a girl named Harley join him by his own locker.

"That jacket is absolutely killer. Where'd you get it?" Lydia asked and Allison awkwardly glanced down at her jacket, "My mom was a buyer for a boutique back in San Francisco." She said and Lydia hummed before smiling. "And you, are my new best friend." Lydia said before Jackson runs up and puts his arm around Lydia's waist, "Hey, Jackson." Lydia said before kissing him.

"Barf." Sawyer mumbled, rolling her eyes as she watched them from her locker. Harley, who is also watching the scene, looked at the trio incredulously, though Scott is too busy listening to Allison, Lydia, and Jackson's conversation to hear her.

"Can someone tell me how New Girl is here all of five minutes, and she's already hanging out with Lydia's clique?" She asked and the twins shrugged slightly.

"Because she's hot." Sawyer and Stiles both said, making Harley give them a look, and Stiles just shrugged, "Beautiful people herd together." He said and Sawyer nodded in agreement. Scott was so distracted by listening to Allison, Lydia and Jackson talk that he didn't even react to his friends' argument.

"So, this weekend, there's a party." Lydia said and Allison raised her eyebrows, "A party?" She asked and Jackson nodded. "Yeah, Friday night. You should come." Jackson said and Allison awkwardly shook her head, "Uh, I can't. It's family night this Friday. Thanks for asking." She said and Jackson raised his eyebrows.

"You sure? Everyone's going after the scrimmage." He said and Allison raised her eyebrows, "You mean like football." She said and Jackson laughed as though she was kidding. "Football's a joke in Beacon. The sport here is lacrosse. We've won the state championship for the past three years." He said and Lydia ruffled his hair, "Because of a certain team captain." She said and Jackson smiled at her before looking at Allison.

"Well, we have practice in a few minutes. That is, if you don't have anywhere else-" He said and Allison cut him off in an attempt to talk her way out of it, "Well, I was going to-" She said but got cut off by Lydia. "Perfect! You're coming." She said as she grabbed Allison's hand and pulling her down the hallway.

๐Ÿบ

"But if you play, I'll have no one to talk to on the bench. Are you really gonna do that to your best friend? It's bad enough that Sawyer does it." Stiles asked as he chased after Scott, Sawyer and Anakin, "I can't sit out again. My whole life is sitting on the sidelines." He said as he set his bag down. "This season, I make first line." He said and Sawyer raised her eyebrows at him.

"You couldn't walk through the woods without using your inhaler like three times. How do you expect to make first line?" Sawyer asked, "You have severe anxiety but you made first line." He said. "That's different because playing the game distracts me from any panic attack... Until I have the opportunity to make a goal. But you can't just distract yourself from your asthma by running." Sawyer said but Scott was too distracted by Lydia and Allison climbing the bleachers to listen to her.

Allison caught his eye and smiled at him, but before he could smile back, Coach Finstock appeared in front of him. "McCall!" He yelled, making Scott turn to him, "Yeah?" He asked. Coach roughly tossed a lacrosse stick with a much bigger net and a bigger helmet to Scott, who caught them after they smacked him on the chest.

"You're on goal." Coach said, making Scott down slightly, "I've never played..." He said and Coach nodded. "I know- scoring some shots will give the boys a confidence boost. It's a first-day-back thing." Coach said before roughly patting Scott's shoulder, "Get 'em energized! Fired up!" He said.

"What about me?" Scott asked and Coach nodded slightly, "Try not to take any in the face." He said and he smacked Scott lightly on the cheek before turning toward the field to start the try-outs. "Let's go! Come on!"

"Stay with Stiles." Sawyer said as Anakin jumped up onto the bench, laying down next to Stiles before Sawyer ran onto the field. Scott looked in the direction of Allison and Lydia before a whistle blew making him cringe and put his hands on his helmet, something Sawyer noticed making her furrow her brows.

One of the bigger players charges forward as the Assistant Coach passes the ball to him. Catching it, he whips his stick forward, hurdling the ball toward the goal. Still affected by the whistle, Scott looks up too late to see the ball soaring toward him. And instead of him catching it, the ball goes straight to his helmet making Sawyer and Stiles both cringe as everyone else laughed.

"Hey, way to catch with your face, McCall!" Jackson yelled and Sawyer looked at him, "Whittewhore!" Sawyer called out, making Jackson roll his eyes before looking back at her. "I'd tell you to suck my dick but I wouldn't want to get herpes." She said as she gave him a fake smile while Jackson just rolled his eyes.

The next player stepped up but this time Scott caught it making Sawyer's jaw drop slightly. Soon enough Scott was catching every ball thrown at him making his friends cheer but that soon died down as Jackson walked up. Everyone watched as Jackson took the shot and the ball landed right in the pocket of the goalie stick. Stiles shot up cheering while Sawyer cheered from the line of lacrosse players, even Lydia stood up and cheered.

Jackson is appalled by the fact that Scott got one over on him, and Lydia gives Jackson a very pointed look. This does nothing but make Jackson more furious with Scott for taking his glory as the best player on the team. Allison watches Scott with interest as he throws a back-shot at the assistant coach, who just barely catches it with his own stick.

๐Ÿบ

"I don't know what it was. I mean I felt like I had all the time in the world to catch the ball. And that's not the only weird thing. I mean I can hear stuff I shouldn't be able to hear. And I can smell things." Scott said as Stiles and Sawyer, along with Anakin, followed behind him. The three were in the woods looking for the inhaler Scott dropped.

"Smell things? Like what?" Stiles asked, "Like the mint mojito gum in your pocket." Scott asked, making Stiles look at him confused, digging into his pocket, "I don't have any-" Stiles started to say before cutting himself off as he pulled out a piece of gum.

"So all this started with the bite?" Sawyer asked, "What if it's an infection? What if my body is flooding with adrenaline before I fall into shock? I knew I should have gone to the ER." Scott said panicky.

"I've actually heard of this. It's a specific kind of infection." Stiles said, making Sawyer look at him with an amused look while Scott looked at him with panic, "Are you serious?" Scott asked. "I think it's called... Lycanthropy." Stiles asked, making Sawyer quietly chuckle while Scott's eyes widened.

"What's that? Is it bad? It sounds bad." Scott said nervously and Sawyer quickly started to play along, "Oh yeah, It is. But only once a month." She said, making Scott look at her. "Once a month?" Scott said, sounding both nervous and confused, "On the night of a full moon." Stiles said and then both him and Sawyer howled, making Scott catch on and push Stiles. "You're an ass." Scott said, making the twins laugh.

"Hey, you're the one who heard a wolf howling." Sawyer said, raising her hand up in surrender, "There could be something seriously wrong with me." Scott said. "I know! You're a werewolf! Okay, obviously, I'm kidding. But if you see me in shop class melting down all the silver I can find it's because Friday's a full moon." Stiles said as Scott crouched down and started digging through the leaves.

"I swear this was it. The body was here. The deer came running, I dropped my inhaler." Scott said and Sawyer bent down next to him to help him look. "Maybe the killer moved the body." Stiles suggested. "If he did, I hope he left my inhaler. Those things are like eighty bucks." Scott said.

All of the sudden Stiles tapped them both on the shoulders making them look at him and at where he was looking. Anakin let out a low growl making Sawyer look down at him in shock, "Anakin, no." She said, making Anakin stop growling and just step closer to her.

"What are you doing here?" He asked but they were too stunned to speak at first, "This is private property." He said. "Sorry, we didn't know." Stiles said but the man barely noticed him as he looked at Scott, "We were just looking for something. Forget it. Sorry to bother you." Scott said slowly but then the man dug in his pocket then tossed something at Scott. Scott looked down at his hand to see his inhaler.

They all looked back at the man as he turned around and walked away. "Come on. I have to get to work." Scott said, watching as the man walked away. "Dude, that was Derek Hale. You remember, right? He's only a few years older than us." Stiles said and Scott furrowed his brows, "Remember what?" Scott asked.

"His family. They all burned to death in a fire like six years ago." Sawyer said, making Scott glance back in the direction that Scott went, "I wonder what he's doing back." Scott said.

"I need to get to work." Scott said and Sawyer nodded in agreement, "Me too." She said before they started to walk away,

๐Ÿบ

The next day, on the high school lacrosse field, Scott sat on the bench as he prepared to go on the field for try-outs when Stiles and Sawyer frantically ran up to him. "Scott! Scott, wait up." Stiles called out and Scott glanced back at him, "Stiles, I'm playing the first elimination, man. Can it wait?" He asked and tried to walk away, but Stiles grabbed him by the shoulders.

"Just hold on, okay? We overheard our dad on the phone. The fiber analysis came back from the lab in L.A. They found animal hairs on the body from the woods!" Sawyer said and Scott sighed and shook his head, "Guys, I gotta go. So do you Sawyer." He said, distracted by the prospect of making first line, picks up his lacrosse stick and helmet before jogging onto the field.

"Wait, no! Scott! You're not gonna believe what the animal was!" Stiles called out, "It was a wolf..." He said in a slight whisper before he and Sawyer glanced at each other. "Stay." Sawyer said, glancing down at Anakin, who laid down before Sawyer ran out onto the field.

Coach Finstock has just moved to the center of the field, where he calls all of the players to circle around him. "Let's go! Gather round! Bring it in, come on! Come on!" He called out. Allison walked on the sidelines, getting ready to settle down in the bleachers to watch the practice for the second day in a row. She waves at Scott, who waves back to her, though it doesn't escape Coach's notice.

"Got a question, McCall?" Coach asked making Scott look at him slightly alarmed, "What?" He asked. "You raised your hand. You have a question?" Coach asked and Scott awkwardly shook his head, "Oh. No. I was just, uh... Nothing. Sorry." He said and Coach turned back to the test of the team.

"Okay. You know how this goes. If you don't make the cut, you're most likely sitting on the bench for the rest of the season. You make the cut? You play. Your parents are proud. Your girlfriend loves ya! Huh? Everything else is, uh... cream cheese. Now, get out there and show me whatcha got! Come on!" At Coach's order, the players scatter on the field, cheering and whooping to get each other focused on practice.

Practice begins with the players doing a drill in which they pass the ball back and forth between each other. Scott bounces on the balls of his feet while he waits for the ball to be thrown his way. Once again, when the ball heads his way, he's shocked when he actually catches it with minimal effort.

He starts running down the field, but when he spins around to avoid getting the ball stolen by another player, Jackson appears out of nowhere and tackles him hard. Jackson lifts up his helmet so he can smirk smugly at Scott before jogging away, which made Scott's face scrunch up in motivational anger.

Scott and Jackson are up against each other for the lacrosse equivalent of a kickoff, and the two stare at each other for a long moment until Coach blows the whistle. Much to Jackson's dismay, Scott easily snatches the ball before he can even react, forcing him to chase after him as fast as he can.

Just like the previous day's practice, everything seems to slow down around Scott, allowing him to spin out of the way when the other players try to tackle him, jumping over another player's ankle when they try to trip him, and finally, doing a hands-free round-off flip over three players who attempted to knock him down together, and shooting the goal by throwing the ball between the goalie's legs.

Scott gasps, clearly having difficulty believing what had just happened, and Jackson looks both furious and desperate to know what Scott's secret is. When Scott pumps his fists into the air, the other players run up to him and smack him affectionately on the shoulders, and Allison stands up in the stands to clap and cheer for him.

"McCall! Get over here!" Coach yelled, making Scott's eyes widen slightly before he jogged over to where Coach is standing while taking off his helmet. "What in God's name was that? This is a lacrosse field. What, are you trying out for the gymnastics team?" Coach asked and Scott shook his head, "No, Coach."

"What the hell was that?" Coach asked and Scott shrugged slightly, "I don't know. I-I was just trying to make the shot." He said and Coach nodded. "Yeah, well, you made the shot. And guess what?" He asked as he slapped Scott playfully on the arm. "You're startin', buddy. You made first line. Come on!"

Scott is so excited that he bounces happily, and all the players on the field and bench clap for him except for Stiles and Sawyer. Both of them glanced at each other, concerned by the uncharacteristically athletic prowess Scott showed on the field.

๐Ÿบ

Sawyer and Stiles sat in his room in front of his computer, eyes locked onto his computer screen, Stiles bounces from one web page to the next as Sawyer occasionally points things out. Words and images pop up on the screen, flashing across his face- Wolfsbane, Silver Bullets, Lycaon, Aconite, drawings of werewolves in different forms, one mostly human, another a massive fur-covered creature and yet another appearing as a normal wolf.

Suddenly a knock sounded at the door and the twins practically leapt out of their chairs. Stiles rushed to the door, unlocking it to find Scott standing out in the hall. "Get in. You have to see this. We've been reading. Websites, books, all this information." Stiles said in a rush, making Scott smile and look at Sawyer.

"How much Adderall did you guys have today?" He asked and before she shook her head, "A lot. Doesn't matter, just listen." She said and went to talk but Scott did first. "Is this about the body? Did they find who did it?" He asked and Stiles shook his head.

"No, they're still questioning people. Even Derek Hale. Anyways, Remember the joke the other day? Not a joke anymore. The wolf. The bite in the woods. I started doing all this reading- Do you even know why a wolf howls?" Stiles asked.

"Should I?" Scott asked confused and Sawyer sighed, "It's a signal. When a wolf is alone it howls to signal its location to the rest of the pack." She said and Stiles nodded. "So if you heard it howling that means there's others. Maybe a whole pack of them." Stiles said and Scott cocked his eyebrows at his spastic friend, "A pack of wolves?" Scott said and the twins shook their heads.

"No, werewolves." They both said at the same time making Scott give them an annoyed look. "You're seriously wasting my time with this? You know, I'm picking Allison up in an hour." Scott said, getting frustrated making Sawyer sigh, "We saw you on the field, Scott. What you did wasn't just amazing. It was impossible." She said.

"So, I made a good shot." Scott said, while shrugging, "No, you made an incredible shot. The way you moved- the speed, your reflexes-people can't suddenly do that overnight." Stiles said and Sawyer nodded. "And then there's the hearing, the senses, and don't think I haven't noticed you don't need your inhaler anymore. You haven't used it since that night." She stressed but Scott was barely listening and was just getting more and more annoyed.

"I can't think about this now. We'll talk tomorrow, okay?" Scott said and went to turn but Stiles stopped him, "Tomorrow? Scott, the full moon is tonight." Stiles said. "What are you trying to do? I just made starting lineup. I have a date with a girl I can't believe actually wants to go out with me. Everything in my life is somehow perfect. Why are you guys trying to ruin it?" Scott asked in frustration.

"We're trying to help. With the full moon it's going to be too hard to resist and there's no going back. You're cursed, Scott. And it's not only that the moon causes you to change, it's also when your bloodlust will be at its peak." Sawyer said and Scott gave her a look, "Bloodlust?" Scott asked.

"Your urge to kill." Stiles said and Scott looked at him annoyed, "I'm already starting to have an urge to kill, Stiles." Scott said, "You need to hear this. The change can be caused by anger or anything that raises your pulse. And I've never seen anyone raise your pulse like Allison does. You have to cancel your date. You have to call her." Stiles said and then moved to Scott's backpack.

"What are you doing? Give me that."

"I'm just finding her number-"

"Give it to me!" Scott yelled, his voice low and guttural, he yanks the phone out of Stiles's hand and shoves him against the wall. "Scott!" Sawyer yelled, making Scott pull back and instead of hitting Stiles, hit the desk chair sending it flying across the room, like it weighed nothing. Then, shaking with anger, he gazes up, realizing what just happened.

"I didn't mean to do that." Scott said and went to step closer to Stiles but stopped when Stiles flinched. "I'm sorry. Really, I didn't mean it. I have to go. I have to get ready for the party. I'm sorry." Scott said, grabbing his jacket, sparing a glance to Sawyer before leaving.

"Are you okay?" Sawyer asked, rushing over to her brother, who Stiles nodded and gradually stood up with the help of Sawyer. He slowly picks up the desk chair, putting it back before pausing and slowly turning the chair around. "Sawyer." He whispered, making her look at the chair and her eyes widened slightly as she noticed the claw marks on the back of the chair.

"Holy shit... Werewolves are real..."

A while later Sawyer and Stiles were talking to some guys at the party when all of the sudden Scott, who looked like he was in pain, started to walk past making Stiles and Sawyer look at him worriedly. "Yo, Scott. You good?" Stiles asked and Scott just ignored them as he walked past them.

Sawyer and Stiles glanced at each other before quickly running after Scott.

Scott walked into his room, drenched in sweat as he closed his door, leaning against it before sliding down slightly. He breathed heavily as he looked out the window, getting a perfect view of the full moon outside.

He took a deep breath before getting up and going over to his bathroom where he turned the shower on. He sat down in the tub, still wearing his pants, as he let the water cascade down him. He suddenly winced in pain, grabbing his head before looking down at his hand to see claws growing out of his finger tips.

He quickly got up and wiped away the condensation only to find his teeth had grown into canines. His eyes started to glow yellow before there was the sudden rapid knocking at his door. "Go away." Scott said, "Scott, it's us." Stiles and Sawyer both said as Scott walked over to the door.

He unlocked the door but only opened it a couple inches, "Let us in, Scott. We can help." Stiles said. "No! Listen, you gotta find Allison." Scott said and Sawyer sighed, "She's fine, all right? I saw her get a ride from the party. She's- she's totally fine, okay?" Sawyer said.

"No, I think I know who it is." Scott said and Stiles tried to push in again, "Dude, just let us in! We can try-" Stiles started to say but Scott cut him off. "It's Derek. Derek Hale is the Werewolf! He's the one that bit me. He's the one that killed the girl in the woods." He said making the twins stop and look at each other for a moment.

"Scott... Derek's the one who drove Allison from the party." Sawyer said and Scott paused for a moment before slamming the door shut. "Scott!" Stiles and Sawyer yelled as they tried to open the door but Scott had locked it again.

The jeep pulled up to the Argent Household before Stiles and Sawyer quickly got out and ran over to the front door. Sawyer rang the doorbell a few times before Stiles knocked on the door, "Come on. Come on. Come on." Stiles said.

"Calm down." Sawyer whispered sharply before the door opened making them look over to see Allison's mom. "Hi, Mrs. Argent. Um - You have no idea who we are. We're friends of your daughter's." Stiles said and Sawyer nodded, "Well- not really but we're friends with the guy she went to the part with. Uhhh, look, this is gonna sound kind of crazy." Sawyer said and Stiles nodded.

"Really crazy, actually. You know what? Crazy doesn't even describe-" Stiles started to say before Mrs. Argent just turned away from them, looking up at the stars. "Allison! It's for you." She called out before Allison walked over to the balcony at the top of the staircase, perfectly fine.

Stiles and Sawyer looked up at her with wide eyes before glancing at each other in relief.

Scott was walking alongside the road, clutching his arm where he had gotten shot with an arrow the previous night, when the jeep pulled up to him. "Get in Wolfie." Sawyer said as she stuck her head out the window before climbing into the back where Anakin was, as Scott walked over.

"You know what actually worries me the most?" Scott asked as Stiles started driving, making the twins glance at each other through the rearview mirror. "If you say 'Allison', I'm gonna punch you in the head." Stiles said and Scott sighed, "She probably hates me now." He said, making Sawyer roll her eyes.

"I doubt that, but you might want to come up with a pretty amazing apology. Or, you know, you could just tell her the truth and revel in the awesomeness of the fact that you're a frickin' Werewolf." Sawyer said, making Scott give her a look, "Okay, bad idea." She said as she held her hands up in defense.

"Hey, we'll get through this. Come on, if we have to, we'll chain you up ourselves on full moon nights and feed you live mice." Stiles said and Scott looked over at him while Sawyer nodded, "We had a boa once. We could do it." She said, making Scott chuckle while the twins smiled.
