When they got to Deenas house, the two crept silently up the stairs, knowing it was late. They made it to Deenas room and they both plopped onto her bed.

They instantly fell asleep, both feeling the comfort they sought after tonight events as they layer next to each other.

Β  Β  Β  Β  The next morning, Deena was the first awake. She had noticed how the girl she was confused on her feelings about, was tucked securely under her arm and pressed against her.

Β  Β  Β  Β Β  Deena felt at peace as she stared down at the beauty sleeping soundly next to her, flopping her head down on the pillow and pretending to wake up again as Bunny began to stir awake.

Β  Β  Β  Β  When Bunny's eyes opened she quickly looked down and realized Deenas arm was wrapped around her waist and butterflies, no an entire zoo, erupted in her stomach.

"Morning," Deena said, pulling her arm away as she sat up stretching.

"M-Morning," Bunny said, clearing her throat, trying to rid the butterflies and the heat that rushed to her cheeks.

"Are you okay? You're looking kind of red there," Deena said, getting off the bed and beginning to walk towards the door.

"I'm fine! Where are you going?" Bunny asked.

"I'm going to see if Josh is awake," she said, walking out of the room.

"Okay!" She answered, flopping back onto the bed as Deena left her sight.

Deena came back into the room a few ministers later, Bunny taking that as a sign that Josh was awake.

"Do you have any plans today, Bee?" Deena asked.

"I have to babysit with Simon and Kate tonight," she answered, not missing the flash of disappointment on Deenas face, "but I can cancel if you want to hang out... I mean, the two of them would be able to handle two kids."

"No, it's fine! I was just wondering!" Deena said, giving Bunny a smile.

Bunny could see Deena was upset, for reasons she didn't know why, but she didn't like it. So she did the only thing she could think of.

"I'll make it up to you! How about..." she paused thinking of something, "I'll buy food the next time we hang out? Maybe burgers?"

Deena looked up with a big smile, "I'd like that!"

"Cool!" Bunny said.

"Cool," Deena repeated.

The tension got thick in the room, Bunny swallowing hard as she glanced down at Deenas lips, unbeknownst to her, Deena doing the same.

They subconsciously began to lean in slowly, only to have the door be slammed open by Josh, "Bunny! Kates calling! Said that she needs your help with something! It was about blueberries, I think?"

"What the fuck, man?!?" Deena yelled, Bunny sighing as she moved off of her bed.

"I guess I should go... thanks for letting me stay here Deena. I'll see you with those burgers later," she said, saluting to Josh as she passed him.

When Deena heard the front door shut, she turned and grabbed a shoe, throwing it at her brother and hitting him in the chest.

"Hey! It's not my fault you didn't kiss her! You've had years to do it!" He said, running and closing the door as she threw another shoe.

Β  Β  Β Β  "Fuck," Deena breathed out, "He's right."

β€”

Β  Β  Β Β  "-And I think we were about to kiss before Josh interrupted us!" Bunny said, ranting to Kate as she stood on her front porch, waiting for Simon to come.

Β  Β  Β  "Damn, that must suck," Kate said laughing slightly as Bunny finished her story.

Β  Β  Β  Β  "It does!" She says, rubbing her hands together, "Where the fuck is Simon? We're already going to have to walk to the kids house in the cold and he's taking forever!"

Β  Β Β  "He's right there," Kate said, pointing at the the boy who walked up to the house, "what took you so long?"

"None of your business!" Simon says, "Come on, let's go! It's cold out here!"

"No, really? We had no idea!" Bunny says, sarcasm laced in her voice.

Simon looked at her confused, "Who the fuck hurt you?"

"No one." She muttered, looking down at her feet.

"Okayyy," he dragged out, "then who pissed you off?"

"Deenas brother Josh! He interrupted what would've, and should've, been the first kiss of their relationship," Kate said, smirking at Bunny.

Simon burst out laughing, "Damn, that must suck!"

"That's what I said!" Kate replied, high fiving him.

"I hate you both so much," Bunny said, although she couldn't help but let a small smile through, the three joking and laughing as they made their way to the kids house who they were babysitting.
