we were at the beach. we could have walked but we didn't know the area.

turns out, from walking the beach is only a minute away. but in car it took like 30 seconds.

"i'm excited!" i said to jack. he had this weird smirk on his face, like a nervous but happy smile. i ignored it.

we finally got to the beach. i was wearing a sun dress. it was sunset and the weather was perfect.

"i love the beach, don't you?" i turned over to jack. he was on one knee, pulling something out of his pocket.

i furrowed my eyebrows for a second, but then i realized what he was doing my eyes widened. i had a downward smile when he pulled out the case for the ring.

"georgia lux barlowe," he started. i cringed at the full name. "the second i saw you on tv, i thought you were beautiful - and good at field hockey, of course. but mostly beautiful. and when i bumped into you at that hockey game, i knew i was lucky to meet you. that night i couldn't stop thinking about you. i didn't want to forget you, i mean, it's not like i could anyways, so i followed and messaged you. from that moment you followed me back, i knew you weren't going to be able to get rid of me. the games we played, our movie marathons, the months we spent together, all led up to this moment. at first i saw you on a screen, now i'm down on my knee - which is really hurting right now - proposing to you. so georgia, will you marry me?"

i had tears streaming down my face, nonstop.

"yes!" i cried. he put the ring on my finger, and we kissed and hugged.

so i never thought i'd be saying this, but i'm engaged!
