After Nairobi left V's she got called Ashtray later that night. "Assssshhhhhh." V groaned as Ashtray answered her facetime call. "What, Vienna?"

"Come over. We made cookies. You can pick the movie. Come on. Come over. You know you want to." "Where's Maddy." Ashtray sighed. "She went to the back to school party or whatever at McKay's."

"...Mhm, yeah, Rue dragged Fez off to that shit." "So... Come over?" "...Fine, be there in 20." Ashtray breathed before hanging up.

Ashtray never really had it in him to say the word "No" when it came to Vienna. She was his guilty pleasure. As he was hers.

V had a smile on her face a she rose from her bed and it a few incents. She was very in touch with her spiritual side. Ashtray found V odd for that reason.

"Dad, you remember Ash right?" V spoke as she walked downstairs and past her father to let Ashtray in.

"You mean the boy with the tattoos on his face? He better not be your boyfriend." "What no. He like totally 110% gay." V laughs it off as she opens her front door.

"Hey." "Sup." Ashtray spoke stepping inside. "Hey Mr Perez." Ashtray waved as V pushed him towards the stairs and up to her room. "Love you dad." "Mhm."

"Why do you have two book bags?" V spoke closing her door behind them before going to sit on her bed. "We have school tomorrow." Ashtray shrugged hopping onto V's bed.

"So where are these cookies I was promised?" "Right." V spoke putting her phone in her hoodie pocket and grabbing the plate of cookies off her nightstand as Ashtray made himself comfortable.

"So what's the plan for you Ash? Gonna join the football team and start dating a cheerleader?" V asked as she climbed into her bed next to his as she brought a cookie to her mouth.

"Please. Football is a game for tiny dick egotistical guys. And what do I look like letting some girl in my life and business. That's how shit gets messy." Ashtray spoke flipping through movies.

"But I'm a girl. Who is also in your life- and I know your business like it's my own." V spoke looking up at Ashtray. He was sat up against her headboard as V was laying down at his side.

She was right. Ash knew she was. And recently he has had the need to be around Vienna all the time.

"Me and Nairobi are gonna join the cheerleading team. And cheer for all the tiny dick egotistical guys on that field. Maddy taught us a few cheers over the summer so that way we'd be ready." V spoke her breathing becoming lighter as she snuggled under the covers and turned her focus towards the tv as Ashtray picked The Karate Kid.

"You'll make the team V." "I know, look who my sister is. If I don't she'll probably fight the coach. And you'll be the best popular loner out there." V yawned. "High school's full of people who are tryna get a quick high."

"Yeah but-" "At the same time if they get caught they won't hesitate to snitch." V's words caused Ashtray to turn his gaze towards her, V was already looking up at him though. "I told you I know your business like it's my own." V smiled up at him before nuzzling into her blankets.

V told Maddy all of her secrets. Well that was until she started hanging around Ashtray. If V told Maddy she would flip.

Because being around Ash meant that she was around drugs, and if she was around drugs then she was around drug dealers who don't play with their drug money and if something happened with their money they wouldn't hesitate to sex traffic her to make up that money.

V's dad was the only one who knew about her hanging out with him.

"I'll sneak out in the morning and just meet you there." Ashtray spoke as V began to drift into sleep as she got closer to him. "Goodnight Ash." "Goodnight Vienna."

Ashtray woke up the next morning with Vienna in his arms. Her hair spiraled out on her pillow behind her.

He thought the sight was beautiful, as he started upon her slightly parted lips.

Lips that he's had the urge to do touch with his own. But he couldn't. Because having Vienna wasn't his fate.

Or so he thought.

"Are you excited?" Maddy asked me from the driver's seat of her car. "Yeah, actually. Football season is gonna be fun." Smiled at her.

This morning Ash watched me run all around my room to get ready while he sat dressed in a gucci tracksuit on my bed.

He left a little after Maddy told me we were leaving in 20 minutes. "Who's this Tyler guy you hooked up with last night?" I press my sister for details.

"I only hooked up with him to make Nate jealous, but then I told him I blacked out when he texted me about it."

"Maddyyyy." I squealed. "That's the story ok. I blacked out." "You are such a bitch." I laugh. "But gaslight, gate keep, girlboss I guess."

"Whatever. Like you're not about to have all the freshmen and even sophomores wrapped around your finger." Maddy rolled her eyes playfully

"So are you guys back together? Or?" "We're working on it." Maddy spoke as we pulled into the school parking lot.

I wanted so badly to vent to her about whatever it is that I'm feeling for Ash. But I can't because then she'll be on me like a hawk to make sure I stay away from him.

"I'm gonna go find Nairobi. I'll see you later." I say climbing out of the car. "Love you." Maddy calls out as she stalks over toward Cassie. "Love you too."

Walking into the building I could feel eyes on me. Watching me as I walked down the hall. Some my age, some older.

It doesn't creep me out though, Maddy taught me to take pride in this shit. Let them look, because they'll never be able to touch. I had my schedule memorized two weeks before school started.

Along with my locker number and combo. Tips also from Maddy. Opening all my locker I shove all my shit inside.

"V ugh look at us. Why look basic when you can look stunning." Nairobi smiled, opening up the locker which was conveniently right next to mine.

"See any you like?" I smirk at her. "A few but this isn't about me right now this is-" Nairobi got cut off by obnoxious laughter.

Turning around me and Nairobi see a bunch of airheads surrounding Ash. "Looks like they're after your man." "He's not my man." I started closing my locker.

"Please, you can't hide shit from me. Just because he isn't doesn't mean you don't want him to be. Tell me what do you feel seeing all those girls over there flirting with Ash."

I let out a sigh before speaking. Nairobi can read me inside and out so there's no use in lying.

"Pity, because they're failing miserably. And While Ash may entertain it never goes anywhere. He doesn't let girls get close to him. He doesn't do relationships. And those airheads will only get in his way."

"He doesn't let any girl besides you get close to him. That's a sign from his subconscious. You know him just as well, maybe even better than Fez does. He might not admit it because he has to keep up the whole hard boy act but he trusts you. He doesn't let it be known because he doesn't want to get hurt. Has The Maddest Obsession taught you nothing."

I can't help but laugh a little because there is some truth behind her words.

"And what are you saying I do All Mighty Matchmaker?"

"Make him yours bitch. Show him you're serious. Show him he's safe and can be as vulnerable with you as you are with him. And if that doesn't work flaunt these things and he'll be begging for you. Boys can't refuse boobs." Nairobi laughs cupping my boobs.

"And all seriousness though I just want you to be happy. And if you're heart is saying that's with him then what kind of best friend would I be if I held you back from love. Just don't get your ass shot, I'll see you later. Love you." Nairobi says before walking off. "Love you too."

My eyes locked with Ash's as I walked past him and his groupies. The look in his eyes shifted as he looked at me. I do nothing but wink at him and keep walking. I'm not gonna go over there and play the jealous girlfriend. At least not yet.

All my classes went by pretty quick. All we did was introductions and going over rules. I batted my eyelashes at a couple boys who flirted with me through the day but I rarely paid them any mind.

My last class of the day was Bio and I had it with Ash. The was some girl who was all over him in the seat next to him, he looked annoyed though. I guess I could throw the dog a bone.

"Move." I say to the girl in the seat next to his as I approached them. "What- no. I was sitting here first." "Bitch did I stutter, I said move." I barked and this time she listened. She just up from the seat with a huff and sat next to some girl with glasses.

"Hey." "Sup." "I told you you'd be the popular loner out there. Look at all the play that pretty face is getting you." I tease. "It's fucking annoying." "All they want is a hot boyfriend so they can brag to other girls."

"Did you just call me hot?" Ash smirked at me. "It's not you need to be told, asshole." I roll my eyes with a smile.

"Ok class, I would like for you to introduce yourself to the person next to you. And speak of one thing you enjoyed doing over the summer. If you already know them I would like for you to pretend to be them for this activity. 5 minutes, go."

"Oh I wanna go first." I speak, deepening my voice. "Sup, my name is Ashtray. And all I really give a shit about is my money and my brother. And occasionally the beautiful bad ass Vieanna" Ash didn't look so amused by my impression but i'm in a fit of laughter which gets cut off by him doing me now.

"I'm Vieanna, but call me V, because only certain people in my life can call me by my real name. I enjoy hanging out with my friends and spending money that isn't mine. Also I'm like really obsessed with this one boy named-"

"Hahaha very funny but I do not sound like that." I rolled my eyes.

"What are you doing after tryouts?" He remembered. "I don't know, I'll probably just lay around all day, get high or something. Why?" "Nothing." Ash shrugged before turning to face the front of the class.
