Unknown to Y/n was the soldier behind her, limping his way to stab her. When he was about to kill her with the blood-splattered knife, a gunshot rang out, startling Y/n. When she turned around, she saw a dead soldier behind her.

She looked at who killed him and saw Xiaojia. The only family member left for Xiaoting.

Xiaojia marched towards the vampire, gun drawn at her. "You monster," she said, moving the spear across Y/n's cheeks. "Who are you? " She questioned.

"A monster," Y/n replied, echoing Xiaojia's initial impression.

"What did you do to Xiaoting?"

"I'm saving her, Xiaojia," the older girl huffed, removing the spear aimed at Y/n. "I always knew you were something," she said. "You only go out at night, you don't come to every meal, you climb up the trees really quickly, and I know... you and Shen Xiaoting are in love," she added.

"How?"

"I got my two eyes," she chuckled, looking around. She saw her younger siblings' bodies and sent them sympathetic glances. "Although we are not all blood relatives, I feel sad for them," she said, making Y/n shocked. That explains why she and Xiaoting never get along.

"What? You and Xiaoting-"

"No... not at all... I was Wang Xiaojia and will always be... I'm her cousin. When I was a toddler, my parents died, and Mr. Ju adopted me," she explained. She then turned to face Xiaoting's lifeless body. "Only Junlin is the true child of the family," she said, pointing to the two-year-old boy on the side. "But I thank them for looking after me and the others," she said as she returned her gaze to the house. "I will leave Shen Xiaoting to you now," she sighed, "but when we meet again, be sure to show her to me... alive and a vampire like you."

Xiaojia vanished after what happened to the family, as well as Y/n and Xiaoting. Xiaoting, on the other hand, awoke two days after her transition. She felt more alive after waking up. The rest of the family members were properly buried in the same ground where their house used to be, while Y/n and Xiaoting hid in Belgium, where they built their own home somewhere in the woods.

Along the way, the two met Xiaojia, who now runs a foster home. They lived in peace and decency. They established a fashion label in which they design and sell fashionable clothing. They were content to try new things until they reached their thirties and made a risky decision.

They desired to travel around the world. Even though the war ended years ago, vampire vacations are still dangerous. "Let's go to your birthplace," Xiaoting suggested to her wife. They have been married for over 15 years now. Although marriage does not apply to people of the same sex, they are considered married after living together for more than fifteen years.

"I'd like to know where you lived before and how you lived," Xiaoting said as she hugged the girl from behind. Y/n was sewing something but abruptly stopped when she heard what Xiaoting suggested.

Going back to Budapest is extremely difficult for her. The memories began to return, but only the happy ones. She does intend to take Xiaoting there and introduce her to her deceased relatives.

"However, if you are not comfortable with-"

"No, it's fine... let's finish this dress first before we plan, okay?"

She reassured the younger. Xiaoting nodded and returned to her seat, looking forward to the journey ahead of them.

They planned their trip for a week, deciding to visit Paris first before heading to Budapest. Xiaoting had always admired Paris, which she had seen on television numerous times. After their brief visit to the City of Love, they boarded a plane bound for Budapest in order to avoid suspicion from the locals.

When they arrived, they were greeted by a frantic atmosphere. Because no one seemed to mind them, Y/n dragged Xiaoting to the nearest train station. It was currently day time, they needed to wear clothing that covered their entire body.

Unbeknownst to them, some men on the far right side of the rain were staring at them. They weren't staring at them because they had bad intentions, but they did notice how they dressed.

When they arrived at the next station, Y/n grabbed Xiaoting's hands and pulled her somewhere where there was no sunlight shining on them. They then went to the forest path, where Y/n pointed out the way to her old house.

It took the older girl several hours to recognise her former residence. A demolished house with some clear burns stood in the deepest forest. Her smile had turned into a frown, which Xiaoting recognised right away. "Are you all right, love?" she asked. Y/n chuckled sadly before touching a piece of the house that had been left out.

"I'm home," she said quietly, a tear falling down her rosy cheeks. "Mother... Father... Sisters and Brothers..." she sobbed. Xiaoting was moved by her situation and came over to hug the girl who was kneeling on the ground. She gently rubbed her wife's shoulders to soothe her.

"We can turn back if you want," Xiaoting said. "No... I want them to meet you," Y/n said, wiping away a tear and resuming her smile. She stood up, straightened up, and hugged her wife back.

"Father, Mother, Sisters, Brothers... this is my wife, Shen Xiaoting," she said to the air. "I've met her along my journey, as well as her family... her good family," Xiaoting was in awe.

"If only I could show you how beautiful she is, you'd be as happy as I am... but I know you're all happy for me. I miss you... all of you..." Xiaoting noticed she was about to cry again and rubbed her back to calm her down. "I'm sure they miss you too, love," she said quietly, nodding to Y/n.

"Oh, and... mother... don't be mad at me, I turned her into a vampire. I'm aware that I can only do it once, and I chose her. I chose to spend the rest of my life with her," she said to Xiaoting, who was still speechless.

"I love her... so much," Y/n said, leaning in to kiss her wife when someone interrupted their moment.

"You came back," Y/n froze in place.

It wasn't her parents, no.

"Do you remember me, Y/n Kun?" it was the hunter who found their lair a few years ago. The same hunter also ordered his men to murder her family.

"Viktor," she said sternly. Of course, she recognised his name. He was once his father's best friend at work, but he turned traitor because he was jealous of Y/n's father's achievements.

"Ah, you remembered," he exclaimed, laughing maniacally. "Who is this young lady?" " He pointed at Xiaoting, which immediately made Y/n's eyes turn red. "Oh, look at yourself. She's probably your love," he sneered, causing Y/n to clench her fist. Xiaoting clutched her tightly as she noticed more men emerge from the bushes behind Viktor.

"You can't run away this time, Kun," without hesitation, she dragged Xiaoting to the cliff where she had jumped when she was younger, but as they got close, a flying steak shot right through the centre of Y/n's chest. They could both hear the men behind them cheering.

Y/n knelt to the ground, knowing she won't last much longer. "Y-Y/n... love... I'm-"

"Xiaoting... run," she said, letting go of her wife's hand. "I can't abandon you!" The men away from them laughed at Xiaoting's cries.

"You told me! You said you'd never abandon me! " Xiaoting remembered talking above the tallest tree they found. "You saved me once, and I will save you again!" Xiaoting bit her neck and attempted to do what Y/n had done to her a few years ago, but Y/n only pushed her shoulders. "It will not work, Xiaoting... your only option is to run... run away and never return here." Y/n's lips are turning pale; she doesn't have much time. "Always remember that I love you," she said as she stroked Xiaoting's cheeks. "I always have".

"I love you too... please don't leave me," Xiaoting pleaded, her skin burning as they stepped into the dim light.

"Hmm... I'll always be here... Until we meet again, my love," Y/n's hands fell into the ground, and her body began to be eaten by the earth. The men were also witnessing this and were taken aback by what was going on. When Vampires die, being eaten by the ground is extremely rare.

Xiaoting, on the other hand, listened to her wife's advice. With a broken heart, she ran away, jumping off the cliff, never looking back because Y/n is no longer there. Gone for good.

"You should've listened to me," Y/n's eyes fluttered open as the brightest room she'd seen her entire life greeted her. Everything was white... like it was daytime. She looked around and noticed her family standing near the white room's door.

"Mother, Father!

She jumped out of bed and hugged both of her parents tightly. "Amelia, Jonathan, Draco, and Elizabeth! " she exclaimed as her four younger siblings embraced her.

"What are you doing here, sister?" Amelia inquired. "She obviously died," Draco snorted humorously. "Right now, you should be with your wife!" Elizabeth exclaimed. Xiaoting. She left Xiaoting.

"Wait... how did you find out I have a wife?"

She asked them. Her mother pointed to the television across the room, where she saw Xiaoting crying in the dark. Her hands were clutching a photograph of her wife and the dress she had made before they left.

"Ah... she's really sad you died, daughter," her father said. "Honestly, I'd be the same if your mother died before me," he said.

"She truly loves you with all her heart," the mother said as she rubbed the shoulders of her older daughter. "We're glad you're here... but she needs you back there, Y/n," her mother said, puzzling Y/n.

"What exactly do you mean, mother?"

Her mother and father exchanged a gentle smile. "We'll help you get back in there."
