"WOOOO!" i yelled out as we all went into the air then back in the water.

me and lo'ak laughing at eachother funny faces each time we go into the water.

"YEAHH" lo'ak yelled after, bringing his fist up.

pov change

"keep up forest boys!" ao'nung said, looking back at lo'ak and (y/n).

as they all rose up from the water, stopping at the Three Brothers Rocks.

"WOO!" lo'ak yelled as he and his ilu rose from the water, (y/n) laughed as he shook the water off from his face.

"that was insane, cuz!" lo'ak yelled out to ao'nung, ao'nung smirked in response.

"this way," ao'nung said, looking at (y/n) and lo'ak moving his head in a direction. "i know a good spot!"

as they went under water, they hid behind a huge coral.

ao'nung then used sign language, 'call the fishes' he signed to (y/n) as he was holding the cross bow.

(y/n) nodded, swimming forward. he then began to try and use the calling sound. lo'ak then rolled his eyes and grabbed the cross bow from (y/n)'s grasp.

(y/n) only furrowed his non-existent eyebrows, watching lo'ak do exactly what he was doing.

in the background, you could see ao'nung and his friends swim away.

if you were to only focus on ao'nung, you can see regret flash through his eyes as he looked back at (y/n).

why am i worrying about that stupid freak? ao'nung thought, he shook his thoughts away and left the scene.

as lo'ak shot at the fish, he and (y/n) high-fived  then looked back hoping to ao'nung and the others. only to find nothing but water.

'where'd they go?'' lo'ak signed to (y/n), to which (y/n) shrugged to and began to sign back.

'i don't know, i was only focused on you.' (y/n) signed. they both began to swim up, caking their ilu.

"hey guys!" lo'ak yelled out, looking around.

"ao'nung!" y/n) yelled out, looking back. "come on, this isn't funny!" (y/n) continued.

underneath in the water....

a big akula, swimming through a herd of little fishes, seemingly to make its way to where (y/n) and lo'ak were.

"hey ao'nung!" lo'ak yelled, then they both suddenly flew into the air falling off their ilu in the process.

"lo'ak!" (y/n) yelled, trying to reach his hand out to grabs lo'ak's.

as they fell into the water, they watched as the akula went after both their ilu's. them both swimming away while making a scared calling sound.

the akula then turned around to face lo'ak and (y/n), them both swimming to the coral. lo'ak grabbed (y/n)'s to pull him in, any second after (y/n) probably would been leg less.

as the akula began trying to break the coral, lo'ak shot the cross bow into its mouth. making blood seep into the water.

the akula then chomped the cross bow into pieces, continuing to try and break the coral.
(y/n) and lo'ak press up against the small space there was.

lo'ak then looked behind him, and saw an opening. he tapped (y/n) on the shoulder quickly and signaled him to follow him.

they both swam through it right when the akula broke the coral, they both thinking the akula left but quickly swam down to another coral when they saw it swimming towards them.

they quickly swam through cracks of coral as they saw the akula easily breaking the coral, they went deeper into the coral where it was more sturdier than before.

as the akula couldn't break through it anymore, it "left". lo'ak and (y/n) both looked around to see any sign of the akula.

"mhg" (y/n) started to lose his breath, lo'ak doing the same. (y/n) hit lo'ak on the chest to signal for them to go up, they looked around one last time before swimming up.

as they were swimming up, lo'ak saw the akula once again. he signaled to (y/n), (y/n) then pulling out his knife. lo'ak doing the same.

as they were both about to stab the akula, a big creature came and hit the akula in the side.

they both tried to move out the way, (y/n) started to move slower and slower until he passed out. lo'ak grabbing onto (y/n) slowing passing out aswell.

"lo'ak, lo'ak wake up" a faint voice called out, it was (y/n). lo'ak slowly opened his eyes and got up.

"holy shit" lo'ak said as he realized what he and (y/n) were on, (y/n) went underwater to where the tulkans eyes were.

lo'ak following behind, both of the boys going above water with the tulkan doing the same.

"you are tulkan," lo'ak said, catching his breath. "you saved our life. thank you." he continued after.

lo'ak then signed a 'thank you' to the tulkan, it making clicking sound in response.

"buddy, we have no idea what you just said."
(y/n) called out to the tulkan.

the tulkan then made a bellowing noise, making lola turn his head to where a spear was imbedded into its fin.

"they hurt you, didn't they?" lo'ak asked, the tulkan bellowing as a response.

"we'll try and pull it out," (y/n) hit lo'ak's chest, "let's go." (y/n) continued.

as lo'ak was tugging the weapon up, he realized it wasn't going through. (y/n) went underwater to see that they can unscrew the bottom.

(y/n) then came back up from the water, telling lo'ak that he can pull it out now.

the tulkan then made happy clicking noises to show that he was happy and relieved, both lo'ak
and (y/n) smiled.

"friends?" (y/n) said as he clasped his hands together, lo'ak laughed as the tulkan's eyes winded and beamed.

"that's right we're friends!" lo'ak beamed out, the tulkan lowered the fin that (y/n and lo'ak we're on causing them to fall in the water.

the tulkan then raised its fin hovering it over both the boys, causing them to panic slightly.

"woah woah bro!" lo'ak yelled bringing his hands up, which did no change.  as they were both underwater, the tulkan then spinner around happily.

they all swam around, having fun while looking at the different things in the ocean.

lo'ak went to the other side of the tulkan, (y/n) following behind. both noticing the missing fin, lo'ak then signing a 'i'm sorry'.

after that, the three then continued to swim around. seeming to forget that they had somewhere to be.

back at the village

you could see jake and kiri sitting down together when suddenly neteyam came barging while holding ao'nung against his nape.

making jake and kiri turn their heads at the action.

"tel them what you told me!" neteyam said angrily, pushing ao'nung around.

ao'nung seemed to hesitate on wether to say it, but eventually he did.

"you like looking at star?" (y/n) asked the tulkan, lo'ak and him looking up at the starry night.

"you know my dad came from a star," lo'ak told the tulkan, "that one." he said pointing at a certain star.

in the faint background, you can hear some of the metikayina people make a calling sound.

lo'ak and (y/n) now realizing they were at the village. 

"go! we will see you again!" lo'ak signed quickly, not wanting the tulkan to get hurt.

as both lo'ak and (y/n) swam to where the village were, a metikayina saw then and mounted them on his ilu.

as they rode up to the dock, you can see many people surround the two boys.

lo'ak and (y/n) both thanked the person who rode them back, hopping onto the dock.

as they turned around, they saw ao'nung's family right there with him following behind. lo'ak, seeming mad, began to walk towards ao'nung.

jake stopping him quickly, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"hey," he said, sighing.

"let's take a look at you two." he said looking around lo'ak's and (y/n)'s body to see any signs of wounds or anything.

"they're fine, they're fine." jake said, turing yo inform tonowari and his family.

ao'nung looking relieved when he heard the news.

neytiri and neteyam came shortly after their arrival, neytiri hurriedly going up to (y/n) and lo'ak.

"i pray for my strength that i do not gauge the eyes out from my sons" neytiri said, bringing up her hand in-front of the boys faces to act out the gauging eyes out part.

"no, my son knows better than to take them outside the reef." tonowari said, looking at ao'nung.

grabbing the back of his neck, making him go on one knee.

"the blame is his." he said looking back at jake.

"okay," jake said sighing, "let's go." he said tapping (y/n)'s and lo'ak's arms.

"no, this is not ao'nung's fault." lo'ak said, shaking his head.

ao'nung's head who once hung low mow perked up at the sound of this.

"this was my idea," (y/n) spoke up after, not wanting lo'ak to get all the trouble.

"ao'nung and lo'ak tried to talk me out of it." he finished shortly.

"it is the truth." (y/n) said looking tonowari in his eyes.

jake sighed and hurried them both to follow him, to which they followed.

as they were a few feet away, lo'ak spoke up.

"dad you told us to make friends with these kids." he said to jake.

"it is all we were trying to do." (y/n) said after lo'ak.

"i don't want to hear it," jake said a little angrily.  "you both brought shame to this family." he finished after.

a look of hurt flashed through both lo'ak's and (y/n)'s eyes.

"can we go now?" lo'ak asked.

"any more trouble there'll be a knot if both of your guy's tails, do you read me?" he said sternly.

"yes sir." they both said in union, that made jake let them go freely.

(y/n) being the first one to walk away, lo'ak following shortly after.

"hey," a voice called out to lo'ak and (y/n), making them turn their heads.

it was ao'nung.

"why did you two speak for me?" he asked.

"because we know what it's like, to be one big disappointment." lo'ak said while walking away.

(y/n) stayed back with ao'nung, looking at him.

"why did you do it?" he asked, ao'nung looked away sheepishly.

"i..i don't know, but im sorry" ao'nung said, looking at (y/n).

"you are such a skxawng" (y/n) said, laughing breathlessly.

he then walked away, having ao'nung follow behind him as they both caught up to lo'ak.

so cute how neytiri thinks of (y/n) as her son 🥰

anywho, next chapter won't follow the movie because i feel as if i don't give (y/n) and ao'nung time together and it just don't feel like a reader x ao'nung yk
