Chapter 7: Another Fight

The next day Lee-Ah and Heeseung showed up together at school.

"Uhm whats wrong?"
Jungwon looked from the two back to Sunoo.

"So.....she really did leave me for Heeseung yesterday.."
Sunoo looked at Jungwon with a confused look.
Jungwon felt his stares and smiled a half smile.

"I'm okay hyung."
Sunoo nodded as Jungwon grabbed his bag and walked away whispering to himself.

"Goddammit Heeseung..."

-🌸-

LeeAh sat down in math class and glanced at Xiaoting who was laying her head on her desk.
He must've told her...

LeeAh took a closer look at her and she saw a tear stream down her face.
She badly wanted to comfort her friend but she knew it would hurt Xiaoting's pride by forgiving LeeAh so fast.

LeeAh was snapped out of her thoughts when Heeseung tapped on her should.

"The teacher picked you for our class representative."
LeeAh turned her head to look at the younger boy.

"For what?"

"Math war."

"What the hell is 'Math War'? And why am I in it?"
Heeseung gave her a look like she was stupid.

"Math war is what the teacher has been explaining for the past twenty minutes Noona. Maybe if you weren't staring at Xiaoting so intensely you'd know."
LeeAh scoffed and gave him a look that automatically made him shrink in his seat.

"Rude."

-🌸 -

LeeAh was walking to history when she saw Xiaoting squatting down and picking up books she dropped.

LeeAh immediately ran to her and helped her.
She could feel Xiaoting looking up at her, but she ignored it.
They both stood up and Xiaoting slightly bowed to her.

"Thanks.."

It's like they were strangers....things were not good.

LeeAh was walking outside and saw Jungwon on the bench reading.
The sun was shining on his hair making his jet black strands look like silk.
He looked so focused that he didn't seem to notice her.
(Or the other 12 girls staring at him.)

Wah, He's pretty.

LeeAh jogged up to him and waved her hand in front of his face making him look up at her.
"Oh, hi Noona."

"Hi Wonnie."
Jungwon's heart fluttered at the new nickname.

"No one's ever called me that before."
LeeAh smiled as she sat down next to him.

"Then that makes it more special."

"That's true."

"Whatcha reading?"
Jungwon looked at the book and sighed.

"I'm studying for my drivers test. My grandma's uh.....sick..so she isn't really allowed to drive anymore. BUT THE BOOK IS SO DUMB AND LONG."

"I got my licenses last year....hey, how much do you know about driving?"

"Well I knew a lot before I read this, and now I'm pretty sure I could be a professional driver."

"If I let you drive us to the convenience store after school, do you promise to not wreck my car."
Jungwon's eyes lit up immediately.
LeeAh put out her pinki finger and they made a pinki promise.

"Promise!"

-🌸 -

"You're actually not a bad driver."

"I know."
Jungwon smirked at LeeAh who rolled her eyes playfully.

"Convenience store noodles is the best."
LeeAh nodded in agreement as Jungwon picked up his phone, which was ringing.

"Hello?"

"Halmeoni, it's only three o'clock . . . No I'm not with him I'm with LeeAh . . . you met her last week . . . Okay Halmeoni . . . I love you too, bye."

Jungwon shook his head and looked up at LeeAh.

"Hey, can I tell you something I don't think I've told anyone before?"
LeeAh put down her chopsticks and nodded as Jungwon let out a shaky sigh.

"My grandma.....was diagnosed with Alzheimer's last month....she dosen't even remember my mom that well...just now she thought school ended at eleven in the afternoon and that I was hanging out with this a guy MinWoo who happens to be what.....a gang leader? I don't even know.......She even forgot my birthday was today-"
Jungwon's voice cracked and a tear streamed down his face.
LeeAh got her chair and hugged him.

"hey it's okay Wonnie....."

Jungwon wiped his eyes when LeeAh broke the hug.

"Well, you said It's your birthday right?!"
Jungwon nodded as LeeAh smiled.

"Then, let's go celebrate it!"
LeeAh grabbed his hand and ran to the car.

-🌸 -

By the time they finished the cake and the trip to Han river, Jungwon was back in good spirits.

"Should we go to the amusement park?"
Before Jungwon could say yes LeeAh's phone rang.

"Hello . . . But- . . . Okay, fine . . . bye."

"Uh, Heeseung wants me to go to Jay's party.... do you want me to drop you off at home?"
Jungwon was disappointed that Heeseung had ruined things again, but he shook his head.

"No it's okay I'll come!"
LeeAh nodded and made a U-turn.

-🌸 -

"Oh my god that's a lot of people."

LeeAh and Jungwon were standing at the door.

"I know right."
Heeseung saw LeeAh and waved his hand signaling for her to go over there.

"Hi!"
Heeseung wrapped his arm around her shoulder and smiled.

"Hey."
Heeseung saw Jungwon and cocked his head to the side.

"You brought a guest?"

"Oh! Yeah, we were at Han river."
Heeseung looked Jungwon up and down and nodded.

"Nice."

"What's the look for?"
Heeseung dropped his arm around LeeAh.
Jungwon did a sarcastic laugh and stared him in the eye.

"You looked me up and down."
Jungwon took four steps closer to Heeseung so they were about six inches from touches noses.

"Why? You jealous?"

"I'm not."

"Yeah, sure."

Jungwon saw LeeAh's panicky eyes but before he could say anything, Heeseung lost it.

"What the hell is your problem?!"

"My problem?! My problem is that your in my personal bubble yelling at me about your stupid relationship."
Heeseung scoffed and leaned in closer to Jungwon so that he could whisper in his ear.

"It's only stupid to you because you want her."
As Heeseung was about to walk away Jungwon grabbed his wrist and punched him.

"YAH! YANG JUNGWON!!"
