"It's perfect."

Robin's POV:

"Hey, what time are you gonna be home?" I asked into the speaker of my phone.

"Hmmmm probably like three hours, maybe four." they answered.

"Ok! Don't eat before your home, I'm cooking dinner." I responded.

"Robin Arrellano cooking dinner!?" they asked in disbelief.

"Yep. I'll try not to start a fire in the kitchen....again" I promised.

"Well class is about to start so I better hang up. See you tonight!" they told me.

"See you then. Bye." I said before hanging up. I immediately went back into the call app and dialed a new number.

"Hey Vance. Is Bruce there?" I asked.

"Yeah just a second." he replied. There was a muffling sound of someone walking before I heard Vance say "Hey baby, Robins on the phone, he wants to talk to you."

I heard Bruce thank him before picking up the phone.

"Hey Robin! What's up!" Bruce said excitedly.

"Hey B, what're you doing right now?"

"Not much, Billy, Griffin Vance and I were just watching tv."

"Wanna come help me cook dinner?" I said hopefully.

"We'll be there in 5 minutes." he said before hanging up. I was surprised at how easily he agreed. I figured I should go into the kitchen and pick out the ingredients I would need to make pasta. As I was setting the flour on top of the counter, someone knocked on the front door.

I stood up and walked over to the door, and opened it. I was greeted with the faces of Billy, Griffin, Vance and Bruce.

"Hey everyone." I said cheerfully.

"Hey Robin."  Bruce greeted.

"Come in guys." I said ushering them in.

"So I heard you need help cooking." Griffin said to me.

"Yeah...I'm not the best cook ever." I admitted.

"That's the understatement of the year. Your kitchen literally caught on fire because you tried to make chicken nuggets. I had to go over and help you put it out." Vance laughed.

"It's not my fault! The box on the chicken nuggets was really hard to read. I thought it said 140  minutes, not 14!" I defended myself.

"Anyways, what are you cooking tonight?" Bruce asked me while laughing.

"Pasta. I'm trying to make it for dinner tonight but I suck at cooking. I knew Bruce and Griffin are both good cooks so I called you for help." I told them.

"I love making pasta! Let's start!" Griffin exclaimed.

*time skip*

"Are you guys done yet." Vance asked the boys cooking. Griffin, Bruce and Robin were all in the kitchen cooking, while Vance and Billy were just sitting at the island watching them cook while eating popcorn.

"Yes we are. No thanks to you guys at all though." Bruce said jokingly.

"What time is it Vance?" I asked.

"It's 5:45." Vance answered after checking his phone. Panic immediately shot through me when I learned the time.

"Oh shoot I have to get ready!" I exclaimed.

"Get ready for what? Aren't you just having dinner?" Griffin asked confused.

"Oh um right! I'm just getting ready because I want to go out after we eat dinner." I said hesitantly. Everyone looked confused except for Billy, who knows what's happening tonight because I needed to tell somebody. I'm not very good at keeping secrets.

"Well thanks for helping me guys!" I said trying to give them the hint to leave.

"Well have fun at dinner tonight! See you tomorrow in class." Billy spoke, taking the hint I wanted them to leave.

"Bye guys!" I said while ushering them out. I waited until they were all done piling out the door before running as fast as I could to the bathroom. I needed to get ready, and look extra nice tonight.

******

It's perfect. Everything's set up perfectly. The dinner is served in the fancy china and looks delicious thanks to Griffin and Bruce, and I just showered and put on a nice outfit. There's candles and flowers set up all around the table, and it all looks very fancy. Now all I have to do is wait.

I was sitting at the kitchen table, scrolling through my phone when I heard someone open the door.

"Robin?" a voice called through the dorm.

"In the kitchen!" I yelled back. I heard someone start walking through the dorm and I ran to get into position.

"Did you burn the house down making din- Robin? What are you doing. Why are you on your knee?" the person asked me.

"Finney Thomas Blake." I responded smiling. "Ever since that first day I met you in the second grade, when everyone was laughing at me, but you were kind and wanted to be my friend, I have been completely in love with you. I know we're still young, and people think we should take our time and see where things go, but there's nobody else I'd rather be with. That day in the hospital, after I thought you weren't going to wake up, I was completely ruined. I didn't want to live a life that doesn't have you in it. But when a miracle happened and you woke up, I knew that it was our second chance, to finally admit our feelings and get together. And to never break up." I paused my speech, deep in thought. At this point both Finney and I were crying, and it gave me flashbacks to the hospital.

*flashback

I glanced up at the clock on the wall. 30 more minutes until it was over. Finney would be unplugged then.

"I love you Finney. I know you can hear me right now. I just know it. And I want you to know how much I love you." Gwen said to unconscious Finney. She was holding his hand in her hands as she spoke. "I want you to know that I'll never forget you. There will never be a day that goes by and I don't think of you and all the great times we had. You were my big brother but also my favorite person, and that will never change. Take care of Mom for me. I love you." She sobbed. After a minute she gently let his hand fall back on the bed. She gave Finney a hug, then a kiss on the cheek before turning to Vance and I.

She wiped a tear off her face while motioning for Vance and I to go over to him. We both stood from our chairs and walked towards the bed Finney was in.

"Hey kid." Vance started. "There weren't many people in my life I liked, but I guess you were one of them. You were a nice person, even to people that don't deserve it and I won't ever forget that. You taught me a lot of lessons and have made me into a better person than I was before I met you. I hope heaven treats you well. Rest easy." Vance bid goodbye. Vance and Gwen turned to me, waiting for me to say goodbye, but I just couldn't.

"Do you want us to give you some privacy so you can speak to him alone?" Gwen asked while putting her hand on my shoulder.

"That would be great, thank you." I thanked her with a sad tone in my voice. Everybody quietly left the room, and closed the door, leaving just Finney and I in the room. I walked over and sat down in the chair by Finney's bed.

"Hey Finn. I know you're in there. I know you can wake up. I need you to wake up. I've been trying to keep myself together for Gwen but if you don't wake up I don't think i'll be able to do it anymore." I started to sob. "I love you so much and I wish so badly I got to tell you that before all of this happened but I didn't and now I regret it. I regret it so much. I swear to you, if you wake up i'll tell you that as soon as you open your eyes." I paused my speech so that I could let out a  sob I was holding in. I tried my best to stop crying, and after a minute I finally stopped. I reached for his hands before I continued my speech. "I love you. Just wake up so I can tell you that." I cried. I put my head in my hands when I started to cry again.

All of a sudden all of the moniters he was hooked up to started beeping. I didn't know what was happening until Finney's eyes shot open and he launched himself into a sitting position. He was awake. Finney was awake.

"Finney!" I yelled in disbelief while desperately wiping the tears off my face.

"Hey Robin." Finney said weakly while smiling at me

"I can't believe it! I thought you were dead!" I shouted. "OH! My promise! Finney I need to tell you something." I paused for a quick second but not long enough for him to respond. "I love you. Not in a friend way but in a romantic way. I love you. I've loved you ever since grade two, on the first day I met you. I have known for a long time but I was too scared to tell you. But you just woke up from a freaking coma so I don't think it matters how scared I am." I said very fast. I paused my rant to catch my breath.

"I love you too." Finney said with the biggest smile ever.

"You-you what?" I said shocked.

"I said I love you too. But do you think we could talk more about this later because I'm pretty sure a doctor should come and check me out so that I don't like- go into a coma again."  he joked.

*flashback ends*

Robin's POV:

"Robin."  Finney's voice took me out of my trance. "Stand up."

He was smiling as he said this so I couldn't tell if this was a good thing or a bad thing. I slowly stood from one knee until I was standing right in front of Finney.

"Of course I'll marry you." he answered.

"You will?" I asked confused. Deep down I knew he was going to say yes, but I had worried so much about this that I convinced myself he was going to say no.

"Of course. I always knew we were going to marry each other, I just knew we had to wait until it was the right time. And now it is." he said while wiping a happy tear off my face. I took the ring I was holding and slid it on his finger.

A wave of happiness crashed over me when the realization hit me that Finney and I were getting married.

"How did you even plan all of this?" Finney asked me while looking at the table with dinner on it.

"Well I've been planning this for a while, but the ring took forever to be ready to pick up, so I planned it around the day the jeweler said it would be ready. Which was today. So I picked up the ring before getting coffee from the coffee shop and then ran across the street to get the flowers from the flower shop. And Griffin and Bruce helped me cook the pasta. Although only Billy knew about me proposing." I explained.

"I love it." Finney said before putting his hands on my face and kissing me.

a/n: sorry it's been literally forever! I was super busy with school and stuff and I didn't have the time to write this chapter until school was out for March break. I made this the longest chapter yet because of how long its been. Also it's kinda really cringey because I couldn't figure out how to make it not cringey.
