"It's Finney. He's-he's really hurt."

tw for if you don't like blood or injury stuff like that

Robin's POV:

"ROBIN THE PHONE IS FOR YOU!" my mom screamed with a heavy accent. I walked down the hallway and out to the kitchen to see who was calling.

"Hello?" I asked into the phone.

"Robin!" Gwen said panicked.

"What's wrong Gwen? Are you ok?" I asked worriedly.

"It's Finney. He's-he's really hurt." she said with a shaky voice.

"I'm on my way." I said immediately. I rushed downstairs putting on my shoes before telling my mom I was going out. I ran to my uncle's car that he let me borrow and I started driving.

I sped all the way to Finney's house. When I got to his house, I rushed out of the car and saw his dad's car wasn't there. He was probably at work. I ran into the house without even knocking.

"Gwen?" I called out into the house. I looked around in horror as I saw the house destroyed. There was broken glass everywhere and it looked as though someone had trashed the house.

"In the living room!" she yelled from a distant room. I ran into the living room and when I saw Gwen there my heart dropped.

She was sitting on the floor cradling Finney to her, while he looked like he was dead. His face was beaten in, you could barely even tell it was him and his face was a pale lifeless colour.

I ran over to the two of them and tried to calm Gwen down. "Gwen listen to me. I need you to go to the phone and call 911. Tell them we need an ambulance asap." I said while wiping the tears off her face.

"O-okay." she stuttered. She stood up with trembling legs but she still managed to run to the phone. I turned my body towards Finney and tried to assess the wound. His face was gushing out blood, and he looked as though he was about to die from blood loss. I took off my belt and shirt, and pressed the shirt on the wound. I then fastened the belt over the shirt and around his head to hold it in place.

"Hello 911?" I heard Gwen say from the kitchen. That is where the house phone is hung on the wall.

"I need an ambulance for my brother. He was beaten up, badly. He's lost a lot of blood and he's been unconscious for about 15 minutes now. It's really bad." she said between her crying.

I made sure the bleeding on his face had stopped before moving down to his chest. It was completely bruised and throbbing. I didn't know how to help that besides taking off his shirt and making sure nothing was putting pressure on his stomach/chest.

"THE AMBULANCE IS HERE!" Gwen said from behind the curtain of the living room window. There was a knock on the door, and Gwen ran to answer it.

"My brother's in here, he really needs your help!" she said before entering the room with a bunch of adults from the ambulance. They took Finney from my hold and I shot up to grab my car keys.

"Gwen. When they take him in the ambulance, we'll go get in my truck and follow them to the hospital, ok?" I told her while wiping the fresh tears off her face. She responded by nodding her head softly.

When the people took Finney out to the ambulance, Gwen and I climbed into my uncle's car. "Can you tell me what happened? Who did this to him?" I said without taking my eyes off the road.

Gwen sighed heavily and then was silent for a moment. "My mom killed herself two years ago. It was really hard on all of us but we all cope differently. For my dad, he copes with drinking." she paused for a second, squeezing her eyes shut as a single tear drop rolled down her face.

"Before my mom died, he had one drink a week. After she died, it turned into 7 a day. When he drinks, he gets mean. He says terrible things and does terrible stuff. It always gets worse and worse though. So today when Finney was out with you and your friends, I came home from Suzie's house and my dad was drunk. But it was different this time. He had trashed the whole house, he had smashed everything he saw. Then he saw me. He ran at me with a beer bottle ready to smash it on my head, but I got to Finney's room before that could happen. I hid in Finney's closet and called Finney over and over, but he wouldn't answer. I was so scared. But eventually he did answer, and he came home. He heard what Dad did and got mad. He picked a fight with Dad for the first time ever, but it didn't end how Finney wanted it to. After Dad was finally finished with him, he took his car keys and just left." she said in one breath.

My knuckles turned white from gripping the steering wheel so hard. I tried not to react while I was driving, but I was enraged on the inside. Who does this to their children? Let alone two of the sweetest people ever.

Gwen started to sob so hard she was about to chock on her own tears. I couldn't help but let a tear fall as I leaned over and pulled her into my side, latching her arms around me for a hug. A hug that I can tell she definitely deserved.

a/n sorry the hospital part isn't in this one, it will be in the next, i just couldn't fit both in the same chapter.
