"Are you gay?"

a/n why am i half tempted to delete this story, then delete this account, ghost everyone in my life and then pull a hannah baker.....

Robin's POV:

Somehow we managed to cram all of us into Vance's 5 seater van and make it to the diner without killing each other.

"May I please get the waffles with extra syrup and whipped cream?" Finney asked the waiter politely.

"Yup! And for you?" the waiter asked me.

"Ummmmmmmmm," I stuttered, struggling to read the menu. I looked up from the menu to see everyone looking at me waiting for me to order, but I couldn't manage to read the menu right. I looked over at Finney with a desperate look in my eye.

"He'll just get the same as me but without the whipped cream please." Finney said saving me from any more embarrassment. Everyone said thank you to the waiter and the waiter smiled at us before walking away.

"Thanks Finn. That menu was super hard to read!" I admitted before drinking a mouthful of my milkshake.

"Soooo hows you guys heads today? Because mine feels like a bomb is constantly going off in it." Billy joked.

"How much of last night do you even remember?" Gwen teased.

"Enough to know I am a very bold drunk." Billy sighed while running his hand down his face.

"So when is your date with Griffy?" Bruce joked, not expecting a reply.

"Saturday." Billy replied nonchalantly which made Griffin turn a deep shade of pink.

"Suddenly my nails are super interesting!" Griffin said while pretending to be intrigued by his fingernails.

"I'm happy for you guys! I wish my crush would ask me out." Donna mumbled, glancing at Finney.

That made me angry, so angry that I couldn't hold back from saying, "Well maybe they don't like you back."

The others were staring at me trying not to laugh, while Finney, and Donna looked confused.

"Pardon?" Donna asked me.

"All I'm saying is he doesn't seem that interested." I shrugged before taking a sip of my milkshake.

"Who?" Finney asked scrunching up his nose in confusion. I smiled at that before breaking out of my trance and turning back to Donna.

"Ummm Finney can we talk in private?" Donna asked shyly.

"Uh sure Donna!" Finney said even more confused. Everyone watched as they got up and walked to the diner's bar.

We made sure they weren't looking before running and hiding behind one of the chairs at the bar. It was hard to hear them over the radio but I could make out some parts of the conversation.

"Finney there's been something I've wanted to tell you. And before you say anything, I want you to know that I know you don't feel the same and I'm not upset at you for it." Donna reassured.

"What is it?" Finney asked making his adorable worried face.

"I....like you. Like I like you...romantically. I know you don't feel the same and I'm okay with that I just wanted to let you know before you heard it from someone else. I also know you like him, I can see it in the way you look at each other. I hope you will still be my friend after this but I can understand if you don't want to be." Donna rushed out.

There was a minute of complete silence before Finney sighed and dropped his head.

"Donna, I think you're lovely." Finney said, breaking my heart before he added the "but, I don't like you that way. I'm really sorry. I would love to be your friend if you still want me to be. But I like someone else, and I think you know who."

"Ok, I understand but can I ask you something?" Donna asked

"Of course Donna."

"Does that mean you're gay? Or like bisexual maybe?" she said after a minute.

My heart started to race. Right here right now, I decided if he said no, I would make myself get over him. I couldn't let myself fall further and further for someone who doesn't even like me back. I was fully prepared for him to say no,

But when he slowly dropped his head again and shook his head yes, I felt victorious. Relief flooded through me and I immediately started punching the air in triumph. That is, until I hit the bar stool and knocked it over, revealing our hiding spot.

"Ummmmmm," Griffin said before getting up and bolting back to our table. It was horrifying, Finney was standing there mortified, looking at us all in shock.

"Finney don't get mad." I started to say before I was cut off with him running back to the table too.
