Wild Dog 35

Ravi felt his tail thump rhythmically on the bed beneath the covers as he began to come around. Someone was scratching behind his right ear in the perfect spot. He stretched and grunted, flaring his nose to take in a few unfamiliar, faint scents, then the most important, familiar one.

Master Trever...

Looking up slowly, Ravi blinked open one eye and gave a content huff.

"Good morning, bud," Trever said with a grin as he switched to gently petting Ravi's dog's head.

He was a tiny bit miffed that it had shifted while he'd been asleep, but he couldn't blame it. After all, before meeting Trever, he'd refused to be in his human form for more than a few minutes every few weeks. Now, his dog was the one that was being pushed into the background.

I'm sorry, dog. I was being greedy.

His dog snorted again and scooted more onto Trever's chest as the man continued to pet it. Ravi watched through its bright caramel eyes as it got not-just attention, but cuddles, snuggles, and even a light kiss to its nose.

I... I want that attention.

Of course, he could feel it all through his dog, but for the first time in his life, he felt like he wasn't his dog. Right at that moment, it felt like they were two completely different entities.

I'm not happy.

"Vivi?"

Ravi paused his internal musings at the sound of the odd name, and it seemed to surprise his dog, too, because it finally let him have control back.

"Do you like that nickname? I wasn't really sure what to call you since Wyatt seems to already use Ravioli... and I don't really want to share a nickname," Trever said with a hesitant smile on his face.

Master Trever can call me whatever he likes. I don't mind Vivi.

"I'm glad. We should get up," Trever said, even as he stretched out more beneath Ravi's dog, making his previously-stilled tail begin to swish back and forth.

Ravi was a bit distracted to really react to his words, too. He wasn't sure why, but while he could see Trever's dog staring at him through his eyes, the silver dog seemed reasonably okay with him being pinned down by another dog.

"It takes him a while longer to really wake up in the morning, so he won't be too upset... for now," Trever said, making Ravi tilt his head curiously.

The man was reading his mind quite a lot recently.

Master Trever, may I lie on you like this in my human form? Ravi asked abruptly.

He probably shouldn't have requested such a blatantly dominant thing, but he wanted to do it, so he asked. It was better than not asking and trying to do it, which he disagreed with in terms of nearly everything.

The only thing he'd never really asked permission to do when it came to other people was leaving his last master.

He got a bit lost in his thoughts before he realized it and gave himself a little mental shake. By that time, he noticed that Trever's face had turned a little pink.

Cute...

Since he hadn't gotten a verbal answer about pinning the man down in his human form, Ravi disregarded the question... but now he wanted to lick that face.

Trever pursed his lips and his face reddened further as he glanced away for a moment, then looked back at Ravi.

"Y-you can... do that."

Ravi nearly jumped him at that moment, but then he hesitated and lowered his ears a bit and gave a quiet grumble as he pawed at his nose.

"What's wrong?" Trever asked as he reached up to nervously set a hand on Ravi's fuzzy head.

Ravi twitched his nose and flopped his head down on the man's chest with a huff.

I want to lick master Trever in my human form.

The guy's hand paused abruptly atop his head.

"That... probably isn't a good idea," Trever eventually said, surprising Ravi a bit.

He perked up the slightest amount, flicking his ears and tilting his head. Yes, Trever had said that it probably wasn't a good idea, but he hadn't outright said no

Ravi quickly tamped down his growing excitement and calmed his dog enough to roll off of Trever... and right onto the floor!

He yipped, startled from the sudden fall, but quickly bounced up and shook out his coat as if it had all been planned. The bed was a bit smaller than the ones they'd had at the hotels they'd stayed at, so he'd been taken by surprise and fell off.

Trever sat up, trying to stifle a laugh as he moved his legs over the edge and reached down to pat Ravi's head.

"Sorry, I shouldn't laugh," he said as he got up and stretched his arms over his head.

"This full sized bed was fine for me when I was here alone, but I guess I should ask him for a bigger one now," he noted with a sleepy smile.

It's okay, I like the smaller one, Ravi replied immediately.

It had allowed him to cuddle with Trever all night long. He really liked the small bed. Evidently, however, the man hadn't seemed to hear his last thought.

"Do you want to shower? I'm probably just going to rinse off real quick," Trever said, earning a shake of Ravi's head in response.

He didn't really want to shower... unless he could come in with master Trever, but he wasn't about to simply ask that. Their connection seemed to have faded, anyways, so he simply lied down next to the bed to wait.

"Alright, I'll be just a minute," Trever said before disappearing into the bathroom.

Ravi watched him go and silently noted that he had left the door open... again. His dog saw it as an invitation to join him, but his human mind understood that it was simply him being given more trust. He left the door open because he trusted him not to go inside and it probably helped it not get so muggy inside the small room from the steam of the shower.

Thankfully, Trever didn't waste time and walked out in a towel about eight minutes later after having brushed his teeth and combed and styled his hair.

"Are you going to stay in your dog form today?" he asked as he tugged on a pair of boxers beneath his towel, then let it fall to the floor as he pulled out a pair of pants from his suitcase and pulled them on, too.

Ravi watched without hesitation since the man had intentionally walked out in front of him with only a towel on, then dropped it after putting on only one layer of clothing. If he hadn't wanted him to look, he would have brought his clothing into the bathroom.

When the man looked back at him after pulling on a shirt, Ravi licked his nose and nodded. His dog was allowing him to move it like normal again, but he doubted that it would be happy giving up its freedom just yet. It wasn't used to sharing with its human form.

"Alright," Trever said with a smile as he finished buttoning his shirt and put on a dark blue suit-jacket.

Ravi sat up at that moment, expecting to hear that they were going to head out now, but instead of leaving right away, the man before him turned in a circle once, then smiled at him a little nervously.

"Do I look okay?"

Did he look okay? Master Trever was asking him if he looked okay? Ravi had a slight bout of mental panic as he tried to figure out why the man would ever ask him, a literal dog, if he looked alright, but he quickly stuffed his blossoming anxiety back into his heart before it could show on his fuzzy face. Then, he nodded, several times, repeatedly, until he heard Trever burst into a quiet fit of laughter.

"Alright, alright. I get it, I look great," he said with a faint blush to his cheeks as he quickly packed a small bag with spare clothing, then gestured for Ravi to follow him.

He didn't mind being the cause of his master's laughter, and he really liked that because of his agreement, he had made the man so happy.

They headed out of their new, temporary apartment in search of somewhere to eat. In all honesty, the place where Trever was working wasn't too far a distance, so they'd decided to just walk most days in order to get some exercise and, hopefully, burn off some Ravi energy.

Thier new place was actually pretty big, even though it was only a two bedroom apartment. They had played tug with a toy they'd picked up from the store on their way home the previous evening, then rested in bed until they fell asleep. Or really, until he fell asleep.

Master Trever had been studying the notes Ravi had gotten for him from the copying room earlier that day, and while there were two bedrooms in their apartment, he'd allowed him to snuggle up against him without a single reprimand when he'd caught him staring at the second room nervously. In fact, he'd even walked up to him and taken his hand to tug him the other way.

He'd eventually fallen asleep on the man's arm, but when he'd awoken he had somehow wound up snuggled right up against, and slightly on, Trever's chest.

The memory gave him a burst of energy that sent Ravi zooming around the little park they were currently passing. He ended up chasing a few innocent birds and one terrified squirrel up a tree before finally returning to a chuckling Trever.

"Behave, bud," he said with a tone that wasn't serious enough to make Ravi question his actions. He basically just took it as don't eat what you catch.

"I think I'd prefer it to be perceived as don't catch, in general," Trever said as he gave Ravi's head a pat as his dog finally returned to walking beside him, panting quietly.

They ended up stopping at a bagel shop and ordered six for the day, along with some smoked salmon, cream cheese, and a huge twisted glazed donut for Ravi to have later as a treat. Much later.

They arrived with their meal still sealed away in a large paper bag, and it took a lot of patience to stay away from the delicious-smelling item, but Ravi managed. He even got through the door without a problem since he stayed right up against Trever's side the whole time.

They stopped by Mr. Spencer's office first. The man was momentarily out, but the receptionist from the day before, who refused to take her eyes off of Ravi enough to make him scoot behind Trever, said that he would be back shortly.

So, while they waited Trever pulled apart one of the warm cinnamon raisin bagels and fed Ravi piece by piece. He didn't want to make a mess in the man's office, so there would be nothing extra until they went to their own working space, but that was totally fine with him.

After about ten minutes Mr. Spencer ran in, huffing and puffing as if he'd just run a marathon. He was also sweaty, again, making Ravi's sensitive nose wrinkle.

Having finished off the bagel between them, though Ravi had gotten the majority of it, Trever tucked their paper bag away and got down to business. He took out the stack of papers from the previous day and set them on the desk. He'd evidently marked them quite a bit while Ravi had slept last night.

I wonder how long he stayed up.

Ravi allowed his mind to wander a bit as he went over what they would do once they got back to the apartment. He wanted to take care of his master, but his skills were still lacking... quite a bit.

Looking down at his paws as he sat in the seat beside Trever, Ravi licked his muzzle, then began to chew on nothing.

I need to learn how to be a better d— human.

He had already been told, many times, that he was a good dog, but he'd never been told that he was a good person. Mainly, most likely, because he rarely ever allowed his human form out, and when he did, it was jittery, stressed, and just all-around uncomfortable to be around.

You have been behaving very well in your human form. I'm not catching most of your thoughts, but don't doubt yourself, Vivi. You are a good dog, and you are a very good person.

Ravi felt his heart skip a beat in his fuzzy chest as he looked over at Trever at the same time his master glanced at him with a quick grin before returning his attention to the man across from them.

He wanted to ask exactly what Trever wanted him to be, but two things held him back from inquiring. One, he didn't want to interrupt his master's work. And two, he didn't want the man to think that he was stuck with him. He knew that he was a lot of work. It didn't need to be spelled out for him, but he wanted to be worth enough to someone to want to keep him around and let him be part of their life.

He thought he'd had that kind of situation before, because his previous master had never thrown him away, technically, but he had left him outside to freeze and had been starved for both food and attention.

His mind wandered again as he went over all sorts of different things he'd seen other people do for each other. They bought flowers, food, gifts... bought bought bought. Buy buy buy. He understood kissing and general affection, but Trever didn't like those things... no matter how much Ravi wanted to shower him with them.

I haven't even kissed much, anyways.

Who was to say that he was any good at it, anyways. He'd honestly hated it when his previous master had wanted to kiss his human form, let alone touch it.

Heaving a silent sigh, Ravi let his shoulders sag before curling up into a stressed ball on the padded chair.

I should just lick my butt and not think for a while.

It was the only thing that could immediately stop his thoughts from going crazy, but he'd tried really hard to stop doing it since his old master had hit him for it.

You're a dog, sweetheart, I'm not going to be mad if you act like one. Just brush your teeth and wash your mouth out later if you decide to clean yourself, please.

Ravi looked up with wide, slightly-watery eyes as he set his chin on the armrest to stare at his master. The man's familiar hand settled atop his head and gently rubbed at the fur there as he continued to talk business with the other man for a few more moments before finally reaching over with his free hand to shake Mr. Spencer's.

"That's all the questions I have about the papers, and I'd like to request one thing before we head over to check out your employees," Trever said, earning a hurried nod from Mr. Spencer.

"Of course, what can I do for you?" he asked as Ravi slipped from his chair to stretch.

"I want your write up forms. Judging from the paperwork we just went over, several employees are overdo to be reprimanded for poor performance. I would rather fire them outright, but I know there are rules to follow," Trever said, making Mr. Spencer somehow, sweat much more.

Ravi could sense Trever's growing frustration within their intermittent bond, making him hesitantly tuck his tail, yet wag it at the same time. He knew that he wasn't mad at him, but the emotion was the emotion, and he was used to it always being him that had his old master's ire, so he simply reacted to it automatically.

Mr. Spencer seemed to realize that he was already making a mistake with the man he hired, twice, to fix his company's issues, and quickly produced a stack of paperwork and two pens.

"Here you are. Do whatever you think is necessary," he said with a grimy smile that had Ravi questioning what was cleaner; his own butthole, or the man's mouth.

Your butthole, I'm pretty sure, Trever replied as he gave the other man his own fake smile and picked up the papers and tucked the pens in his jacket pocket.

"Thank you, I'll send you an email at the end of the day with what I did and why, as per usual," he said before dismissing himself.

Ravi, of course, followed immediately after picking up their bag of bagels, flicking his tail and holding his head high as he practically pranced out of the office.

My master is a bad ass.

He heard the man chuckle as they headed past the original receptionist desk, then down a separate hall. When Trever opened a door to another room Ravi was a bit surprised.

This office actually looks almost nicer than the boss man's.

"He likes spoiling people, but he doesn't know how to put his foot down. I told him everything he needed to do to in order to keep this company going well last time I was here, but it just tanked again since he wouldn't implement what I'd worked on," his master said as he sat down beside the desk at the far end of the room and, instead of getting straight to writing up the paperwork he'd requested, he sat it aside and gestured for Ravi to bring him their bag of breakfast.

The next half hour was devoted to making bagel sandwiches with the salmon and cream cheese they'd bought. It was an unfamiliar taste to him, but he couldn't say that it wasn't delicious. They polished off the remaining five bagels and split the water bottle they'd purchased with the food until it was empty.

"That hit the spot," Trever said as he took a pen out of his jacket pocket and got down to business.

Ravi stretched out on the carpet and closed his eyes next to the man's chair, not bothering to pay attention to the paperwork part. He took a quick cat nap until he heard Trever's chair moving again, the sound drawing him out of his light sleep.

"Ready to go make some people's days not so great?" Trever asked as he got up, making Ravi hop to his feet, too.

Always. I love making people's days bad, he said, not really understanding but wanting to agree, anyways.

They headed back out onto the floor and, unsurprisingly, stopped at the main receptionist desk first. Gina was there, but instead of greeting them, or even acknowledging their existence, she was painting her nails with her feet up on the desk.

"Hello Gina, I have a piece of paper for you that you need to sign and return to Mr. Spencer by the end of the day, please," Trever said before walking away.

Ravi followed him, but as he looked back over his shoulder, he saw the young lady glare at them and flip his master off.

And thus, their day went pretty much like that. They visited the main offices and handed out quite a lot of papers. Each one earned them a glare, but, after two hours of handing out frowns and speaking with a multitude of employees, Trever handed someone a paper and their face actually lit up with excitement, Ravi tilted his head in curiosity.

"Thank you so much, sir, and welcome back!" the older man said as he looked back down at the paper in excitement.

They made a few more people's days before worsening five others before finally returning back to the office to type up the email he'd said he'd send to Mr. Spencer at the end of their tasks for the day.

Master Trever, why were people happy to get a write up? he asked, understanding the gist of what they were after listening to Trever explaining them to several confused employees that had clearly never seen such things.

"A few of those were left over from the last time I was here. He'd added them to the stack in the hopes that I wouldn't make everyone's day terrible," Trever said with a chuckle.

Ah, well I am glad that some people got good news

Trever nodded and finished typing up his email, then got up and gestured for Ravi to follow him after swinging the bag he'd brought back over his shoulder.

"I think we're about done for today. I went around to introduce myself and handed out what needed to be given out. Now to see if people will respect my decision," he said as they headed out after he locked up the office.

Do you think that they will?

Trever grinned and shook his head as they walked toward a now-fuming Gina who, surprisingly, was no longer painting her nails.

"Some will, some won't. I don't doubt that Mr. Spencer is going to have a bad day, just like them. There will be a lot of arguing, I'm sure, but that's not my problem. I can't force his people to do anything. All I can do is deliver and implement the tools that can help him regain control over his staff," he said as they stepped into the elevator and headed down.

Ravi nodded in understanding as they stepped off the elevator and started their walk home. He had a lot going on in his mind as he tried to process everything that his master had done, and why. He didn't understand much, but he was determined to understand enough.

"Hey Vivi?"

Ravi looked up, tilting his head slightly.

"Thank you for coming with me on this trip. The last time I did this it was pretty stressful, but with you here it just seems simple. Even with all the glares I got today, I still didn't feel nervous handling all of the employees," he said with a smile that made Ravi's heart thump within his chest.

Needing to burn off the extra excitement from Trever's confession, Ravi began bounding around the sidewalk and little field they were walking beside, making sure to behave and not chase anything... for too long, at least. No catching, either.

It was around five by the time they got home and while Ravi played by himself with his tug toy, swinging it around and tossing it the air, Trever ordered them a pizza and relaxed on the couch with the TV on low.

Ravi made sure to wear himself out a bit before walking over to Trever with his purple toy still hanging from his mouth.

"Hey bud," Trever said before sitting up and tugging his fancy jacket off, then tossing it on the back of the couch. He then laid down again with his head propped on the armrest and patted his chest.

Taking the obvious hint, Ravi dropped his toy and hopped right up to snuggle with his person. He snuck in a tiny lick to Trever's chin as the man pet him with both hands, and thankfully, he didn't seem to mind at all. Not that he hadn't been told that he could do it earlier, but he was still not the best with showing affection and he knew that Trever wasn't interested in really receiving it, either.

He thought over the situation several times as Trever turned his attention to the movie that was playing on the television but kept petting his soft coat.

By the time Ravi had decided to try another lick he had shifted back to his human form... and was now propped up on his elbows, staring slightly downward at his surprised master. His hands were dangerously close to being able to caress the man's neck and saliva pooled in his mouth as he considered how he would taste.

Move. Move. I should move.

He kept telling himself that, but his dog didn't want to hear the version of the warning he meant. The most he was able to do at that moment was hold himself back from pushing things further.

Thankfully, Trever noticed his internal struggle and, instead of responding with his silver dog, which wasn't looking too happy behind his eyes, he reached down and picked up the paper bag Ravi had forgotten about.

"Let's have a snack before our dinner gets here," he said, his voice only sounding a tiny bit off.

Ravi immediately accepted the distraction, relieved that his dog was never not hungry. It also loved sweets, so even if it wanted him to eat Trever, a donut was enough of a treat to draw his attention away.

Bringing the bag up to the couch, Trever took out the braided donut, making Ravi's nostrils flare as the scent of sugar met his nose. Without even thinking, he leaned forward and took a bite of one of the ends, but when he went to pull away and tear it off, it didn't budge much.

"It's probably gone a bit stale since it's been in the bag all day," Trever noted with a hint of humor to his words as Ravi continued to yank on the piece of sugary bread until, finally, he managed to tear the piece off with a frustrated growl.

While the task had been a bit annoying for his human half, his dog half was quite delighted with the sensation of tearing. It was a hunter, after all, and not a very nice one, at that. Wild dogs tended to eat their meals on the go, which basically meant that they had to tear it apart as fast as they could before it could get away.

They took turns tearing off pieces, and the shorter the braid got, the higher up Ravi inched on the man's body. When it was finally down to the last two pieces, Ravi quickly inhaled his, but Trever took a few extra seconds to allow a quiet laugh to slip out before he began to slide his own piece into his mouth.

Ravi had no problem with him taking the last bite, but his dog? Before he could stop himself, he lunged forward and grabbed the piece of dough with his teeth. At the same time, however, Trever's eyes flashed and his silver dog seemed to urge him to not relinquish his food, either.

Thus, both held onto the last bite of donut with their teeth.

Ravi began to growl when Trever refused to relinquish the food, and as time passed, crawled even closer as their breathing mixed together. Even with his imposing behavior and warning growls, however, Trever's own dog refused to give in. Ravi would have tried harder to calm his own pup, but when he noticed that Trever wasn't growling, nor was he trying to tug the food away, he realized something.

Is he...

Ravi felt his dog's instincts surge as he reached up with one hand and tangled his fingers into Trever's hair, then gripped it as he let out one final warning growl. He felt the man tense beneath him in response, but then, ever so slowly, he relented and released the morsel between his teeth.

While he hadn't really wanted the small bite of donut all that much, Ravi didn't hesitate to chew it quietly, then swallow it down while keeping direct eye contact. The man kept looking away, but each time he glanced back up at him, he was met with the same dominant stare.

When the food was completely out of the picture, Trever turned his head to the side on the armrest and kept his eyes averted. His face was quite flushed and Ravi read the signals loud and clear. And, although his dog wanted to immediately take things further, instead, he forced himself to calm down enough so that he could release the man's hair, then carefully climb off of him and the sofa.

He mechanically tugged on a pair of pants so that he could answer the door for the pizza that was going to arrive at any moment, and also to keep himself from climbing back onto his master. The man also needed some time to breathe. He hadn't intended to crowd him and force a reaction... it had just kind of, happened.

"I'm sorry," he said clearly but nervously as he slowly walked over to wait by the door, wanting to give him even more space.

Trever's dog was extremely dominant, but his human form? He hadn't expected it, at all, but he'd sensed certain things here and there. Now that he'd finally figured it out... he wasn't sure what to do. He'd need to keep better control of his dog, for starters, and, he supposed, just go from there.

Biting back a smile that he knew he didn't disserve to have at the moment since he'd been quite rude to master Trever, Ravi crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the wall, allowing his thoughts to replay their previous situation, and its conclusion, in his head over and over as he waited there. Even the man's dog, as dominant as it was, had allowed Trever to respond to Ravi's show of dominance in a way he hadn't expected it to.

Sighing out the craziness of the situation, Ravi tilted his head up slightly and closed his eyes.

My beautiful, sweet master is submissive to me.
