Wild Dog 15

They had talked a lot longer than he'd thought they would. He'd been tired, of course, but each time he considered saying goodnight, they'd go off on another topic and it was impossible to stop listening to Wyatt's deep, warm voice. He was surprised when his eyes suddenly cracked open the next morning, aching slightly from having stayed up for so long, but when they saw that the Facetime video hadn't ended yet and he was actually staring at a sleeping, curled-up Wyatt?

I want to be that pillow he's hugging.

Sitting up as quietly as he could, Blake stifled a yawn as he continued to stare at the man. He was honestly shocked that he'd left the call on, and he also must have propped it up so that it could point at him while he slept.

He wanted to just sit there all day and watch the man sleep, and he might have done just that, but then his alarm began to chime, making him fumble to shut it off. It was silenced in a record three seconds, but when the display disappeared, returning the screen to the Facetime call, he felt bad.

It woke him up.

Well, partially.

Wyatt had his head resting on the body pillow he was currently hugging. His right eye was open halfway while his left one was hidden against the pillow.

His hair is so messy and there doesn't appear to be anyone home, even though he's kind of awake.

Part of him wanted to let the guy drift back to sleep since it really was pretty early, but the other half wanted to see how much cuter the man could be while half asleep. Deciding to try his luck, he leaned closer to his phone with an eager smile.

"Good morning, master Wyatt," he said quietly.

The guy gave a deep, content sigh and snuggled into his pillow more as he replied with a quiet "mmn."

He seemed to be trying to stay awake, or as awake as he was at that moment, but his eye kept slipping closed. Blake watched him intently, unable to hold back his growing grin each time Wyatt opened his eye again to stare at him.

Hmm?

Tilting his head, he leaned a little closer, then moved the phone away before getting close again.

Am I seeing things, or does he have...?

Wyatt seemed to realize that he was being stared at oddly because he began to wake up a bit more. With his growing coherance, the odd thing Blake noticed began to disappear back into the guy's messy hair.

"Enjoying the view?" Wyatt mumbled as he hugged the pillow tighter, opening his right eye completely to stare back at him.

Blake felt his mouth go dry as he opened it to reply, unsure whether he should ask the question he'd intended to. Wyatt had never mentioned it, so perhaps he shouldn't be rude and assume? Or perhaps he just wasn't interested in sharing that bit of information about himself?

He was about to laugh off the awkward staring and tell him that he had to go get ready for his sixth interview... which was why he'd set the alarm in the first place, but his words got caught in his throat. When Wyatt slowly lifted his right arm from around the pillow and hesitantly ran a hand over his hair, Blake knew that he hadn't been mistaken.

The guy seemed to realize that he'd seen something, too, because he slowly pushed himself up and grabbed hold of his phone.

Oh my god his hair is so messy. I want to run my fingers through it!

As he was thinking that, he noticed something else that immediately caught his attention. It wasn't that it was odd, in general, but it wasn't usually something a person would do.

He's flaring his nose a lot, and I don't even think he realizes it.

"Blake, what's wrong?" Wyatt asked seriously, now completely awake.

His nose quickly stopped what it had been doing, but Blake couldn't keep his mind off of what he'd seen.

"Master Wyatt... may I ask you something personal?" he asked honestly, his curiousity forcing the words from his mouth.

The man on the other end of the call raised an eyebrow but shrugged one shoulder as he offered a reassuring smile.

"Of course. Ask me whatever you'd like."

I really hope he doesn't get mad at me for this.

Nodding, Blake swallowed down his nerves and licked his lips.

"Master Wyatt, are you a shifter?"

Silence took over their conversation for nearly a full minute before Wyatt gave a nervous chuckle and rubbed at the back of his neck. Blake immediately felt bad for making the man feel awkward, but then he noticed something move beneath his hair again.

Wyatt clearly noticed his reaction, but to his surprise, he didn't seem worried. In fact, he offered Blake a cheeky grin and fell back onto his normal pillows before lifting the phone above his head.

"I am," was his simple reply.

Blake grinned, excited that he was right. He was about to say something else when he noticed the clock on his phone and paled.

"I have to get ready," he said as he hurried off the bed and headed for the little bathroom.

Not really thinking, he leaned the phone against the mirror and abruptly tugged off the shirt he'd fallen asleep in. His pants were about to be dropped, too, but his fingers paused when he heard Wyatt clear his throat, drawing his attention up to the man.

"Master Wyatt?"

The man was staring at him like he wanted to eat him...

And that's when Blake realized that he was literally stripping right in front of the guy!

"O-oh, I'm sorry!" he stuttered out as he reached forward to grab his phone.

He was just about to say his goodbyes when he immediately froze at the sound of Wyatt's voice.

"Stop."

He did so without hesitation, leaving him staring down at the phone screen with his chest completely bare. If he hadn't been so distracted with the man's abrupt order, he would have probably begun breaking down because of the amount of scars now visible on his upper half.

Wyatt offered him a reassuring smile.

"I just want to be clear with you first. I will never be upset to see any part of you that you wish to show me. Seeing as this situation was likely a mistake because you are rushing, though, I am the one that should be apologizeing for intentionally staring when I should have averted my eyes," he said, making Blake's face warm.

"I-I don't mind you looking..." Blake mumbled, making Wyatt smile but shake his head.

"I want you to want to show me next time, when you're absolutely comfortable with it. I'd also like for that situation to happen in person," Wyatt said, making Blake bite the inside of his lower lip to try and hide his growing grin.

He quickly nodded, over-exaggerating the gesture enough to make the other man give a deep chuckle. When he looked back up, he was smiling and blushing outright.

Master Wyatt wants to see me again!

Of course, the man had just admitted that he was clearly interested when Sage had been messing with him the day before, but hearing that confirmation from the man's mouth right then? He felt like he was in heaven.

"You mentioned that you have to get ready, so I'll let you go now, but before that..." he said as he tilted his head slightly on his soft pillow, making his hair even more messy.

Except, that wasn't what Blake was focusing on. His mouth slowly opened as his eyes widened.

Master Wyatt...

He couldn't believe what he was seeing.

The guy had not been lying. He was definitely a shifter.

I can't believe it, though...

But there was no denying what he saw.

Beautiful animal ears slowly lowered from within his dark air to settle on either side of his head on the pillow. They were gorgeous, and not just any animal's ears...

Long, fuzzy, adorable, black bunny ears!
