Chapter Three

I am terrible. I should've updated! I am so ashamed in myself. I am so sorry. For I have no excuse other than I have been more focused on my Role-play. None the less here is chapter 3.

Jason's POV

Golden boy and I are currently patrolling Gotham City. While Bruce tries to remember us and his life as Batman. Luckily they hasn't been any major attacks on Gotham. Just a few small gangs and petty thiefs. None of them noticed that it isn't the real Batman in Gotham tonight. I don't think any of the villains has noticed that Batman has been missing for a week. At least all those ones we have encountered haven't. "Hey Dick.....do you think any of the morons noticed that B-Man has been missing for a week." I asked Dick in a loud clear voice.

Dick glared at me with an almost perfect bat- glare, "Don't use my actual name in the field. And it is a possibility that they noticed. But, Gotham has not been in any severe danger so I doubt that they realized anything."

I rolled my eyes, "You sound like Bruce. Father like son eh....can we go back now? I have a beer that's been calling my name for the past hour." Dick grapples to the top of a nearby building and crouches down. I do the same and frown beneath my red helmet. "Why the hell are we up here?" I exclaim annoyed with his silence. Dick motions for me to shut up. "Like hell I'm going to shut up. I'm pissed cause I could be beating someone to a pulp or chugging down a beer. But, instead, I'm standing on a rooftop with you" I say glaring at him. Dick rolls his eyes and quickly points to the shadows approaching the alleyway, where we were just standing. I quickly close my mouth and look for the owners of the shadows. Two assassins flanking Talia Al Ghul emerge and walk down the alleyway. They head in the direction of an old food processing warehouse. When they enter the warehouse, I frown thinking of how I wouldn't be getting that beer until a while later. Honestly it would be worth it if I get to fight an Al Ghul. "What's the plan 'Batman'. I'm guessing that Talia is going to speak with her father." I say.

Dick didn't answer right away thinking, "We're going to investigate. Listen in on what they are saying. Go in, find out what they are speaking about and get out. Do not engage Red Hood. You also need to work on your anger issues. You get mad about the littlest things. I mean I just told you to shut up. It's not like I knocked you out."

I glare at him, "Now you really sound like Bruce. Always lecturing me. And don't worry about me. I won't engage unless I want to."

"You love fighting the Al Ghuls. I don't sound like Bruce. I'm just trying to make a good plan." Dick replied already heading to the warehouse.

"Only because they put up a good fight and were the ones who didn't let me stay dead. Whatever you say goldie....." I say smirking beneath my mask. I follow him to the warehouse. When we arrive we peek through a broken window to see Talia and Ra's already having a discussion. Only 5 assassins are in the room, the two with Talia, and three that seem to be protecting Ra's. I muttered to Dick, "Only five men?"

Dick nodded, "No one outside or in the shadows. This is an extremely private meeting." The two hid in the shadowed part of the warehouse's ceiling. The Al Ghuls seemed to be talking about the happenings of Gotham. "They will not be prepared for any sort of attack father. Gotham is weak." Talia said.

"What of the Bat and his allies?" Ra's asked.

"They have been missing for a week. Batman and Red Hood have only been spotted out in Gotham tonight. You wouldn't know of the reason as to why have been unapparent in Gotham, would you father," Talia said looking straight into her father's eyes.

Ra's looked at her and said nonchalantly, "Whatever do you mean daughter."

"It is not uncommon knowledge that Batman went to the League's base searching for you. After that he wasn't seen for a week. I was wondering if you are the reason my Beloved has not been seen in Gotham for a total of seven days," Talia replied.

"You just spoke of the Batman and Red Hood's appearance in Gotham today," Ra's replied with a small frown.

Talia sighed, "It is not my Beloved who is under that mask. Whoever was in Gotham tonight was a fraud." Ra's only nodded his head in response. Dick was shifting a little as he listened. He clicked a button on his belt. I know that he had began to record the conversation the Al Ghuls are having. Ra's finally spoke up again, "Yes, I believe I am the reason the Batman hasn't been up to his usual nighttime activities."

Talia grimaced, "Did you injure him? Did you....kill my Beloved?"

"No. Your Beloved is still alive. Although he is having a bit of difficulty remembering his allies and being the Dark Knight." Ra's said, "Instead he remembers the League of Assassins and the Demon's Head."

Talia's face both showed awe and disgust, "You removed parts of his memory and replaced it with what you see fit. This could've killed him. He could've lost all his memories and not even remember who he is. He could've just believed he was a lowly assassin."

"Yes, a lot of things could've gone wrong. But nothing wrong happened. The Batman doesn't exist in his mind. He doesn't remember wearing the cowl, forming the Justice League, and his adopted children. All he remembers is being trained, within the League, to become the perfect assassin. To become the perfect heir to the Demon's Head." Ra's replied, "He has never wanted to be heir even though he is the perfect candidate. I was forced to take action for the future of the League. Now your Beloved has forgotten his heroic roots, and can only recall the life of a proud assassin. This means that the League will be in good hands when I pass."

"How can you be so sure?" Talia asked

"My men and I have been working and perfecting this weapon for years." Ra's said smirking.

Talia frowned, "They're is always the possibility of your calculations being incorrect"

"Are you questioning my calculations?" Ra's asked glaring at her.

Talia didn't reply at first, but eventually stammered, "Of course not, father. I just wondered how you were sure that the weapon worked."

Ra's nodded his head, "It was used on one of my men. It worked just as planned."

"What happened to this assassin?" Talia asked, "I wish to see what effect the weapon has on my beloved or any man."

"He is already dead. After we confirmed that the weapon works, he was killed immediately. But do not fret. We can use the weapon on another of my men, so you may see the effect it has." Ra's replied, "You will be returning to the League base with me, correct."

"I will remain in Gotham and make sure your plans are carried out." Talia replied.

Ra's nodded, "If you discover any news about the real Batman, alert me immediately."

"Of course, father." Talia said before leaving the warehouse with the two assassins following her.

I looked at Dick and frowned. He clicked the button on his belt again, turning off the recording system. Dick exited the building through the window we entered. I followed him as quiet as possible. I am pissed, I am beyond pissed. The reason my old man can't remember is because of Ra's and his stupid League. All because Ra's needed a freaking heir to the Demon's Head. "What the hell are we going to do?" I asked Dick.

"We're going back to the cave. We need to contact the Justice League. They may be able to help us with this situation," Dick replied.

"What are they going to do? We have to deal with Ra's. And the fact that our dad has turned into the perfect heir and assassin," I say.

"The Justice League may have a way to recover his memories instantly. He already remembers some things. We just have to hope that he remembers enough to not want to kill us, and not to return to his 'mentor'.  Let's go," Dick said before taking off in the direction of the Batcave.

I roll my eyes and follow him. I silently mutter, "Hope is pathetic. If we depend on hope, we might as well begin digging our graves."
