Chapter Eighteen

Hello! I have another chapter for you all. Please enjoy it.

Third Person POV

Dick grunts as he blocks a blow from an assassin's sword. He pushs the man back and delivers a kick to his head. He collapses and Dick moves onto the next opponent. Jason is standing at the back of the group, firing his gun at any assassin that tries to sneak up on his brothers. Tim has his bow-staff out and knocks over a small group of assassins running towards him. Bruce seems to be doing fine. His methods of fighting are completely different compared to Batman. He doesn't hesitate to deliver pain to each of his opponents. The Batfamily pushes through the flood of assassins that come their way. The League definitely knows why they are here. They are using anything in their power to stop them from reaching Ra's. Still, they didn't seem to be succeeding. The Bats has pushed their way to the middle of the compound already. They haven't received any major damage either. Sure, there is the occasional cut, but nothing fatal. "This is way too easy," Jason calls out as he fires his gun again.

"Don't get to cocky. Their stronger men will be closer to Ra's. We will have to fight trickier opponents as we move on," Dick calls out as he slams his escrima stick into someone's head.

"Yeah...yeah..." Jason calls out as he shoots an assassin in the stomach. The group of Bats continue to push past the assassins until they reach an open field. There aren't any assassins coming at them. They all look at one another, a tad bit wary of the situation. Why would they just leave this area unguarded? This has to be some sort of trick. "Let's go. Before more men come," Tim says already walking. Jason follows. Dick and Bruce hesitate before following the other two. Dick freezes when he hears a clicking noise and a sliding sound. Almost like the loading of guns and crossbows. Dick discreetly looks at the areas above him and frowns. "Shit. Everyone get down!" Dick exclaims and tackles the Bats to the side. A wave of bullets and arrows crash down in the area where they were all just standing. "What are we supposed to do now? The door is on the other side of the courtyard. We have to go through that to get to it," Tim asks.

"I have an idea. I need you all to distract the shooters though," Dick says.

"Go, we'll handle it," Bruce says. Dick nods his head and takes off in another direction. "Wait a minute. I don't want to get shot at. I've never agreed to be the distraction. What if I get hit?" Jason asks.

"You'll just have to move quickly," Tim says, "If you don't want to get hit, that is. Tim and Bruce run out to the center of the field. Jason mutters a string of curses before rushing out to join them. The three Bats shout and wave their arms, trying to get the shooters' attentions. The shooters focus on them and fire their weapons. They all scatter, trying to dodge the bullets and arrows. Tim yells out in pain as an arrow grazes his arm, blood starts to drip from his elbow. "Tim! Are you alright!?" Bruce yells out.

"I'll be fine. It's only a little blood," Tim replies dodging another arrow.

"Golden boy better hurry the hell up!" Jason shouts as a bullet whizzes past his face, "We can't just keep doing this all day. Eventually, one of us is going to get hit and-" A bullet hits Jason in the leg and he crumples to the floor. He winces in pain. The bullet went all the way through his leg and blood starts pooling out. Bruce rushes over to help Jason stand. He moves him to a spot where he can't get hit anymore. "Hurry, Dick," Bruce mutters as a bullet lands near his foot. While this all happens, Dick is making his way up to where the shooters are standing. He quietly sneaks up behind one of them and knocks him out. He continues to do this, taking each man out one at a time. Once he's dealt with all the men, he drops down to the center of the courtyard. "Took you long enough," Jason says as he limps over.

"Sorry about that. You alright, Jay?" Dick asks.

Jason rolls his eyes, "I'm as okay as any man would be, if he were shot in the leg."

"You consider yourself a man?" Tim mutters.

Jason looks at him, "Yes, as a matter of fact, I do."

"Why?" Tim asks.

"What do you mean, why? I am a man," Jason replies.

"Sure, keep telling yourself that," Tim retorts.

"Say that again, I dare you," Jason spats.

"Guys. We have something important to do. Fight later," Dick says walking towards the door.

"Fine," Jason says following Dick.

"Whatever..." Tim mutters making his way to the doors. Bruce sighs and follows the younger Bats. They all burst through the doors at the same time. They are greeted with another large group of assassins. They don't have weapons, but they are clearly skilled in martial arts. Dick slips his escrima sticks into their holders and gets into a fighting stance. The rest of the Bats do the same. This would be a fist fight, solely a fist fight. The Bats run into the group, fighting multiple men at the same time. Dick delivers a punch to a man's jaw before flipping backwards and kicking another guy in the throat. Bruce slams his fist into someone's gut and proceeds to do a sweep kick, knocking over three men. Jason has a smirk as he dislocates one of the assassin's arm. He throws that man into another, before moving onto his next opponent. Tim quickly knocks out men as they approach him. The Bats fight against the assassins fairly easily. They don't sustain any real injuries, only a few bruises here and there. The Bats continue to make their way through the base and to where Ra's Al Ghul is. "Where the hell is he?" Jason asks.

"What are you doing here? Would you care explain why you are searching for my father?" Talia Al Ghul says as she approaches them. She is carrying a sword with her and standing behind her are a bunch of men. "Lady Al Ghul," Bruce says, "I'll deal with her boys. You focus on her men."

"You sure, Bruce?" Dick asks. Bruce nods his head before facing Talia. Talia gives Bruce a small smile and points her sword at him, "Hello, beloved. It's been a while since we last danced."

Bruce frowns, "I don't understand what you are saying, my Lady." Dick and the other two focus their attentions on the men and chose to ignore the conversation their father is having. "It seems that your memories really have been altered. I was not sure what type of effect the weapon would have on you. One thing is for sure, my beloved would never call me his lady," Talia says approaching him. Bruce doesn't raise his fists and stands still as she moves closer to him. "Are you not going to fight me? I am your enemy," Talia says smoothly.

"I know that you are my enemy. I should be ready to attack you. Yet, something is telling me I shouldn't. In my head, you are my master's daughter. You are my lady, the daughter of the Demon. I would never fight you. It isn't right if I do so," Bruce replies.

Talia frowns and looks at Bruce, "Beloved. No, you're not my beloved. You aren't him."

"My lady, is there something the matter?" Bruce asks.

Talia shakes her head, "My father, changed you. Too much. I suspected as much. It is a good thing that I have a failsafe. Do not fret, beloved, I will return with something to solve all of your problems." When she finishes saying that, she runs off in the other direction. Bruce stands there with a frown on his face. He turns around to see that the Bat brothers has dealt with the men. "Talia, she ran off in that direction. Should we split up? Some of us follow her while the rest of us search for Ra's," Tim asks.

Dick shakes his head, "Leave her be. We didn't come here to talk to her. We came here to confront the Demon's Head." Suddenly, someone coughs loudly. The noise echoes around the room. The Bats all turn their heads in the direction they heard the sound. Standing right in front of them, flanked by assassins, is none other than Ra's Al Ghul. "For what reason would you be searching for me," Ra's asks.

"We want you to return Bruce's memories," Tim states in a loud voice.

Ra's shakes his head, "I cannot do that. His memories of you are no longer present."

"You are a freaking liar! You can bring them back. You have to bring them back. If you refuse, we'll make you bring them back. Using any force necessary," Jason spats pointing his guns at Ra's chest. His men immediately stand in front of him and guard him from the Bats. "What do you think you are all doing? Move you imbeciles," Ra's exclaims with a waving of his arms.

"But, master, these men wish to kill you. It is our duty to protect you and handle any threats to your life," one assassin says.

Ra's shakes his head, "Move. I can handle my protégé and some ridiculous children. I doubt my protégé would even dare lay a hand on me anyway. Why don't you join me, Bruce? Fight by my side. You are my successor after all." The assassins quickly moves out of the way and made their way to the corners of the room. Bruce moves so he is standing right in front of Ra's. "I apologize, master, but things will not be occurring the way you expect. I will be standing with my sons. I will be fighting with them. I care more for their safety, than yours."

"It appears that they have brainwashed you, yet again. I cannot have this," Ra's frowns and unsheathes his sword, "If that is what you wish, so be it. You must know that you and your 'sons' will be meeting a very violent death. I hope that you are ready to die, detective."
