Chapter 19

Scott had made a pact to stay away from Allison but Blake could tell that it wasn't going too well.

Stiles was mad at Scott and blamed him for his dad getting hit by a car.
"Still not talking to me?" Scott asked, sitting behind Stiles in class. "Okay, can you at least tell me if your dad's okay? It's just a bruise, right? Some soft tissue damage. Nothing that big."

However Stiles remained silent. Blake glanced over at Stiles who sat beside her. He looked at Blake.

"Did you hear something?" He asked innocently.
"You know I feel really bad about it, right? Okay, what if I told you that I'm trying to figure this whole thing out, and, that I went to Derek for help?" Scott announced.

"If I was talking to you, I'd say that you're an idiot for trusting him," Stiles began. "But obviously I'm not talking to you."

After a few seconds, Stiles huffed before turning to face Scott. Blake grinned, happy that Stiles was going to talk to Scott.
"What did he say?" He asked.

The bell rang so Scott, Stiles and Blake walked out of the classroom, while Scott explained to Stiles what Derek had said.

"What? He wants you to tap into your animal side and get angry?" Stiles questioned.

"Yeah," Scott nodded.
"All right, well correct me if I'm wrong, but every time you do that," Stiles began. "You try to kill someone. And that someone's usually me."
"I know," Scott agreed. "That's what he means when he says he doesn't know if he can teach me. I have to be able to control it."

"But, isn't Derek the main reason you get angry in the first place?" Blake added.

"Yeah, but he's gonna teach me how to control it," Scott explained.
"How's he gonna teach you that?" Stiles questioned.

"I don't know," Scott shrugged. "I don't think he does either."
"Okay, when are you seeing him again?"
"He told me not to talk about it. Just act normal and get through the day."
"When?"

"He's picking me up at the animal clinic after work."
"After work, alright," Stiles nodded. "Well, that gives me to the end of the school day then."

"To do what?" Scott and Blake asked in unison.

"To teach you myself."

"Stiles, you can't even teach him algebra," Blake stated. "How are you going to teach him to control his anger and tap into his animal side?"

"I've got an idea," Stiles answered. "I think."

"Can we just go and get some food? I'm starving," Blake announced.
"No! Allison will be in there!" Scott exclaimed.

"Scott, I am not going to starve just because you want to stay away from a girl," the youngest McCall explained, grabbing Stiles' arm and dragging him into the cafeteria.

"Guys! Wait!" Scott yelled from behind us. Blake entered the canteen, letting go of Stiles and telling him to get them a table.

After getting her food (which was really just an apple and water), she joined Scott and Stiles at the table. Scott was holding a book up to his face. Blake looked behind her and saw Lydia and Allison sat at a table across from them.
Blake sat down and bit into her apple.

"Scott, isn't she the one with the werewolf hunter for a dad?" Blake asked, gesturing towards Allison.

"Yes. And she has a name," Scott answered, peering over the book to look at his sister.

"She probably doesn't even like you then. She was probably ordered by her dad to get close to you, so then, when you're at her house making out, out of nowhere comes this knife and then you're dead," Blake explained.
Both Stiles and Scott were staring at her horrified.

"Sorry, when you're at her house studying," Blake corrected herself.
She looked back over at Allison and noticed that Lydia was gone.
"I think the book's making it more obvious," Stiles stated. "Besides, she's reading, anyway."

"So did you come up with a plan yet?" Scott asked.
"I think so," Stiles replied.

"Does that mean you don't hate me now?" Scott questioned.
"No. But your crap has infiltrated my life, so now I have to do something about it," Stiles started. "Plus, I'm definitely a better Yoda than Derek."
"What?" Blake asked.

"Okay, yeah, you teach me," Scott agreed.
"Yeah, I'll be your Yoda," Stiles added.

"Yeah, you be my Yoda."

"Your Yoda I will be. I said it backwards."

"Yeah, I know," Scott sighed at Stiles' humour. Scott stood up and went to leave the table.

"All right, you know what?" Stiles asked. "I definitely still hate you. Uh huh. Oh yeah."

Scott left and Allison was shouting at him to wait.

"So, what's your big plan?" Blake asked, taking another bite from her apple.
Stiles grinned. "Something fun for me, and you."

"Okay, now put this on," Stiles ordered as he handed Scott a heart monitor to put on around his arm.

"Isn't this one of the heart monitors for the track team?" Scott asked.
"Yeah, I borrowed it," Stiles answered.

"Stole it," Scott corrected him.
"Temporarily misappropriated. Coach uses it to monitor his heart rate with his phone while he jogs, and you're gonna wear it for the rest of the day."
Stiles pulled a phone out from a bag.

"Isn't that Coach's phone?" Scott questioned.
"That, I stole," Stiles replied.
"Why?"

"All right, well, your heart rate goes up when you go wolf, right?" When you're playing lacrosse, when you're with Allison, whenever you get angry," Stiles explained. "Maybe learning to control it is tied to learning to control your heart rate."

"Like the Incredible Hulk."

"Kind of like the Incredible Hulk, yeah," Stiles nodded.

"No, I'm like the Incredible Hulk," Scott informed.

"Would you shut up and put the strap on?!" Stiles exclaimed.
Scott put the strap on his arm and waited for further orders.
Stiles grabbed a lacrosse stick and walked a few metres from Scott.

"This isn't exactly how I wanted to spend my free period," Scott muttered.
Stiles grabbed a lacrosse ball before looking at Scott.
"All right, you ready?" He asked.

"No."

"Remember, don't get angry," Stiles advised. He threw the lacrosse ball towards Scott. It hit him, but Scott didn't say a word.
"I'm starting to think this was a bad idea," Scott announced.
"I think it's a great idea!" Blake answered cheerfully. "Mind if I have a go, Stiles?"

"Sure," Stiles grinned.

"This is so not fair! She played baseball!" Scott whined.

"Oh, shut up," Blake mumbled.

She grabbed the lacrosse ball from Stiles and took a ball from the pile.
"Okay, hold it like this," Stiles said as he guided her arms to where they should be. Blake shrugged him off. "I'm not stupid!"

Blake grinned at her brother. This was going to be a lot of fun. She swung the stick and the ball went flying towards Scott, hitting him in the head.
He groaned. "That hurt," he mumbled.

"I knew all those years of baseball would pay off," Blake smirked.
"Let me throw one," Stiles ordered. Blake gladly gave him the stick and watched as he threw a ball at Scott's crotch. While Scott was on the ground, moaning with pain, Blake was on the ground laughing her ass off.
"Son of a bitch!" Scott hissed.

"You know what?" Stiles asked. "I think my aim's improving."

"Wonder why."

"Don't get angry," Stiles demanded.
"I'm not getting angry," Scott answered.

After a few minutes of Stiles and Blake taking turns at hitting Scott, Scott started to get tired of it.
"Stop. Just - can we just hold -"

Blake noticed that Scott was breathing heavily. She knew he was changing. She saw the numbers on Coach's phone start to get higher really quickly. But then Scott gained control of his breathing and stood up straight to look at us.
"Scott? Scott, you started to change," Stiles explained.

"From anger," Scott explained. "But it was more than that. It was like, the angrier I got, the stronger I felt."

"Derek was right," Blake declared.
"I can't be around Allison," Scott stated.

"Just because she makes you happy?" Stiles asked.
"No, because she makes me weak."

Blake was showing off her baseball skills and Stiles and Scott are talking again!
