ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Maybe I should've quit the league, this was something I didn't sign up for.

Is it me? Or is this place too big to be a agency?

I was not joking when I say that this building must have at least one hundred floors. How are the windows so sparkly clean? Fucking no idea. But it only made me more anxious. The possibilities of me fucking up big time was high. And I didn't look like I belong here.

But it was too late to call it quits. Even if I did, I'll end up in a beg, chopped up and tosses on the side of the street. Dabi couldn't even save me then.

Gathering all the courage I had, which was not a lot. I stopped shifting the weight of my body to one leg to the other, stopped fidgeting with my nails and walked straight to the door. Only to be face to face to the receptionist, who also looked like she didn't want to be there. Almost forced?

"Hey-"

"Name please. And what business do you have here?"

I scoffed at her attitude, "[N/N] [L/N]. Here as the new assistant for Hawks?"

Some more typing and clicking, before looking up at me and then back at the screen. She nodded, pointing to the side of the building without looking at me.

"All the way to the top."

"Thanks."

Glad to get out of her way of work, I rushed over to the elevators. Getting there just in time as one of its doors opened. I stepped in, pressing the button to the top floor. By this time, I haven't even noticed but I didn't feel so nervous anymore...

Humming a simple tune, I waited for the elevator to bring me up to my destination. It was so much faster than I thought it'll be. But maybe I should've paid more attention to where I was going, cause I ended up crashing, face first, into something.

Something that was neither hard nor soft?

"You good?"

Based on his voice, I could only assume that he was man. He patted my back and kept repeating the phrase 'sorry' like a broken record. The more he talked the worst it got. Probably worst than the sound of nails on a chalk board. But I doubt anything could beat that.

"Whatever, I'm fine-" Eyes widening at the sight of the most gorgeous vermilion pair of wings of all time. All the feathers were nicely kept, cleaned, washed, it looked fluffy. "Hawks?" I squeaked out in surprise. Not all that excited to meet him so soon.

"Why not take picture? You could hang me up on your wall and stare at this handsome face all day?"

Immediately all thoughts of him being a nice, tolerable guy went straight down the drain, into the trash can, down a river, in a fire place? Whatever you call it. Butย  whatever he said made me look at him with a puzzled look. Judging him his entire existance. But that man was basically a open book, nothing interesting to remember.

"You're dreaming." I replied, rolling my ankle, which was sore from wearing my newly brought boots/heels my brother had brought me. "I'm not some crazy fan girl."

"Really?" He looked too proud of himself, "I guess I'm not getting a down bad assistant."

"You were wishing for one?"

"Come in. Unless you want to do paper work out in the hallways."

Already ignoring me, he walked back into his office. I rolled my eyes and tried to quickly catch up with him, not actually wanting to do work in the hallways. Especially on my first day. Not surprisingly, his office was big, fully furnished. It had a connecting kitchen with a bathroom as well, basically just an apartment. He could live here if he wanted to, but he probably has a penthouse to tend to.

The winged man settled down on the seat behind the newest version of the Mapple desktop and started typing away. He didn't even acknowledge my presence as I awkwardly stand here. Slightly nervous at the thought of breaking anything. Imagining how much money could disappear in a snap of his fingers.

"Get comfortable."

The voice from being the desk top told me to get comfortable. Hesitantly I slowly walked to one of the couches and sat down. Eyes falling onto the cups on the table that was clearly used and hasn't been washed yet. Even his cups look like it cost millions, scaring me once again.

"So your [N/N], am I correct?" Hawks spoke again.

"Yea?"

He stood up, peering at me, his gaze was unsettling, something that would truly fit a villian. I darken my gaze on him too. The silent fight of dominance continued on. Until he suddenly smirked? Expression changing way too fast for a normal person. Which was also a sign of being bipolar.

"Any hidden intentions you want to tell me?"

I cocked a brow at him, "And if I did why would I tell you?" Wondering if he was stupid for asking such a question.

He opened his mouth, gasping and slapped his hand over his mouth. Like it was news to him or something . . . I silently hope it wasn't. Pondering if this was the hero everyone was depending on. But of course he wasn't actually acting like an idiot. He was one.

"Right . . ." Tapping his fingers on the table, "I forgot about that."

I deadpanned.

Opting to not bother this birdbrain. He totally lives up to his name if you're wondering. I picked up the dirty cups on his table and brought them to the sink. Anything was better than speaking with him. The thought of losing majority of my braincells by the end of the day looks traumatizing.

"Thanks love."

His voice came out as a whisper.ย  I looked over at him, confused when I saw he was looking at me too with a big smile. Nodding softly, I went back to washing the cups, also feeling nice I decided to brew him a cup of coffee. He must've been sleep deprived and the coffee might help him reach redemption.

Placing the freshly brewed cup down on his desk, a safe distance between his keyboard and mouse. Careful for any spills. He hummed looking at me working diligently, still typing. I walked away from him and went to the desk he had set up for me.

One glance at my desk, I could already imagine a future with me crying my eyes out from the sheer amount of work. How could someone leave so much unfinished paper work on a desk. Opening the desktop first, hoping that'll I'll have less work on there. Just to be met face to face with unanswered emails, mostly from fans but business emails as well.

" I might die." I whispered, face morphing into dread.

"A lot right?" He agreed with me, like he wasn't the one that assigned me this work.

I went back to working, completely blocking him out.

"Okay sorry. I know you can't get enough of the handsome face."

"Who says your handsome?" I muttered underneath my breath.

"What did you say?"

"Nothing..."

Little did I know, Hawks heard everything.

"Oh, also you won't be working here forever. They're still trying to set up your office, which is the room next to mines. But aren't you happy you get to spend time with your favorite hero for a few days."

He waited for me to say something, but it was absolutely silent. Sweat dropping at how I was ignoring him he went back to tying too. I snickered behind the screen at how he was such adorable idiot.

"[N/N], let's walk home after. It gets very dark very early since its winter."

He didn't allow me to respond and thinking about his character, whatever I say wouldn't change his mind at all.Sighing, I prepared myself for a long, hard and busy day. But surprising, it went by very fast.

"Ready to go?"

The winged man sounded quite tired himself. Couldn't blame him, he was engrossed in his emails and files, whatever he was doing. But his witty demeanor was somehow still in tack. He had a cheeky grin, almost reaching his eyes. How could someone be so energetic all the time?

"Alright. Let's go-" I yelped, the feeling of being lifted up. Instantly, my instincts kicked in and I started to thrash around in his arms. Only shutting up when he jumped out of the window, both us us free falling. "Hawks!"

He flashes me a smile, snaking his arms around my waist and turned us around so that he was the one that was beneath me. His grip tightened and at this point I couldn't do anything but to trust him. Relaxing underneath his touch, focusing on how light my body felt in the air and how refreshing the breeze felt. I leaned back onto his chest, enjoying the warmth.

"Ha, finally."

He flapped his wing. One swift flap stopped both of us from falling. I tilted my head to the side, looking at him with a puzzling look and some astonishment.

"I got you to relax!"

"Anyone would be stiff and scared if you ran out with them and jumped out a window from the top floor." I reasoned with him and watched as he rolled his eyes at my statement. I sighed and combed my hand through his hair. It was unbelievably fluffy and smooth. "Thanks though."

Breaking out in a proud smile he chuckled. It ringed in my ears as we continue to fly towards somewhere, this time not as tense as before.

"Welcome."

We arrived at a random building I had pointed at as my 'house'. Remembering last minute that I was still undercover. He placed me down, waiting for my feet to reach the ground before releasing his hold on me.

Fixing myself up, we bid goodbye. I watch as he flew out of my view before walking to the direction of the base. Wanting to plop on my bed and take a big fat nap. Walking past a certain alleyway, my ears perked up at the sound of heavy breaths. The closer I got I could hear raspy screams, and a panicked voice. Eyes widening at the smell of blood and smoke.

I peaked out from the corner, accidentally catching the woman's attention. She reached out to me. Now I could see how she was missing both of her legs and a hand. I hummed, she was already gonna die anyways, she was losing too much blood.

The familiar sensation of flames dancing in the palms of my hands to the fingertips and down my arms, made me smile happily. It's been so long since I had used my quirk like this. One second later, the woman body was on fire, slowly burning away.

"Shit I was too slow again."

Glancing at my brother with a look, "You always do things too slowly."

His cheeks were puffed out into a pout as he looks at me, "It's called torture."

"Talking about torture, these shoes are killing me."

"Want me to carry you back?"

I quirked a brow, "Do I look like a kid?" I watched as he accepted his defeat, " The base is only three streets away. I can handle it."

He hummed, extending his arms towards me. I smiled, grabbing it and we walked back, hand in hand in comfortable silence.

It only lasted for a while before I bumped into a pole. I scrunched my face together at the pain and rubbed my forehead, already feeling a bump coming in. Dabi on the other hand had let go of my hands a long time ago. He was losing it, hands over his stomach as he laughed his ass off.

"Fuck you."

Dabi couldn't even form a coherent sentence, still laughing his ass off. I rolled my eyes and kicked open the door, catching everyone's attention. Dabi stumbled in behind me and before anyone could question why he was laughing so hard and why I had a slight bump on my forehead he was on the floor rolling around.

I irked, having enough. I kicked in the balls.

This time I wasn't the one being laughed at.
