The rose was all she thought was pretty. No other flower was as brilliant and beautiful as the rose was. The way Pearl would stare at it in her hands and twirl it around was obvious. She saw the rose as the best flower. The best person.

You liked roses however they were not anything like Lilies or Sunflowers or even Lilacs! Of course to Pearl these flowers were nothing but a waste of earth.

You and Pearl were in a relationship and you loved her. However you do not believe she loved you. At first it was nothing but small comments towards your completion. She would compliment you on how you looked and so on and you were touched that she had noticed these things but after sometime you began to realize something.

She was trying to see you as Rose.

You did not want to believe it at first but her compliments were starting to twist into comments like;

"Your hair is just as soft as hers was"
And
"Your eyes remind me so much of Rose's"
And other comments like that. And when she said 'I love you' it felt as though she was trying to convince herself that she did love you.

Through your ignorance though Pearl had tried seeing you as someone else. She tried to see you as an individual. She knew what she was doing yet it was hard for her to stop. She knew she was hurting you. She should have seen you as your own person. You were not like rose. That was obvious. You did not have her luscious pink curly hair but you did have your beautiful (colour) hair that framed your face perfectly. You did not have her eyes but you did have astonishing (colour) eyes that sparkled any time she would talk about her history and best of all you had a smile that rose could never beat.

Yes Pearl did love rose but now... Now she loved you. It was correct you were not rose... In a way...
