Kid could feel the eyes of a stranger on the back of his head. He turned to see who it was but everyone was minding their own business. They didn't even seem to notice he was there. He was just another person in this sea of fish. He turned back around but felt the eyes again. He whipped around, hoping to catch the person off guard but once again, no one was looking. He huffed, looking away before quickly turning. His eyes met yours. You were seated further away, sitting on a bench with a cup in your hands. You quickly looked away, staring down at the cup. He pushed his way through the crowd, he really didn't need too, everyone moved away from him. He loomed over you half glaring.

"Why were you staring?" He asked, his voice deep and rough. He sounded like he was growling more than talking. You jumped slightly but looked up to meet his eyes.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to stare. It's just..." you tailed off. He raised an eyebrow, waiting for you to continue. "You look like you have an interesting story is all. The scar on your face makes you look really cool. Not many interesting people come around here. I'm sorry for staring. I hope you'll forgive me" you said before looking down at your cup dejected. He raised both his eyebrows. He didn't expect you to say such a thing. He never expected someone like you too. You wore a pesto green skirt coupled with a ruby red shirt. Your voice was gentle, filled with nothing but honesty and kindness. Perhaps that's why he found himself sitting down beside you and asking,

"What would you like to know?" Your eyes seemed to light up and you bombarded him with questions. He was bombarded with questions as he tried his best to answer your questions.

"Wow!" You gasped as he told you about one of his most recent adventures. You sounded so generally interested that the end of his lips twitched into a cheeky grin. "That's so cool! I wish I could do something like that!" You laughed as you leaned closer to him "you're so cool Mister!"

"The names Kid. Listen, I've gotta go. It's gettin' dark and my crew is probably anxious to leave" he said as he slowly stood up. You frowned as you nodded solemnly. He frowned slightly as he stood up.

"Promise that you'll come back again to tell me some more stories? I never meet anyone as fun as you." He sent you a small smile before ruffling your hair.

"I promise kid. Stay safe, study, you know all that" he said before waving to you and leaving you standing there.
