She raked her hands through her hair as she tried to calm down.

She had failed.

Failed so miserably.

She saw you in the crowd in the middle of her performance and panicked. She had messed up and had left the stage humiliated.

A knocked echoed through the room she was in and she turned to look at you. She dropped her hands to her side and sent you a nervous laugh.

"(Name)! What are you doing here?" She questioned and you held a bouquet of flowers.

"I came to give you these" you smiled at her and her heart skipped a beat. She slowly reached out and took the flowers. Her face flushed as she hugged the flowers against her.

"Thank you (Name)" You grinned and shook your head.

"No need to thank me. You were amazing out there!" You exclaimed and she held back a sigh. "I mean- before you kinda messed up. What happened?" You asked and she quickly looked away.

"Nothing!" She said nervously. "I just made a mistake" she moved away from you to grab her case.

"You don't usually make mistakes that bad" you said tilting your head while following her. "You seemed to be anxious about something. Is everything alright?" You asked carefully and she nodded while she picked up her case. "Do you really not trust me?" You frowned and followed her out the door. "Was it me?" You questioned and she froze before glancing at you.

"No of course not!" She said quickly.

"So it is..." You said quietly her eyes widened and quickly shook her head. "I saw you look at me right before you messed up. I was hoping it was just a coincidence but I guess it wasn't" you shoved your hands in your pockets. "I'm sorry." You said before moving past her.

"Wait!- (Name)!" She reaches out and grips your arm. "You have it all wrong!" She exclaims as she puts her case and the bouquet of flowers on the ground. You turned to look at her as she looked at you with desperation. "I did mess up when I saw you but not because I hate you or anything! Really- it's because I-" she stopped to take a deep breath and look at you with confidence "it's because I like you." She confessed and the two of you stood in silence before you wrapped your arms around her and laughed.

"I like you too Kaori" you said and kissed her as she caressed your cheeks.
