Jack Frost X Reader (Rise of the Guardians)

This would be easier if we had (Name) with us" Tooth said as she stared at the globe. The small flecks of lights were decreasing. Tooth sighed sadly. Baby tooth flew to her shoulder and gently nuzzled into her cheek in a sense of comfort. "Thank you" Tooth whispered as she looked over at baby tooth. Bunnymund placed a furry hand on her shoulder.

"Yea" He whispered. Sandy looked at the two with a crestfallen smile. Jack stared up at North who too held a solemn expression. He then looked over at the rest of them. Who were they even talking about?

"Who's (Name)" He asked. Bunnymund turned to look at him. He stared at Jack with confusion and then anger.

"Who's (Name)!?" He scoffed at the male. "She was the exact opposite of you mate" He glared at him. "Used 'ta bring spring early for me. She was a sweet."

"Was she another guardian?" Jack question and this time Sandy shook his head. He made signs but when it was clear that Jack didn't understand what he was saying the two of them looked over to Tooth.

"No. A friend. A very good friend." Tooth said as she finally turned to Jack. A doleful expression present on her face. North exited the room and Jack wondered if this was a subject that shouldn't be discussed about. However within moments North was back and in his hand, a picture frame. Jack watched as North stood beside the young boy and held it so Jack could see it. There, in the picture, stood five figures. On the far left Bunnymund held a large smile as his hand was placed on the shoulder of Tooth who grinned at the camera. Her arm was around the waist of a girl with (colour) hair. She was smiling like there was no tomorrow. In her arms she was holding Sandy who didn't seem to mind needing the help of the female to be seen in the photo. North stood to the girls right and he held his usual smile. His arm was wrapped around the girl. The photo gave out a happy vibe to it. He wondered if it was the fact that you were in it or because everyone was happy.

"What happened to her?" Jack asked looking up at North.

"Pitch happened" Bunnymund growled out. Tooth shot a look to the large bunny.

"We don't know that!" She exclaimed in desperation. She took the picture frame out of North's hands.

"She wouldn't just up and disappear!" Bunnymnd exclaimed. Sandy watched with a dejected look on his face while North placed a hand on Bunnymund's shoulder.

"Let's not just to conclusions" He said with a joyful smile. He leaned closer to Bunymund before whispering, "You're making Tooth upset" He pulled away and looked back to the globe.

"She was able to fight against Pitch. It never made sense that she wasn't a guardian." Tooth sighed as she continued to stare at the picture.

"She was able to fight against Pitch!?" Jack exclaimed. "I thought Sandy was the only one who could do that!"

"Ahh yes..." Bunnymund closed his eyes and smiled as if he was recalling a fond memory. "She an' Sandy were amazin' together. Ya should of seen 'em. She had a weapon, a bow an' arrow. She used to cover it in the dream dust and shoot Pitch from afar." He laughed. "We had him running for the hills."

"She was- what did they always refer to her as?" Tooth asked. "We always called her (Name) but the humans called her something else. What was it?" She asked looking at the others for help. Sandy jumped up and began to make signs.

"Adult plant?" Jack said confused. Sandy sighed and looked at him with an irritated expression. Jack shrugged it off and North jumped up.

"Mother Nature!" He laughed. "She acted more like a child" They all stopped when they saw the globe become covered by a mist of black dust. "Let's go" He said. Tooth gently placed the picture down and as they ran off Jack stayed behind for just one second to stare at the picture.

(Name)... For some reason that sounds familiar...

He turned slowly before following the rest of them to North's sleigh.

This wasn't happening Jack though as he stared at all the eggs surrounding him. They were destroyed. Crumpled. No one would believe in the Easter bunny, no one would believe in the tooth fairy and no one would have any sweet dreams. There was no more Sandman. It was his job to protect them... But now, as he stood in the middle of the disaster he wasn't there to stop he saw them all stare at him with anger and sadness. In his hand held his teeth. They held his memories. Tooth couldn't look at him. He couldn't even look at her to be honest. So he left. He flew away. He couldn't stand there. Not with them staring at him with disappointment evident in their eyes.

So naturally, he found himself in the coldest place he could think of. He just wanted to throw them away. He just wanted to get rid of them, but he couldn't... He couldn't. He stared at the container. He sighed and closed his eyes.

"I thought this might happen..." The voice of Pitch echoed lightly throughout the empty snow ridden land. "They never really believed in you. I was just trying to show you that...That I understand" Pitch finished as he looked up at Jack. Jack turned around. All he could see was red. He flew at pitch and attempted to attack Pitch. He easily dodged it by making a shield out of his own nightmare dust.

"You don't understand anything!" Jack yelled as he attempted to, once again, attack Pitch. He made a shield out his dust and glared at the boy. The fight continued. Jack angrily threw attacks at Pitch who attempted to reason with him. Jack found himself holding his staff at Pitch ready to attack.

"I know what it's like to not be believed in. To... long for a family." Jack stared at him in surprise. Slowly, he lowered his staff. Pitch continued, "All those years in the shadows... I thought no one knows what this feels like" He lifted his head to look at Jack. He motioned to him. "But now I see I was wrong." Jack lowered his staff completely and allowed it to fall back to his side. Pitch took this as a sign to move forward. "We don't have to be alone Jack. I believe in you. And I know children will too" Pitch said as he stood by Jack's side.

"In me?" Jack asked, looking at the ground. Pitch grinned opening his arms.

"Yes!" He laughed before he wrapped his arm around the boy and motioned up to the statue that was made out of nightmare dust and ice. Something that the two of them had created while fighting. "Look at what we can do!" He walked backwards. "What goes better together than cold and dark!" He exclaimed raising his hands back to the statue. He circled around the statue. "We can make them believe! We'll give them a world where everything, everything is-"

"Pitch Black?" Jack finished his sentence leaning closer to Pitch.

"-And Jack Frost too." He said while pointing to the younger boy. "They'll believe in both of us"

"No. They'll fear both of us" Jack said as he took a step forward glaring at the male. "And that's not what I want" Jack finished before he turned around. Not interested in anything that Pitch had left to stay. "Now for the last time. Leave me alone"

"Very well" Pitch sneered. "You want to be left alone? Done. But first-"Pitch held up his hand where Baby tooth was in. He began crushing the small tooth fairy. He whipped around as he began to hear the fairy began to cry out.

"Baby tooth!" He said moving to where Pitch stood. He pointed his staff towards Pitch.

"The staff Jack!" He yelled. Jack stared at him. He wanted his staff? He looked at his staff. "You have a bad habit at interfering. Now hand it over and I'll let her go" He said looking over to his hand. Jack stood there as he heard the cries for him to not hand his staff over. Slowly, he turned it over for Pitch to take the end. Pitch took it with a smirk playing on his face.

"Alright... Now let her go" jack said glaring at Pitch. Pitch stopped before looking at Jack straight in the eye.

"No. You said you wanted to be alone. So be alone" He exclaimed. Just as he did so the fairy stabbed into Pitch's hand with her nose. He let out a surprised yell and threw the fairy.

"No..." Jack said looking over to where Baby tooth had been thrown. He turned to look at Pitch and watched in desperation as Pitch broke his staff. He let out a yell of pain before Pitch threw his black dust at him. Jack slammed into a nearby wall of ice and slid down it. Pitch laughed before he threw the broken pieces of his staff into the small cavern where Jack had fallen into.

As Jack groggily opened his eyes he looked at his surroundings. He called out to the fairy before crawling towards it. He took the fairy in his hands and it sneezed. He felt a pang of guilt hit him.

"Sorry. All I can do is keep you cold." He slowly sat up. "Pitch was right.... I make a mess of everything" He said looking at the ground with a dejected look. He watched as the Fairy dived into his pocket. Jack frowned and slowly leaned on the wall. Jack yelped at the sound of his name being called multiple times. He yanked the case that held his teeth, his memories out. He stared at it and then back at Baby tooth. She nodded and placed her small hand on it. He pressed the triangular button and watched as his memories flowed around him.

He saw a few of his sister but a few of his memories stood out:

His cries echoed through the forest. He was lost. His mother warned him but he hadn't listened. He walked around the cold. He didn't understand why it wasn't spring yet. He could probably find his way back to the village if it had just been spring. The trails were easier to see when knee-high snow was stopping him. He cried out again. Fear overtook him as he began to see the shadows moving. Soon enough he was sobbing. He threw his face into his hands and shook. Then he slowly turned around when he heard a voice.

"Are you lost?" A young girl stood not too far away from him. Despite it being so cold out she wore no shoes. She wore a cloak that was a dark brown colour, along with a long flowing green dress that had all kinds of flowers. The dress stopped just before it hit your heels. He stared at her in awe. She crouched down. He quickly nodded, whipping away his tears.

"I was in my village and then I got lost" He informed her as he looked up at the women. She smiled sweetly at the boy.

"I see, I see" She stood up and held out her hand. "I know the way to your village. I'll guide you back" She told him. He grinned and hastily took her hand and began to walk with her. When it became evident to her that the younger boy had trouble walking and that he was cold she took her cloak off and draped it over the boy's shoulders before picking him up. "There we go. All good" She chimed before continuing to walk away. He looked up at her and was surprised to see her glaring at some of the shadows that were scattered throughout the woods. The boy wrapped his arms around her neck and closed his eyes.

"Jack! Dear! What are you doing laying on the floor?!" His mother exclaimed. He stared up at her in confusion. He looked down and saw that he was indeed laying on the floor. Was it just a dream? He wondered. "And what is with that old looking blanket?" His mother asked. Jack looked at the piece of clothing that had been placed over him. His eyes widened.

"Mommy! I met a pretty lady last night!" He exclaimed. At first his mother looked terrified. But as he began to explain the events his mother gently picked him up.

"Well Jack. Aren't you lucky? You met the spirit of spring" His mother chimed. "You best keep that piece of clothing close to you. It's good luck" She winked at him. He grinned and held the article of clothing close by. He couldn't help but let out a cheerful yell as he looked outside the window to see that the snow had melted and flowers began to grow.

"-And then the witch jumped out and grabbed the child before dragging him back into the forest!" Jack finished his story, making all the children around him scream out in terror. Some of them laughed before Jack poked the fire with a stick. "Alright! I think that's enough for tonight!" Jack happily exclaimed. Run on home" He grinned at the children who nodded and all began to grab their things. There were some groans of disapproval he silenced them with a "What would your parents do if you stayed out later then you were supposed to". As the children began to walk away from the fire Jack took a deep breath and grabbed a bucket. He was going to need to need water if he was going to put the fire out. As he trailed down the path to the lake he whistled a small tune to calm his nerves. The forest was eerily quiet. His hand whipped around. He swore he had seen a shadow move. He clutched the cape that he had since he was a child.

"Huh. I don't remember it that way" His head whipped around to see you standing there. He threw the bucket at you in surprise. You caught it with both of your hands. He then stared at you before pointing at you.

"Y-you!" He exclaimed his hand shaking slightly.

"Me?"

"You!" He repeated and you laughed.

"I'm glad to see you're putting my cloak to good use" You smiled at the boy and held out the bucket. He stared at the clothing article.

"I'm sorry! Do you want it back?" He asked and you shook your head. You walked closer to him.

"No I'm happy to see you still have it. May I please walk with you?" You asked and he eagerly nodded. You happily hopped beside him as the two of you walked together.

"Is spring coming?" He asked. Hoping to start break the awkward silence. Well it was awkward for you.

"Yes. That's why I'm here actually." You grinned. He smiled as well. Although he enjoyed the winter he had to admit he loved the spring. "So what's up with that story? Am I a witch in your eyes?" You asked. His face turned a bright red and as he began to mumble apologies you laughed and shook your head. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Jeez kid" You shake your head, a smile still evident on your facial features. As the two of you walked towards the pond he took the chance to ask you all types of questions that he had been wondering.

Why did you help me? Why were you in the forest that night? Why did you give me your cloak? Why were you listening to my story? And finally,

"How did you become the spirit of the spring?" That question left you shock. You stared up at him before looking down with a forlorn expression. Had he asked a far too personal question?

"I died. Well that part's obvious. But I died protecting someone I loved from being killed." You looked at him. "When I finally woke up from my death the person I cared for had already grown up. They had already come to terms with my death and no longer believed in me." You closed your eyes before looking up at him. "But now! Now so many people believe in me! I love your village especially! Everyone believes in me!" You say happily before skipping. You scooped up some water when you reached the pond.

On the way back Jack tried his hardest to make you laugh. He jumped on branches of the trees as you watched. He flipped around and hung upside down. He made stupid jokes. He jumped up and clicked his heels together which made you laugh. He grinned, looking over at you.

"Well I suppose this is where we depart." You say staring at where the fire stood. You held out the bucket of water for him to take.

"Wait!" You looked up at him and he stared at you.

"What's your favourite flower?" He asked and you stared at him.

"Ah... that's hard. I love all kinds of flowers. I practically make them." You said and he nodded. "What's yours?" You asked and he thought.

"Snapping Dragons! I like being able to grab the sides and make their 'mouths' move" He said and you laughed as his childish demeanor.

"I'll keep that in mind" You chimed before wishing him a goodnight.

The next morning snapping dragons of all colours were surrounding his house.

"You're leaving?"

"I'm always leaving. How is this different from any other time?" You asked, laughing. Jack frowned and leaned against the tree. He had been wanting to tell you something for so long but he hadn't had the guts to do so and now. Now you were leaving.

"Yea- but usually you only leave for until spring. You visit in between but you're saying you're leaving for a full year. No visits. Why? What's so important that you can't visit?" He asked and your lips twitched downward for a moment before smiling again. You looked away from him.

"I have to deal with a particularly annoying leech" You said, using a rather harsh tone. A scowl was present on your lips. "I don't know how long it will take but if he knows that I'm talking with a human he'll use you against me. He'll try and hurt you."

"I'm strong (Name)!"

"I'm not saying you aren't. I'm saying that there is a man who is much older than you or me who's on the loose. He's much stronger than any human Jack" You tell him. He huffs and leans further into the tree. At times he reminds you so much of a young child. "I'll be back before you know it" You told him before turning your back to the boy. He shot towards you and wrapped his arms around your waist. He held you closer and at this time you couldn't help but think about how much he has grown over the past few years. He was as tall as you.

"I like you. I really like you" He said as his grip tightened around you. "I know you may hate me for it but I like you"

"Oh Jack" You loosened his grip on your waist so you could turn to face him. "Oh Jack" You repeated. "Jack you're so much younger than me. Like by hundreds of years. I'm going to live for a very long time but you- you have such a sort life span. You need to live Jack. Fall in love with someone who can love you back." You took Jack's face in your hands. You placed a small kiss on his cheek. "I'm sorry Jack. Goodbye" You whispered. His heart broke when he saw you looked like you were on the verge of tears. Before you could say anything you were gone.

You never did return.

Jack jumped up holding his head. He couldn't believe he had a sister and you! He knew you! He loved you!

"I have a sister! And (Name)! I knew her!" He said as he looked at Baby Tooth. He has to get to Jamie. Before anything else can be done or said he's off.

The fight is over. They have won, the kids were laughing, running around, playing. They were having fun. Jack stood there and he thinks about you. You were after Pitch before you left. He wondered if Pitch had anything to do with it. He wonders if he should tell them. Tell them about you but he keeps quiet. For now it's not important.

Jack is wondering around the North Pole when he hears Tooth suddenly shriek. In a matter of second he is looking at North and Tooth hugging a girl. She looks young with (colour) hair. He doesn't see her face but he does recognize them. North and Tooth pull away. Tooth looks as if she's on the verge of crying but she holds it in. North is over to the side attempting to contact Bunnymund and Sandman.

"Where have you been?" Tooth asks as she holds your shoulders. You smile and place your hands on her smaller ones.

"I was attacked by Pitch all those years ago- I think he kept me asleep until you guys defeated him. I came as soon as I could" You told her and she pulled you into another hug. She was crying this time.

"Jack! It's good you have come! This is (Name)!" North introduces you two. You think about how much you have missed his thick accent as you let go of Tooth. You two look at each other and Jack is frozen. He looks you over. Your dress is old and tattered. The flowers that had once decorated your dress are dead you have dirt and injuries of all sorts littered across your skin.

"Jack...?" You call out carefully. "It's nice to-"

"(Name)!" Bunnymund yells as he bounds towards you and holds you in his arms. Sandy follows quickly after. Bunnymund pulled away to look you over and Sandy took this chance to hug you. You wrapped your arms around Sandy. Bunnymund kept his hands on your arms. "It's good to see you." Bunnymund patted your cheek before looking over to North.

"It's good to see you Bunny, you too Sandy" You say as you let go of Sandman. "I've missed you all so much." You say and questions are asked. You can barely answer any of them. It's Jack's voice that causes everyone to stop and look at him.

"You left. " He's just standing there as he stares at you.

"Jack... I..." Before you can say anything else he wraps his arms around you.

"(Name)?" Tooth asks carefully as if the subject is a sensitive one. It's more complicated than anything.

"For over 300 hundred years" He says before pulling away. He keeps you at arm's length, his hands on your upper arms. "I thought you were dead..."

"I'm sorry Jack. You've grown." You tell him as you measure yourself to him. He wants to change the conversation back to the original topic but you ignore his attempts. "Last time I saw you, you were my height." You say before patting his cheek. "I've missed you. It's been too long. To all of you" You say, turning to look at the rest of them. Tooth rubs at her eyes as she tries to hold back tears.

"This is going to be one hell of a story to tell them later." You whisper to Jack. He grins and wraps his arms around your waist.

"We'll tell them later, right now, I want to catch up on lost time" He says before he wizzes away with you in his arms. Not before he hears a few yells of discontent from the others.
