You were a child. A sweet, innocent, child. You didn't belong here, you didn't belong in the fight and you most certainly not in this man's arms. He held your hand with uncertainty as he stared ahead. Gon and Killua stared at the two of you.

"Hey... Who's that?" Gon asked as he pointed to you. You took a step behind Hisoka and he couldn't help but take some pride in that. Your hand still held his hand as you stared at Gon and Killua from behind him. 

"This is (Name)" He looked down and smiled at you before motioning for you to step out from behind him. "I'm (Name)'s..." He paused thinking of the right word "Mentor?" He questioned as he looked at the two with uncertainty. 

"Are you sure you're capable of taking care of a child?" Killua questioned as he stared at you. Gon grinned, crouching down so that he was your height.

"Half the time I'm taking care of you two," Hisoka said as he raised his eyebrows. He took note of how your hand clutched his just a little tighter as Gon leaned closer to you. His eyes shown brightly with excitement. Despite crouching down he seemed to be bouncing on the balls of his feet.

"My name is Gon" He said, a large grin spread across your face as you turned to look at Hisoka. He sent you a reassuring smile, letting you know that it was okay, that Gon was okay, before nodding in Gon's direction.

"Hello," You said, sending Gon a small smile. Gon whipped around to look at Killua his grin widening even more as he pointed to you.

"Killua did you see that?!" Killua smiled and nodded before walking over next to Gon and crouching down as well.

"Hello. I'm Killua" He said as he held out his hand to take. Hisoka nodded again when he saw you glance up at him. You smiled and gently took Killua's hand in your own.

"Hello, my name is (Name)" you introduced softly and they couldn't help but melt at your sweet voice. 

"I feel as though I've lost somehow" Hisoka confessed as he watched you happily talk with Gon. Killua shook his head. He watched the two of you laugh as Gon told you some silly story.

"No... (Name)'s been asking where you went all day. You shouldn't be leaving all the time. (Name) always seems... anxious until you get back" Killua confessed as he looked over to Hisoka. "Now, go" Hisoka didn't need to be told. He crossed the distance between the two of you and happily called out your name. 

"Hisoka!" You chimed as you turned to face him, making Gon pout. He was just about to get to the best part! You got up and ran to the man who held his arms open for you. You jumped into his open arms and he held you close, spinning the two of you around. 

"How was your day?" He questioned and you went on about stories Gon and Killua shared with you. He listened and looked at you with so much love and care that Gon and Killua almost didn't recognize him for a second. So they watched, they watched closely at the two of you. You were in his arms as you grinned, talking about your day while he listened intently a gentle smile graced his lips as he stared at you.

"Wow..." Gon whispered as he stood closer to Killua. The boy beside him nodded in agreement. The man that stood only a few feet away from you almost seemed like a completely different person than who they knew.

"Yeah"
