Hikaru X Reader (Ouran High School Host Club)

"Please go out with me (Name)!" Hikaru said as he gripped your hand. His eyes boring into yours, pleading with you. You frowned, you had known the boy for a little over six months now. He had always been one to express his feeling more openly but this was... strange.

"Hikaru..." Your voice filled with confusion. You slowly pulled your hand out of his grip, your eyes going everywhere but his. He frowned, eyes still looking at you as his hands fall to his side.

"Do you really not like me? I've seen the way you look at me or was I just kidding myself?" He whispered the last part to himself as he clenched his hands into fists. You shook your head.

"That's not it Hikaru..." You finally looked at him, nervously rubbing your hands together as you stared into his eyes, "Hikaru I'm older than you. I' in my last year of high school. I only have a few months left before I graduate. Then I'm going to University in America for a while. Starting this... wouldn't it be hard? Not just for me but for you as well."

"We can video call each other and I can visit you on the weekends," He said, desperately trying to convince you. You sighed, looking away once again. "Just one date. Then you decide but please- just one date." He pleaded, causing you to look at him.

"Fine, but just one." Hikaru nodded eagerly before he began talking about when and where.

He's shy and stiff as the two of you walk down the street together. He acts as though this is the first time the two of you have ever talked. You decide that it's the situation that causes his body to go rigid.

"So..." you start, "How's school?"

He laughs and the date starts from there.

"I heard there is a new game shop near by," He says as he rolls his shoulders, trying to act more relaxed despite his nervousness.

"Let's check it out!" You say, and decided to make this date official, and hopefully, make him feel more relaxed, you wrap your arm around his own, a smile gracing your facial features as you pulled him along. He follows, not hesitating to match your speed as the two of you talk naturally.

"Check out this game," He says, holding it up. You lean closer to the plastic cover, reading the words over before grinning.

"Wow! I've heard this game is really good." You look up to him, "Have you played it before?" He shook his head.

"No, but my brother's been talking about it non-stop. I didn't know they had released it." He paused as if thinking things over. "I think I'll get it for him." You nod in agreement.

"He'd love it"

Your date is nice. The two of you spend the rest of the afternoon walking around town, you two even go so far that you end up on the other side of town. The two of you decide to stop at a cafe before ending the date. Just so he can spend more time with you, he walks you home and when the two of you are at your front of your house he stops in front of the stairs.

"I hope you had as much fun as I did" He said, voice gentle, careful. You smile sweetly at his words. You nod in agreement.

"I enjoyed it. I really did" You say. He nods, silence consuming the two of you before he speaks again.

"I would like to try this. I want to work things out between us. I don't care where you go." He looks at you, his eyes pleading. "Will you give me a chance?" You purse your lips together for a moment before slowly nodding.

"I'd like to try it too." You say and he reaches for your hands. his thumb trailing over them.

"I'll see you monday" He says before leaning over and kissing you on the cheek. In a second, he's gone and your left on your front stairway a blushing mess as you walk up the stairs to your front door.
