Armin X Reader (Attack On Titan)

A/N: takes place in modern time yo
------------------
The conversation between Mikasa and Eren was just white noise as his attention focused on you.

You were in two of his classes. A beautiful (coloured) hair beauty who was intelligent. You were quiet but listened, or it seemed like you did. You never noticed he was there, he was only a shadow or perhaps to you he was only white noise as he spouted out answers to questions. He wondered if you even knew him.

He knew you. But in a way that felt nostalgic
He felt like he had known you for a
Much longer time than he could recall. A name to a person he once knew, loved maybe. A face he couldn't quite remember.

"Armin!" The girl exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around his waist and placed a quick kiss on his lips. "You were amazing, Armin!"

"Armin. It's our stop" Eren said as he shook the boy. Armin turned his attention to his friend before glancing back at the doors to see you slip out.

"Right- lets go" he followed Mikasa and Eren as they walked off of the subway.

"I have to stay after class" Eren said as he shoved his books into his bag. "Sorry." Eren sent Armin an apologetic look before turning and walking away. He turned to Mikasa in hopes of her joining him home.

"Sorry- I have a club meeting today" Mikasa leaned over and ruffled Armin's hair. "Head home. We'll see you soon" she waved to him as she walked away.

"Okay. Good luck Mikasa" Armin said as he gripped the straps of his bag. He sighed, letting his shoulders sag. He didn't want to go home alone.

When he got on the bus he sat in his usual spot and waited for the subway to start. His eyes automatically traveled to your figure as you sat a few seats away from him. He watched as your fingers tapped away on your phone.

He tried to look at his own phone and distract himself most of the trip. However, as though the gods were either blessing him or cursing him, when everyone else had left and it only left the two of you in the subway car it suddenly came to a screeching halt. He gasped and grabbed the pole closest to him. He quickly looked over to you. Your hand gripped the pole. The two of you stared at each other before looking away.

"We're sorry for the inconvenience. We will start the subway as soon as we can" the voice called out and Armin noted that he could hear the annoyed sighs from some of the other subway cars.

The two of you sighed in both relief and annoyance before you turned to look at him.

"So is there a reason as to why you stare at me constantly?" You questioned and his face erupted in a bright blush as he fumbled over in his words.

"You remind me of someone I think I once knew!" He said quickly, his voice quavered and you smiled gently at him.

"You think?"

"I'm not too sure." He confessed. "I feel like I know you but- it's kind of hard to tell. It feels as though it's a memory from-"

"Another time? A time much before the one we're in now?" You asked and he eagerly nodded.

"How did you know?" He asked as he slowly moved closer to you. You paused and stared at him wondering if you should tell him.

"It's the same with you. I don't know why but you remind me of someone" he stopped when he thought he was close enough to continue the conversation.

"This is the ocean" the boy exclaimed as he excitedly pointed to the pictures in the gook his grandfather had given him. "One day (Name)." The boy took your hand in his and he looked you in the eye. "I'll bring you to the ocean"

"A distant memory I can't recall" you hummed and Armin nodded eagerly.

"I don't remember much but I think at one point in our lives..." he blushed at the thought and quickly looked away.

"We were together..." you finished. He nodded, glancing at you from the corner of his eye. He clutched his hands together.

"Could I... get to know you a little better?" He asked quietly. You nodded in agreement. The subway car jolted to a start and you both jumped and almost slipped.

"We will now be start moving" the intercom echoed throughout the subway cars. The two of you could hear the collective groans of disapproval from the other cars as it began to move.

"I'd love to." You said, a gentle smile graced your lips and Armin looked you in the eyes.

When the subway came to its first stop Armin grasped your arm and pulled you out of the train. You looked at him with surprise and suspicion.

"I'm up for getting to know you but I really don't feel like walking all the way home from here" you confessed and he laughed sheepishly.

"There is a beach not too far from here. I'm sorry" he said as he grasped the straps of his bag. "I should have asked I'm sorry" he panicked and you quickly shook your head.

"No it's fine. Let's go. Just like you promised right?" You said and he nodded. When he moved to remove his hand from your arm you took it in your hand and intertwined your fingers together. Armin smiled and squeezed your hand.

"Just like I promised."
