Crane (Brad Dourif): Ain't it fascinating Thomas? Any Sevier Case of Anxiety can be set off by fear.

Thomas (David Baxt): I don't see how that's fascinating Johnathan. But it's definitely a psychology feeling.

Crane: Exactly. My results are off the charts!

Thomas: No offense Johnathan but you're a fear nut.

Crane: I can't argue with that. It fascinated me since I was a boy. I always teased my sister with toy spiders it just made me wonder what sets off fear in the first place.

Thomas: It's a trigger emotion. Psychology develop a level of stress compulsion.

Crane: You know your psychology Thomas.

Thomas: I have studied medical history since I was younger myself. Well I better be going to pick Martha up for the magic show with Zatarra.

Crane: Heh you call me a fear nut. But he's a magic nut.

Thomas: No doubt. But since his month old daughter was born the magic was flooding rapidly.

Crane: Indeed. Speaking of....I hear Martha is expecting herself. I meant to congratulate you both.

Thomas: Thanks Johnathan.

Crane: Do you know what to name it yet?

Thomas: Well if its a girl...Martha and I were thinking... Rachel.

Crane: And if it's a boy?

Thomas: I...wanted him to name him Thomas Jr. But....Martha....likes Bruce.

Crane: Bruce huh?  No offense but I agree with Martha that might suit him more than Thomas Jr.

Thomas: You always took her side.

Crane: I have....high respect.

Thomas: Cause you and I were in a triangle with her.

Crane: Hey I introduced you to her.

Thomas and chuckled but Crane dropped his glasses and as he reached for them Thomas happen to spot Crane's journal opened reading about....fear injections and hallucinations

Thomas frowned closely and read it from his position when Crane reached for his glasses under his desk and Thomas reached for it without his colleague noticing and read...all of Crane's experiments

He was in utter horror when Crane got up and saw Thomas reading his research and knew....Thomas learned his secret experiments

Crane: Let me explain.

Thomas: Johnathan...your test subjects...are MY patients. And you performed Hallucination experiments on them?!

Crane: They volunteered Thomas. No harm was done to them. I condoling a new drug that anti personal anxiety.

Thomas: They're innocent people Johnathan. And most of them are in Arkham! The rest....dead. Are you that mad!

Crane: I'm really sorry you had to find out this way.... I'm more sorry...

Crane holds out a needle

Crane: I'm sorry more it had to come to this.

Thomas; What'd you---

Crane suddenly INJECTS Thomas with the needle putting him out

Hours later he woke up restrained to a table

Thomas: What.... Johnathan? What the hell is the meaning of this?!

Crane: It's nothing personal Thomas...at least....not when you learned too much of my experiment subjects.

Thomas: Are insane? John we been friends for a long time. It doesn't have to be like this.

Crane: Friends? FRIENDS?! Is that what we really were Thomas? You Wayne's always take what you want. You wanted something of mine.

Thomas: What'd you talking about.

Crane: Martha.

Thomas: Martha? What does she have to do with this?

Crane: The night I introduced to you to her you wanted her for yourself! When you knew how I felt about her.

Thomas: I didn't steal her from you she made her choice!

Crane: And you still pried her from me.

Crane took another needle with the fear chemical he created

Thomas: Johnathan what'd you doing?

Crane: Weather you're in Arkham Asylum or six feet under.... I'll take good care of Martha....and the baby.

Thomas: You son of a bitch...

He was about to inject him till....

....hearing the door open

It was Martha (Sharon Holm) she was utter shocked of what was happening

Martha: Johnathan!

Crane: Martha?

Thomas: Martha run! Call the police!

Martha: Johnathan...let him go.

Crane: How can you choose him over me Martha! I was in love with you! A Wayne always gets what he wants!

Martha: You think this is about him? You're better than this Johnathan.

Crane: I thought I was...but I can't live in his shadow. With you MARRIED to him for God's sake!

Martha: Johnathan I'm sorry. But don't take this road. Walk away while it's not too late. Bruce needs his father.

Thomas: It's a boy. Dr. Tonkens confirmed it this morning.

Crane faced down sadden and Martha touched his face

Martha: Let him go.

Crane sighs and lets Thomas off the restraining he sits up and Martha hugs him

Martha: Are you ok?

Thomas: I'll live. I'm gonna have Alfred call Zatarra....just want to go home.

Crane: Thomas.... I'm so sorry.

Thomas: Stay away from us you lunatic!

Martha: Thomas!

Thomas: He tried to kill me Martha! He should be locked up in Arkham like his victims!

Crane: I went out of my way Thomas. I'm sorry.

Thomas: You....condemned innocent people to Arkham. Almost made me into one of your lab rats!

Crane: I'll let them go and they'll all be put in your care.

Thomas was just angry but given Crane was meaning well mainly for Martha and remembering they were friends

Thomas: You have them all transferred to Gotham General. And then ...you turn in your resignation at Wayne Enterprises and you never come near me or my family ever again!

Crane: Thomas please.... I need this job. My life's work!

Thomas: You should have thought of that before you tried to kill me. That's the end of the matter Crane!

Crane had lost his friendship in Thomas he looked at Martha who sympathized for him

Crane sadden facing down he knew he now lost everything
