We cut to the Batcave where the Batmobile pulls in

With the two motorcycles behind it

Batman exists the Batmobile removing his mask and walks up to the Batcomputer

Dick removing his mask turning to Barbra removing hers

Dick: Not a bad night's work

Barbara: Except there's a new super villain out there.

Dick: Yeah well....still.

Bruce examined the traces of the toxin from the diner and the results were hard for him to make out

Dick and Barbara came behind him looking at the screen Barbra instantly jumped into her intelligent theories

Barbra: Energetic Hellucination.

Bruce: You know about this?

Barbara: It's a very delicate chemical. But deadly. This toxin rectifies the brain's sencer nerve causing feverish hellucination and mood elevation.

Dick and Bruce looked at her impressed

Barbra: I know my science theories.

Bruce: Something Dick could learn from you.

Dick: Hey! What's that supposed to mean?

Bruce returns to the computer barely acknowledging Dick which uneased him

Bruce: The toxin can't kill you if not exposed to it for too long but it's lethal enough to kill you slowly days before the final effect.

Barbra: You think when the toxin was plunged into that diner it everyone see things?

Bruce: It's starting to be a possibility.

Dick: And what was Knox hallucinating?

Bruce: Jim said they were all afraid. Maybe it made them see things scary for them. Wasn't real but felt real to the victims.

Dick: Like nightmare on Elm Street?

Bruce smirks with a cross eye at him

Dick: What?

Bruce: Nothing. Well now that we know what the toxin is who makes it.

Dick: Any leads?

Bruce: Not yet.

Dick: Well till you do I'm hitting it. You coming Barbra?

Barbra: In a minute. I have to talk to Bruce about something.

Dick was taken back but left the Batcave and Babs turns back to Bruce

Bruce: Everything alright?

Barbara: Yeah. At least I hope so. Bruce.... there's a new kid at campus who...has a hard time paying for his way in. He... doesn't have a good relationship with his father. But he really means well. And I figure since you paid for Dick's college funding. Maybe you can do the same for him?

Bruce: I could but depends. Who is he?

Barbra: Timothy Drake.

Bruce typed in that name and found his backgrounds

Bruce put on his glasses reading Tim's background 

Bruce: "Timothy Drake. Son of Jake and Janet Drake. Age 18. Mother dies from a poison in 89. Jake falls into an addiction of alcoholism after crippled by the incident."

Barbra: The mother was poisoned on 89. You don't think she was of the Joker's victims do you?

Bruce: Turns out she and her husband were at the museum when he poisoned everyone there. The father had a nasty fall off the rail crippling him. He survived but she didn't.

Now Bruce started feeling for Tim too another loss soul in the streets.

Bruce: I'll come by GU tomorrow. Talk to to the boy myself.

Barbra: Thanks Bruce.

Barbra leaves the cave as Bruce went back to the Batcomputer

Bruce examined the toxin result again only to open a drawer and he pulls out a copy of the same picture childhood picture of him and Zatanna like the one she has

He then has a flashback of his own

We go back in time to 1973 where a 16 year old Bruce Wayne comes to the theater where the great Zatarra was performing tonight

Bruce gets out from the backseat after Alfred pulls parks and gets out himself

Alfred: Here hours early I believe sir.

Bruce: We're not here for the show Alfred. I need to learn Zatarra's vanishing acts.

Alfred: Frankly sir I was assuming you were going to ask Ms Zatanna to your school dance.

Bruce: Yeah maybe that too.

The teenage Bruce and Alfred walk in the theater

Inside tonight's show was being set up by Zatarra's coworkers where he sat in one of the front row seats studying one of his tricks on sketch 

Soon Bruce and Alfred came up to him

Soon he noticed

Zatarra: Bruce Alfred what a surprise.

Alfred: Good to see you again Master Zatarra.

Zatarra: We're still setting up for tonight but our doors are always open to you. If you're looking for Zatanna she's in the brake room.

Bruce: Thanks. But I was also hoping to ask a favor.

Zatarra: Course anything you like. What's your favor?

Bruce: I....like to learn a few tricks you have. Like your disappearing acts and.... escape acts.

Zatarra looked at the young Bruce Curious

Bruce: It's....for a school project.

Zatarra: Well I'm sure there's a thing or two I can show you.

Bruce smiles and nods

Bruce: Thanks Mr. Zatarra.

Zatarra: Mr.? Please your father and I were dear friends. We're practically family.

Bruce: Course.

Zatarra pointed the direction where Zatanna is and he made his way to the brake room

Zatanna was sitting on a couch with a coffee and doing her own studies

Bruce walks in grinning and didn't take long for her to notice him in the door way

Zatanna: Bruce?

Bruce: Hi Zat.

She stood up hugging him

Zatanna: I was wondering when you visit. I usually drop by the manor to make sure you don't drop off the roof.

Bruce: I was only having dark times then.

Zatanna: That's a hell of a dark time. You were like a vampire bat.

They chuckle

Zatanna: How's Alfred?

Bruce: Alfred's good. He misses my parents. So do I.

Zatanna: We all loved your parents Bruce.

Bruce: Yeah.

Zatanna: You been adjusting well over the years?

Bruce: In....a way. But I...was wondering.....

She smirks curiously

Bruce: How are you a dancing?

Zatanna: I....know a few. I watched Cinderella a lot as well as the Grey Ghost.

Bruce: Then how would you....like to be my plus one to the charity dance at my school.

Zat smiles as the Flashback ends cutting Bruce still in the Batcave in his thoughts

Up stairs Selina still in the manor actually explored it a bit she even found Bruce's room where she saw a portrait of his parents above his bed

Selina observed them and then looked to her right and saw....a safe

The thieving itch started to tingle

She was soon startled....

....by Dick and Barbra walking in

Dick: YOU!!
