When dawn came upon Gotham news reports came on by Knox 

And Ryder

Selina was now behind bars dissatisfied all she got for crimes was her supposed love interest was who turned her in

Bane was now being secured in a heavy facility.....at Arkham Asylum 

Sadly each time Dick was still keen on leaving Gotham after college and still wants Barbra to come with him but she still can't leave her father especially how he was after getting her back after Freeze kidnapped her....who is still MIA

Bruce still had to be in his wheelchair while not in the advanced bat suit just for a few months according to Lesley

But soon enough Dick and Barbra push Bruce's wheelchair in the parlor where Alfred....stood with his hands behind his back staring out a window 

Bruce: Alfred....? Is everything alright?

Alfred: I never had an easy way to see this.....but...I want start by congratulating all three of you on your upprehandion on Bane. And I'm sure Mr. Freeze will be found sooner or later.

Dick: Thanks Al. 

Barbra noticed there was a suitcase near him

Barbra: Alfred....are you going somewhere?

Bruce: What?

Alfred: I'm sorry sir. But....I feel our mission has just....taken the term for the worse. I can't even Bair what it's done to you....or will do to you later.

Bruce: Alfred I....I don't understand. Why are you leaving? You know I can't do....what we all do....without you.

Alfred: Maybe we don't have to do it at all. I thought for a long while after all after all these years....we fight on put away the criminals save the citizens....but the battle never ends. It just goes on. On and on. 

Bruce: That's why we can't just give up Alfred. What happened to your only regret not being out there with me? 

Alfred: I know I said that. But what I meant was....I wasn't there....to be there for the hero....you really are....that doesn't need a mask. The hero Bruce Wayne was meant to be. The hero Gotham could look up to....more than they could look up to the Batman. 

Dick: What's the deal Alfred? You never been like this.

Alfred: I'm sorry young sir. It's just....seeing Bane....doing what he did to Master Bruce.....it killed me. I stitched him up and set his bones but...I won't bury him like I did his parents. 

Bruce: Alfred....my father never stopped fighting. He gave everything for the city. If we stop....his death would be for nothing. 

Alfred: And that's my point Bruce.

"Bruce" he never said that all his life and it worried him more

Alfred: Your father kept fighting for Gotham's future but the corrupt kept coming for him until....he was gunned down.....along with your mother. And now history is repeating itself. You fight...then fall.

They saw the sadness in Alfred's eyes

Bruce: Alfred I promise that won't happen. I won't suffer my father's fate.

Alfred: How can you keep that promise....as long as you're Batman? As long as any of you.....keep put on the mask.

Barbra: Alfred....my dad would have said the same thing. But he keeps fighting despite his age and he's lasted this long. Still fighting. 

Alfred: So did I Ms. Gordon. So did I. But sooner or later...a never ending battle becomes your downfall. 

Dick wanted to be blunt but unlike he is with Bruce he never had the heart with Alfred

Dick: Alfred....come on....you and Bruce took me in when I lost my parents too. You did so much for me. You and Bruce paid for my college funds. I know I seem ungrateful....and for that I'm sorry.

Alfred: You never need to apologize. 

Bruce: And me?

Alfred: No. It's I who should apologize sir. For letting this go on as long as it did. I failed you my boy. I can only now you'll ever understand why I have to go. 

Barbra cries as Dick faced down when Alfred takes his suitcase he turns to Bruce one last time

Alfred: There are other ways of saving Gotham sir. Your resources and knowledge can more than Batman. But.....like your father.....I know you too well to ever change.

After one last stare....Alfred turns away walking out the door leaving Bruce saddened in his thoughts 

Soon as they heard Alfred's cab drive away they knew he was gone 

Dick: Great...no Alfred a super villain still loose god knows where....what now?

Bruce: We keep fighting. Much as it pains me without Alfred Gotham still needs us. Freeze and Bane weren't the first to threaten Gotham. They won't be the last. 

Barbra tries up her tears

Barbra: Partners then?

Bruce nods and soon the trio see the Batsignal out the window 

Bruce: Let's go to work. 

Cutting in the Batcave the Bat family emerged from the darkness springing into action a new chapter of Batman and Robin's journey begins with a third partner: Batgirl
