Nevertheless, Lin Yiyi finally rolled up her sleeves and cooked up a couple of dishes.

Even though they have had barbeque skewers on their way back, that was, after all, not a proper meal.

The children were still growing and the two adolescent boys, in particular, could eat a lot. They have already had a make-do meal this afternoon. If they didn’t have a proper meal at night, they’d be hungry by the middle of the night.

She definitely wasn’t doing it for Lu Xun!

Ms. Lin Ping and Mr. Gu Yuanchen exchanged a look. With tacit understanding, they decided against telling her that there was food left.

Lin Yiyi nevertheless saw the leftovers after she had finished cooking and went to pull out the sauces from the refrigerator.

Lu Xun waited for Lin Yiyi to walk into the kitchen before he gave Lu Mingzhe an impatient look.

“Why did you step on me earlier?”

He wasn’t even done talking!

At the very minimum, he knew that he was over at someone else’s house and needed to put up the front, so he only asked in a very low volume.

Lu Mingzhe ignored him. Had he let the fool blurt out everything that was on his mind, Lu Mingzhe worried that he’d be tossed out of the house along with him.

After all, their car was still at the amusement park’s parking lot. And the other cars were at home; none of them would be able to help them out right now.

He figured that if his little uncle behaved himself, they just might be able to get a ride back.

Lu Mingzhe walked over to the couch with his hands in his pocket.

And he was chatted up by Ms. Lin Ping.

Ms. Lin Ping was the one asking questions with Lu Mingzhe replying to her from time to time. The two of them seemed to be getting along quite well.

Meng Yuran greeted Housekpeer Zhang-ma and had her notify him when dinner was ready before he headed upstairs to shower and change. He even brought Meng Shanshan with him on his way up.

Lu Xun looked around. Ms. Lin Ping was chatting with Lu Mingzhe. Mr. Gu Chengyi had the cat by the name of Foolish Dog in his arms and he was talking to it. Everybody had formed their little circles, leaving him out, all of his lonesome self.

As such, he pitter-pattered into the kitchen.

Lin Yiyi was very skillful at cooking. She was very efficient when it came to slicing and dicing and her posture when she stir-fried and flicked the frying pan up and down was very attractive.

Lu Xun leaned against the door and watched. He became more and more enchanted as he watched her from behind.

Everybody was the same in this sense, when one looked at the one that they were fond of, everything that she did was attractive. Her weaknesses would be turned into strengths; and her strengths, on the other hand, would be amplified indefinitely.

Lu Xun felt that just watching her cook was like looking at an art piece.

Even a blind person could sense his intense look right now, let alone Lin Yiyi, who had 2020 eyesight.

She took the opportunity when she was plating the food onto the plates to roll her eyes at him and said, “Don’t just stand there and watch. Can you make yourself useful? Come over and help!”

With her command, Lu Xun turned into a summoned demon instantly and headed straight toward her.

As he was carrying the dishes out, he added, “I am also very useful when it comes to eating.”

Lin Yiyi paused for a little before she realized that he was responding to her comment earlier. That only made her want to roll her eyes again.

“Is it fun to say stuff like that?”

Indeed it was! But he dared not say that out loud. Carrying the dish of spicy stir-fried chicken in his hand, he felt a sense of warmth in his heart.

Why would she stir-fry two dishes for him if she didn’t care for him? And both of these were his favorites.
