(168) Yes, That Was Me

Any hot news could easily fetch millions to tens of millions. With some luck, a particularly hot news could possibly fetch up to hundreds of millions.

And that’s what he used to increase his wager.

Sure enough, there was not a single person who has not heard of Brother Spill online.

As soon as he announced a preview to some big news, there was no shortage of people throwing money at him begging him to take them…

This particular gossip was different than the others in that even though one of the two in question was remotely tied to the entertainment circle as the owner of an entertainment company and the other one was a 18th tier actress, the former actress has a very well-known ex-husband, Meng Yan, the film emperor. Plus, there were also rumors that she was the daughter of the wealthy female real estate tycoon. She was no small pawn here.

There wasn’t much to talk about with regards to these two separately.

But when you put the two of them together? Now that was definitely big news!

Lin Yiyi did some search online and the content held a lot of water.

It had glossed over the few times the two companies had worked together. Most importantly, there were pictures of the two of them having seafood together that one time!

By now, even Lu Xun was a bit annoyed about what he had read.

The picture was zoomed out a lot and it was obvious that they were sitting at a seafood booth together at night. There was also a close-up high-definition shot of their faces.

The dinner was not a big deal. The most critical part was that, somehow, Brother Spill had found out about Lin Yiyi’s streaming channel on Yaxing Streaming and Lu Xun’s alias “I hate expressionless faces” that had rained airplanes in Lin Yiyi’s channel…

The CEO was throwing a fit inside of his office.

Executive Assistant Zhou, being weak and helpless, could do nothing but curl up and quiver.

He, too, was upset.

Yaxing was one of their company’s streaming platforms. Meaning, only an internal personal would have the ability to find out who the account belonged to. It was certainly tricky if it involved someone internal.

Lu Xun had Executive Assistant Zhou look into the issue.

Giving it some more thought, he sent Lin Yiyi a message on WeChat, explained the incident to her, and let her know that he was already having someone looking into it and that he’d let her know when he found out anything about it.

Lin Yiyi read the WeChat message but did not respond to him.

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to reply back to him, but that she had no idea what to say to him.

So the “I hate expressionless faces” person who had been raining airplanes in her channel was Lu Xun…

Ever since he had showed up in her streaming channel a month or so ago, he’d send her lots of airplanes every time that he was online, which means that most of Meng Yuran and Meng Shanshan’s tuition came from his generosity.

She was somewhat grateful for that Brother Spill.

If it wasn’t for him, she wouldn’t even find out about this…

This article had secured the top spot on the most trended list.

Even with Lu Xun’s interference in getting the article to drop off the list not too long after, it had still attracted a lot of attention.

Lu Xun came looking for her before her workday was over.

With the entire crew at Xinri looking at him, Lu Xun, with his thick skin, still walked straight into Lin Yiyi’s office as though nothing was happening.

Granted, even though he was there, Lin Yiyi didn’t look like she was too happy with him.

All in all, he was the culprit of all this!

Lu Xun had no idea that her anger has once again been misdirected to him…

That being said, now that he was there, there was something else that she wanted to ask him about.

“You wanted to ask me about what happened in the streaming channel?”

Lu Xun had a pretty good idea what she wanted to talk about as soon as he saw the look on her.

He openly admitted to it. “Yes, that was me.”

Not that he could keep on denying it.

Cat was already out of the bag. What was the point now?

To hide his credit?

No way!

Lin Yiyi kept on staring at him.

“It wasn’t like I was the only one who did it. There were others who did the same. Besides, it wasn’t even that much money. It was less than half of the profit on one of your company’s projects. You really don’t need to worry that much about it.”

At the same moment, Meng Yuran, who was in class, sneezed.
