After Lu Xun had left in a huff, Lin Yiyi’s son also ignored her.

Lin Yiyi felt lonely all of a sudden. 

She was used to the house being very lively. 

Even though Meng Yuran didn’t like to talk much, every time Lu Xun came, he’d sit there and watch him like a hawk as though he worried that Lu Xun was a thief who was there to steal from them.

And Lu Xun was the same way as well.

He never rushed to take off after their dinner and would always wait for dessert to be served. 

Noticing that the young man didn’t like him, he particularly enjoyed teasing him and making him jump up and down every time. 

Looking at it that way, it made quite a bit of a difference with Lu Xun around. 

Ugh. Never mind. She should stop thinking about it!

She went inside her daughter’s bedroom in search of some comfort. 

Meng Shanshan’s room was set in a pink princess style. 

There were lots of stuffed animals and pretty dolls and there were even pastel-colored cushions scattered all over the floor. 

Every time Lin Yiyi went inside of her daughter’s bedroom, she’d feel like a little girl all over again. 

When Meng Shanshan saw her mom walking into her room, the little girl let go of Silly Dog and ran over to her. 

“Mom, is Uncle Lu gone?” asked the little girl as she blinked her big, round eyes. 

“Yes.” Lin Yiyi caught her in her arms and nodded. Then she asked her, “Does Shanshan like Uncle Lu very, very much?”

Meng Shanshan left her arms and picked up Silly Dog again. “Uncle Lu is nice. He even brings snacks and toys for Silly Dog. He said he’ll look for a wife for him next time and make them a couple…”

Lin Yiyi looked at her daughter for a while, then she looked down at Silly Dog who was struggling and not wanting to be hugged. 

Finally, she told her daughter with a bit of difficulty, “Silly Dog is a girl. She can’t have a wife.”

Meng Shanshan: “……”

When the mother and daughter were discussing Silly Dog’s marriage, they seemed to have heard some sudden noises coming from outside. 

Lin Yiyi was the first to walk out of the room.

As soon as she opened the room door, she could tell that the sound came from the first floor. 

By the time she walked over to the top of the stairs, she could already see that all the first floor lights were on. 

As she descended the stairs, she could hear a very energetic female voice, “Man, I am exhausted flying back on a red-eye. Forget about anything else. Let me go get some sleep first.”

“I told you to give the kid a heads up before we come back, but you never listen.”

Alright. Now she was certain who were the individuals downstairs.

Sure enough, as soon as she got to the first floor, she could see Ms. Lin Ping and Mr. Gu Chengyi walking toward the staircase. 

Ms. Lin Ping was walking in the front. 

Seeing that Lin Yiyi had already reached the bottom of the stairs when she lifted her head, Ms. Lin Ping paused for a second and rolled her eyes coquettishly. 

“Hrm!”

Ms. Lin Ping snickered not too happily before she walked past Lin Yiyi and went upstairs. 

Lin Yiyi was a little baffled…

Turning to look at Mr. Gu who was dragging a 28” large suitcase behind him, she felt bad for him. She quickly walked up to help him. 

Mr. Gu was a nice guy. He quickly said to her, “You know how your mom is. Don’t be upset at her. I’ll talk to her in a bit.”

Lin Yiyi had just finished nodding when she heard Ms. Lin Ping’s angry voice from behind her. “Talk to me? I haven’t even talked to her yet!”

The very next second she could hear the thump, thump, thump sound that was Ms. Lin Ping coming down the stairs. 

Ms. Lin Ping dashed down to stand in front of her.
