(128) Lu Xun Felt Doubly Unjust

With the arrival of the two additional people, Lu Xun’s little eyes darted all over the place. He felt awkward all over.

“Uncle Li, how do you like the food here?”

Seeing how Li Tianmao’s chopsticks hadn’t stopped since he had sat down, Meng Yuran’s smile deepened.

When he saw Li Tianmao nodding violently, he said in a regretful tone, “It is a shame that my mom didn’t have time to cook today. Her cooking is even better than what’s here today. You must try it next time.”

Lin Yiyi thought to herself that she found her instant son’s bragging about her cooking slightly embarrassing.

Lu Xun: “……”

Why did he suddenly feel like he was being ostracized today?

Had Meng Yan been here today, the two of them just might hit it off.

Li Tianmao gave Lin Yiyi a pleasantly surprised look. “Is that so? My son has always been raving about Ms. Lin’s cooking and I didn’t believe him. Welp, I couldn’t have been more wrong. That being said, I am already very happy with this meal. Now I see why your restaurant is so busy all the time.”

Such an articulate man. He sure knew how to appease women!

Lu Xun gave him a stealthy stare.

“Oh, you are too kind. I am just glad you enjoyed the meal.”

Lin Yiyi was happy too. Then, looking at Li Yuebin who was still focused on eating, she said, “I will have Little Yuran bring some extra for lunch once school starts. You can share it with some of your classmates.”

Then, she turned to Meng Yuran and said, “And you, don’t eat them all yourself.”

Meng Yuran, who enjoyed eating all of his lunch by himself: “……”

The young man casted a cold look at Li Yuebin, who had never once even looked up, before he lifted his foot and gave him a swift kick under the table.

Startled by the kick, Li Yuebin almost choked on the food.

The meal was very lively.

Except for Lu Xun.

Lin Yiyi was slow to notice. By the time she finally caught on to it, lunch was already mostly over.

Both Li Tianmao and Li Yuebin had a good time.

They even exchanged their contact information with Lin Yiyi.

Lu Xun hadn’t said a word the entire time while he watched them exchange their WeChat information for future communication.

Even Meng Yuran was a little bit bothered by it.

Nevertheless, when he saw that Lu guy sitting quietly to one side, he oddly felt better.

After the Li’s had taken off, Lin Yiyi turned and said apologetically to Lu Xun, “I am so sorry. My intention was to treat you to lunch but we ran into Little Yuran’s classmate. Um… you are not upset, are you?”

Lu Xun had been over to the Lin’s a lot, and he had always been such a chatterbox.

Today was the first time she learned that, at work, he was a man of few words…

Did he save all his words during the daytime only to release them elsewhere?

But he hadn’t said much over the entire meal!

Something wasn’t right.

Lin Yiyi studied him cautiously as though there were writings on his face.

Lu Xun shook his head.

He held tightly onto his suit jacket.

Lin Yiyi paused for a little and suddenly had a guilty conscience.

“Then, perhaps, you can come over to my place for dinner tomorrow?”

She blinked and asked him softly, “I can make some of your favorite dishes?”

He was in the mood to eat more?

Meng Yuran’s lips curved up slightly.

He felt that his strategy had worked like a charm and that he could deploy it a few more times in the future.

Afterall, men always cared how others saw them.

When he realized that his plan had failed and his opportunity was gone, he would withdraw.

Li Yuebin’s dad was the boss of a public company…

He should know what inferiority complex meant when he was in the presence of someone like that.

That night, Lu Xun, who should be experiencing his “inferiority complex” tossed and turned in bed without getting any decent rest.

Something felt very out of place…

This couldn’t be!

It was so joyous when he was getting his daily free food!

But this time, the only time that he didn’t find enjoyable, was when two extra people had joined them.

He didn’t even know them so why did he have to share what was meant for him with them?

The more he thought about it, the more unjust he felt.

What was even worse was that he didn’t even have Miss Lin’s WeChat contact information. Why did the other two get to have it?

Nevermind about that Li Tianmao; even his son got her WeChat contact information!

Now, Lu Xun felt doubly unjust.

No, he couldn’t let them have any more opportunities at all…

Otherwise, he wouldn’t even be able to get any soup in the future!

Arriving at that conclusion, Lu Xun, who had woken up with two dark circles around his eyes, felt very motivated all of a sudden.
