(107) Why Don't We Just Eat These Fish Then

Sometimes, kids could be very forgetful. After the few months that she had spent with them, they have become happy. She had seen how they have changed with her own eyes…

And other times, kids have very good memories.

Part of the reason they were so distant to Meng Yan was because he had always neglected them in the past.

Lin Yiyi waved and gestured for them to approach her.

She stroked Shanshan on her head and picked up Meng Yuran’s slightly chilled hand.

“They certainly have grown. If you want them to spend a few days over at your place, you better ask them yourself,” said Lin Yiyi tenderly.

She looked at Meng Yan. “You didn’t give them a choice when you wanted a divorce. Now it’s time for them to make their own decisions.”

Inside the living room, the atmosphere among the original family of four became awkward again.

Housekeeper Zhang stuck half of her head out to see what was going on before she pulled it back, shuddering.

She blamed Meng Yan too. Ms. Lin and the kids were so happy before he came over. As soon as he got there, it felt like someone had just died.

Now, she wouldn’t even dare to walk out there…

If someone was to show up right now to save the moment, she’d thank him profusely.

All of a sudden, the doorbell rang.

Housekeeper Zhang immediately sprinted toward the door.  She dashed over there so fast that she might as well be in a competition for a 100-meter dash.

As soon as the door was opened, she saw a smiling man carrying a bucket in one hand. There were fish splashing inside of the bucket.

Housekeeper Zhang: “…..”

Thank the good lord!

Housekeeper Zhang went to fetch Lin Yiyi.

Lin Yiyi walked over to the door and saw Lu Xun, along with the bucket of fish by his feet. She was speechless.

“Mr. Lu… how did you know where I live?”

She had so many questions in her mind right now, but she decided to listen to her heart and asked the first one first.

They have only met all but two times; they really didn’t know each other that well, so Lin Yiyi was quite surprised to see him standing outside her front door.

Lu Xun had already put away his smile and went back to his leisurely self. There wasn’t even a hint of awkwardness for his sudden visit.

“Old Gu sent me over some chocolates from the US. I felt that I should also give a gift in return to express my appreciation for them.

“Your address was given to me by Old Gu. He said I can just bring my gift over here directly,” said Lu Xun.

Okay, that did sound like something her stepdad would say. Following what he had said, Lin Yiyi looked again at the bucket by his feet with fish splattering lively inside of it.

Was she supposed to send the fish to the US?

What was he thinking…?

Lin Yiyi tightened her lips a little and said, “Don’t you know that you can’t send live animals outside of the country?”

He wanted to give her stepdad live fish as a gift? What a tool.

Her stepdad was in the US right now. Would he still need his fish to fool Ms. Lin Ping?

That was a bit….

She was simply speechless.

Lu Xun lowered his head and pondered over it a little bit. They may only be able to mail vacuum-sealed dried fish and only with specific forms filled out.

He nodded in agreement “You are right. Why don’t we just eat these fish then?”

Lin Yiyi: “……”

Housekeeper Zhang, who had been eavesdropping to one side this entire time, suddenly stuck her head out. She was smiling so much that her face resembled that of a chrysanthemum as she said to Lu Xun, “Mr. Lu, since you’ve brought them all the way over here already, why don’t you do us a favor and help us bring the fish inside? It’s too heavy for us fragile women.”

Lin Yiyi casted Housekeeper Zhang a look.

She sure was funny today…

There were two “fragile women” standing in front of him…

Mr. Lu nodded in all seriousness and said, “But of course.”

Then, Housekeeper Zhang gave Mr. Lu the most appreciative look as he carried the bucket inside.

He made it look so easy…

This Mr. Xu looked to be pretty strong.

Housekeeper Zhang nodded to herself.
